I am 49 years old, and have the same problem, I consultated with a Nathopath, and he said it is a nerve issue, I wanted to try a chiropracter, but after reading about the guy who got messed up by one, I am now leary of doing so, I guess I will try other alternatives, maybe The Big Book of Juicing by Cherie Calbom, I hear is suppose to be great.  I thought also that it could be some kind of deficiency like vitamin B or something, I don't know, but I rather go a natural route than deal with these guessing games that the doctors play, I am not going to take drugs, pain killers muscle relaxers non of that stuff, but it sounds like some nerve endings need to be repaired in some way.  If someone knows a natural route out there please let me know.

hi, i am a 36 yr old female..  around 7.5 mnths ago i woke to find that my left hand was numb and what seemed to be pins n needles with an ommence throbbing. i didn`t think nothing ov it as i had been having problems with my fingers hurting. gettin cramp them tingling for over a yr, xmas of 2011 i was sat down and i stood without realising my foot was completely numb and i broke my foot as it just curled under itself as i couldn`t feel itm. I have had consultations at hospital and had shock treatment up my arms to find where the prob is. the pain is unbareable iand in the wrong frame of mind commit suicide.i wear a glove evn in the house cos it is constantly freezing and it`s just like i`ve got my hand stood in a bucket of ice cold fresh snow, frost bite doesn`t come close, i can`t expose it to water as if i do this then it hurts like hell yet again. my arm started to hurt not long after from shoulder to wrist as my hand had it`s own pain..the arm itself i have no energy and its weak and i can`t hold things evn a paper under the arm as i would have to elevate my arm slightly n that becomes unbareable..i have started to notice that my right arm and hand are pickin up on sum bad habits also.my lower back also hurts, i have noticed with this the more pain i am in with my back then the more intense the pain in my left hand and arm. the other week i woke up to go to the toilet and my hand was completely numb and i couldn`t move it . i had to peal my hand open with my right hand and it was like this for around an hour. i can`t evn pick my nose if i wanted to with it (hand) cos my hand and arm want to go in other direction, it`s as if the hand has stopped functioning and listening to commands that my brain send to it and it has mind of it`s own. i have noticed also that at the top of my back on my spine between shoulder blades but nearer neck line that there is a spot where that goes numb..i am due to have operation soon on my elbow as they say thats where the pressure needs releasing but i think theres more to it than that as after 7.5 mnths since it went like this that i should imagine it would have corrected itself in some way..i am just hoping that after i have the op they tell me it will get better and by this i mean ,,put weight back on my hand and arm as they have lost sufficient weight, visible wear and lack of muscle and smaller than my other also it will go bak to normal and not stay like this permanently as the length of time it`s been like it.it worries me so because of the back pain and that numb spot on my spine at top,, please could anyone throw a bit of light my way one way or anuva.  Thnx in advance :)

HI..i suffer from anxiety and panic attacks and believe me this aint no anxiety.. i have been doing a bit of homework and what i`ve come up with is PERIPHERAL NERVOUS SYSTEM, (my symptoms anyway).. The central nervous system (CNS) consists of the brain and spinal cord. The peripheral nervous system is comprised of nerve fibers that supply the skin and muscles with the power needed for sensation and movement. The autonomic nervous system helps to regulate spinal nerves and peripheral nerves, and innervates, or supplies nerves to, the internal organs. Its role in SLE is poorly defined. How Does Lupus Affect The Nervous System? The nervous system requires an uninterrupted flow of blood to supply its tissues with oxygen and nutrients necessary for normal functioning. A number of possibilities have been suggested to explain how lupus may cause the many symptoms of nervous system involvement: Nerve tissue may be damaged when antibodies attack nerve cells or blood vessels. Nutrients and oxygen are delivered through blood vessels that feed the brain, spinal cord and nerves. If blood flow is slowed or interrupted, the cells of the nervous system are injured, unable to function normally, and symptoms develop. The symptoms that occur vary depending on the location and extent of the tissue injury. One treatment is called stem cell treatment where the treatment helps make more cells that have been damaged Bit like cancer treatment i should imagine..am at hospital tomora gettin pre assessed before i have my op on my elbow which i`m certain isn`t the main root of my condition....gd luck peeps and i hope you find the answers you are looking for :)

