Just had the procedure done Sept 2015, for heavy periods that would last up to 22 days, subside and then come back again. Never had any pain though and have always had clear paps. I have had two C-sections and my tubes tied in the past with no complications over the past 22 years. Now since the ablation I have had two cycles, one in Nov and right now. Went to the ER twice because of severe abdominal and back pain, like my labour was. They did an ultrasound and I was told that I had a 4 cm hematoma "blood trapped in the uterus" I had very light bleeding for three days, They gave me a prescription for Naprosyn and sent my home. Everything subsided within two weeks. Jan 29 It started again, bleeding heavier with some clotting this time, and then the most excruciating pain I have ever had! Back to the ER Jan 30, more drugs (morphine this time) could still feel some pain even with this. They sent me home with a prescription for tramacet and Naporsyn. Sometimes even the two together don't work. I am still in pain. Doc said just unlucky and unfortunately it will probably get worse! I would like some answers too. My Ob suggests a laparascopic full hysterectomy, but she is referring me to another doc because she says she does not do them??? I have since found out that in fact she does, looks like she is trying to remove herself from my case. I would like some answers and some guidance if anyone has any input, it would be appreciated. I am so confused!

update from guest; Now Feb 4, 2016, still having severe episodes of pain. I had the balloon ablation, not sure if it was novasure, but all the same as the stories I have been reading. This has completely ruined my quality of life and cannot understand how doctors can still be recommending this procedure. I have even seen an episode on the Doctors, endorsing it! I am so afraid to have the hysterectomy, but feel that it may be the only hope left to have relief from the pain.

Hi, I just want to let you know that I feel your pain...I went through the same thing and eventually did have the hysterectomy, I was able to keep one of my ovaries so that I would not have to be worried about menopause. I am pain free! Thank GOD...the only problem which is very minimal is that I am staring menopause, now I am 43 and that's totally ok with me. I would rather deal with that then that pain ANY day. I really hope you find some relief soon. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Hello, I opted for a tubal and Novasure about two years ago after having to get the Mirena IUD removed due to horrible side effects. I am 37 and the mother of two children. At first I was relieved by having no periods. However, my life has changed drastically since then! I was a size 2 and have blown up to a size 10, gaining almost 40 pounds! I have constant pain in my lower back and on the right side of my pelvic region. The pelvic pain has continued to get worse and worse! It literally feels like someone is stabbing me with a knife repeatedly all day and all night! The pain rarely eases up. It also has affected my sciatic nerve and I have severe pain running down my right leg. Nothing stops the pain!!! Is there anything that can be done about this? How can doctors continue to perform procedures like this when so many women are suffering miserable consequences? I truly hope there is a class action law suit against those who are promoting Novasure. We do not deserve to suffer every single day and be used as guinea pigs for these procedures!!! I wish all of you well and hope we all find some way to get some pain relief as well as a way to get back to my normal size!

Have you gained any weight? I gained a horrible 40 pounds! Also I am having terrible hot flashes and I will sweat until I am just soaking wet! Prior to this I rarely could even break a sweat if I tried! I hope they ban this stuff but as of right now they are still promoting it and ruining more lives, and knowingly at that! I wish you all the best, hope you feel better, and hope we all find a solution!

I had the ablation done last August and 4 months after the procedure I started having excruciating pain in my lower back and stomach...I have been to the Er to be only told that I must have had Kidney stones and the must have passed. So my gynecologist send me for a ultrasound only to say that the only other thing is a hysterectomy. If I would have known all this from the beginning I would have never gotten it done

I stumbled on this tonight and wanted to share I had the same result with Novasure. I was fine for about a year, then every month afteer that I had pain in my lower left quadrant that was unbearable.I went to the hospital at least twice and thought I was going to to die. I tried every pain killer and nothing helped. My gyn was totally useless, told me there was nothing wrong with me. I went to a gastro and had a total exam, tried all new diets and nothing worked. Finally my GYN said it could be scar tissue and gave me a script for Progesterone. This was about 8 months after the pain began. This finally helped. My pain subsided- and I have been taking this drug for about two years. This month I had blood work done and it seems i have reached menopause and am taking myself off of progesterone because I assume my periods have now gone away for good. I hadn't bled in about a year but I just thought it was due to the Novasure and the progesterone. I am hoping that I don't experience a week of torture with the return of a cycle- I am a little scared, but already went to the a health food and homeopathic center to get supplements that may help in this transition. I am sorry I ever had my tubes tied, or had the Novasure. It was a mistake, and patiences should be informed of the risks involved.I wish I had let my body naturally heal, and not destroyed my uterus because of an irregular period and spotting. I wish you all well, I hope that you find healing.

Idk if you ever look at this site anymore but the same thing has happened to me. My procedure was 8mths ago and you described the pain perfectly. Now my doctor says she doesn't prescribe pains meds for my problem, but she'll offer me another surgical procedure or daily medication. Why would I want to go either of those things for something that I only need for 2days a month. For now I am stuck in bed about to miss another day of work because of post uterine ablation Palin.

I had my tubes cut , a D&C & the ablation done on August 10, 2016. By Day 13 (August 23rd, 2016) after surgery the severe lower abdominal pain started. Today is August 28th & I'm still dealing with it. On a pain scale from 1 to 10... It's a 15! 800mg of ibuprofen is a joke & doesn't help. I'm going to make a Appt ASAP to curse my doctor out !

Its Sept 2016 - nearly 2 years since my ablation and all the problems starting (see my previous post). The pill for me didn't work, I had no pain (hurrah!) however I bled every day for 4 months so basically I swapped one problem for another.

Enough was enough - I had over the years tried the Mirena coil, been on iron tablets as became anaemic, the ablation and the pill. I went to see my gynaecologist again who asked me if I was having any menopausal symptoms - I am 49 and I am not. She said the problems could continue for years until I went through the menopause, she suggested a hysterectomy again . By this time, I couldnt sign quick enough! I was absolutely mentally happy with having it as I had tried everything I possibly could and it was affecting my day to day life.

So a few weeks later I had a laparascopic (keyhole) hysterectomy and if I had known it was going to be that easy, I would have had it years ago! Its been a complete life-changer!! I kept one of my ovaries so I will go through the menopause at my natural time, recovery was much easier than I imagined and I am now period and pain free. I feel like I have a whole new life!

This was in June 2016 and six weeks later I went for my post-op and the results back from the biopsy confirmed I had endometriosis and also adenomyosis. My gynaecologist called me 'stoic' and said that I had obviously put up with a lot and that I had definitely needed the op. I had a retroverted (tilted) womb and subsequently the ablation was never able to treat the whole womb as the instrument couldnt get to all of it. Everything after the op just got all clogged up as the whole area wasnt treated and thats why I had such severe pain.

I feel for all of you still suffering, persevere with the gynaecologist, wishing you all lots of luck x

I am In Excruciating pain and also gained 40 lbs without changing anything. Novasure has politicians in their pockets. It should be outlawed.
The psycho dr did it to my while I was under anesthesia because he's insane. Over three years later and the pain worse ever. I live life not sleeping and trying one treatment after another.
Tell everyone to never get one. And write to congrss and fda

I would say no, don't do it. I had my Novasure procedure done 5/2016 and I experience pains in my lower abdomin, pelvic region and I have problems having bowl movements. The pains I experience are worse than the labor pains I have had. The pain actually bends me over. It feelis like someone is actually trying to rip my uterus and fallopian tubes right out of me. It did fix the bleeding problems I had but it feels like my endometriosis is still there and even worse than before.