I don't have a numbness... it's more like a tickling sensation in my left wrist. I only get it when I drink any carbonated drinks. I used to drink tons and tons of soda every day, but for the last few months I was able to kick the habit and I've replaced soda with water, sugar-free iced tea and juice. Now I can't drink soda without feeling the tingles in my left wrist and hand. Maybe this will help some of you.I also have acid reflux and an anxiety disorder, and if it was anxiety, you would know it because you'd be freaking out, and since your feet are the farthest exteriors from your heart, they will get numb and tingly before any other part of your body, if you're having a panic attack or palpitation.

It may also be carpal tunnel, when you use your computer, do you rest your wrists on the edge of the desk? If so, this puts pressure on your median nerve. When it's compressed you may feel numbness and tingling and maybe even a swelling feeling (even if there's no visual swelling) in your wrist and hand that can pulse all the way up your arm. If the sensation is strongest in your thumb, index finger and/or wrist, and you're constantly using computers or tools that vibrate (jackhammers, big trucks, etc.) it is most likely carpal tunnel.

If you get this feeling after eating meats, citrus fruits or sodas, it's most likely acid reflux.

If you get this feeling and it's accompanied with numbness in the feet and arms and tachycardia (fast heart beat) it's most likely a panic attack.

If you've had an injury in that area, it's most likely nerve damage. You'll have to see a doctor. S/he will probably recommend exercises, medications, or, if it's really bad, surgery. Otherwise, it may be permanent.

Hope this helped :)

36 male,

Has anyone found a cause for these symptoms?

For about the past ten months I've experienced either numbness or sharp pains mostly in my limbs but sometimes my face and head.

It seemed to start shortly after I decided to change my diet to whole foods plant based. I went to the doctor had a complete blood test and came back as picture perfect healty. The doctors even seemed a bit shocked at how good the results were.

I've been researching on my own and have found a few people who claim that diet may be the cause. Oxalate intolerance is the term. This would mean giving up eating a healthy diet. I will try to cut back on potatoes and carrots and see if there is a change but I really hope this is not the case. I don't want to go back to eating unhealthy.

I have the same tingling feeling in my right arm and hand sometimes feel it on left side too. I also get electric shocks on my face and also had bells palsey back in 2006. On monday I experienced a sudden feeling that something was gonna happen and then suddenly started drooling out of control for about 5 minutes.... had to stand over toilet. then suddenly stopped. all that I'm reading leads to MS. I'm nervous... made appt for 4/15/14. I've been sick on and off since 2004 and no one seems to know whats happening. Had a tumor on my thymus glad which they first thought lymphoma, had it removed in 2008 and got better until now. I also feeling like my right side is heavy.... when walking my leg feels tired. and I also get a bright spot light on the corner of my right eye from time to time....like someone suddenly is shinning a flash light. I'm 43 yrs old and since 2004 I have been told I have some sort of autoimmune disease. Ive been tested for almost everything and all negative. I also have low platelets and diabetes. Hope we could find answers. Good Luck everyone

I hit a corner really hard with my arm and there is quite a deep cut and it was very badly brusied and swollen for about 3 days. It dosent really hurt anymore (its been 5 days and its a yellowy greeny colour bruise) but the problem is that a little above it and a little to the right I have a 'line' of numbness where my friend pinched me as hard as she could and I didnt feel anything. Is it nerve damage from the hit or is something else going on?

Question....everything in here fits me to a T. Do any of you own or use Apple devices (iPhone, Mac). Do any of you use Adderall? Have any of you used antibiotics recently before or around the start of this?

I have similar numbness bouts on the right side of my body. Sometimes my legs are so heavy I can only shuffle and not run. But, when I am feeling well, I have almost no symptoms. ECG, MRI, etc. and no diagnosis. However, I have noticed that artificial sweeteners seem to aggravate my symptoms. So, you might want to try cutting those out.
