I get this occassionally too, and sae as some of the previous posts I can link it in part to alcohol consumption. However I have also found that if i masturbate too shortly after rigorous exercise I'm guaranteed to get the same.

I'm 19 and have had this for at least a couple of years.

I am shocked that this many people have reported this. I am even more dumbfounded that doctors are not familiar with this in light of the huge amount of responses to this thread. I am going to bring this up to my physician and reference this discussion as soon as possible because it is becoming an unbearable thing.


Personally it is a horrible pain that lasts a guaranteed fifteen to thirty minutes usually after masturbation and ONLY after ingesting at least one alcoholic beverage. I have also suffered from this after ejaculating following ingestion of drinks that merely CONTAIN alcohol: specifically a fermented tea drink called Kombucha. To put it plainly, it feels like god damn razorblades.

I find that walking at a brisk pace significantly dulls the pain.

I have had this problem a lot in the past too, and I think it has something to do with additional stress put on the urethra when you cum, as it is a thicker consistancy to urine and could stretch and irritate it if you cum particuarly hard, as you are likely to do during sex but not so much when masturbating... So the only advice I could give would be to try and slow down a bit before you ejaculate so you don't cum too hard and put extra strain on your pipe

Just had the 'caught up/blocked/burning sensation for 20 minutes there, It usually happens to me after alcohol (or if i turned on all day), i ejaculate and nearly immediately i know i'm in trouble, my erection won't go down fully and i have to sit down on the toilet until eventualy i urinate and the sensation goes away. After sex with a new girl i have to tell her whats up because they wonder why you in the toilet for 30minutes. it really annoying. Surprised others have this too.

Wow...Good to know I have some brothers here. I've had this issue for years (started in college) and it's always when I have a relatively moderate amount of alcohol, then have sex or masturbate.  Never been to a urologist or anything but it usually goes away after 30-45 minutes. I'm not a doctor (too bad there aren't any doctors on this thread) but I suspect it has something to do with the prostate.  The irritation extends beyond my penis into my lower torso so it seems like there is likely some internal involvement. It might happen to some extent if I have sex when I have to pee, but for me it's definitely worse if alcohol is involved. My girlfriend knows and understands since I told her about it at one point, although it was admittedly a little awkward during college with the typical party hook-up.

This happens to me mostly after alcohol, but not all alcohols are equal.  I've noticed this happens to me most frequently when drinking light beers and even those non-alcohol beers and also sometimes with liquor.  Very infrequently with wine.  And almost never with heavy beers I'm not sure why that is.  It can also happen without alcohol involved at at all, but that is a rarity.  Maybe once a year at most when alcohol is not involved.  I've had this problem ever since I can remember, at least 15 years.  It's just the way it is.  When it happens, I try drinking some cranberry juices and stuff and wait a while for it to go away.  That's all you can do.  I've researched this many times over the years and always find people having the same exact issue, but never have seen any Dr's explanations.

I have had this same feeling, and have noticed that a nice hot shower virtually numbs me from the symptoms. I'd recommend the shower technique. 

Also, I will be sure to try out this cranberry juice solution.

Same problem here.  I'm 34 and it has been happening for about 7-8 years now.  It used to only happen when I'd drink alcohol, but the last couple of years, it's happened several times when I haven't been drinking.  What I've noticed:

-It's nearly always late at night (although I probably masturbate/have sex more late at night, so hard to know if that's relevant)

-It happens both when masturbating and having sex, although it's happened more frequently after masturbation (although, again, I've probably been masturbating more than getting laid the last few years, sadly).

-It only happens after ejaculation -- I've never once had painful urination that didn't follow ejaculation.

-For me, it is intensely painful.  I like to think of myself as having a high pain tolerance, but this makes me want to cry.  The pain usually feels like it is located about an inch or so in from the tip of the penis, and feels as though someone is jabbing a nail into my urethra.

-It lasts between half an hour and an hour, depending on various factors, some of which I sorta understand, and most of which I don't.

-During this time, there is a fair amount of dribbling of "urine" that is clear and thin like urine rather than viscous but clearly has some semen or other fluid in it -- as others have said, it's cloudy.

-If I can manage to hold off from urinating for half an hour or so after ejaculating, *sometimes* I'll be ok.  Not always.  Not tonight, for instance.

It's pretty much horrible.  I can't believe that this is something with an ambiguous diagnosis and no real treatment.

I am 25, really glad to know that I am not the only one having this problem, but I seldom ingest alcoholic beverage before having sex. But it always happen after I drunk a lot of liquid or when my bladder is full ...

I am having this problem right now and i am glad to see i am not alone. 34 year old male. Yes, a full bladder seems to be the main cause. Try taking a hot shower. I know this sounds wierd, but letting the hot water run over the lower abdomen tends to relax the bladder. as soon as the hot water hits you, you will start to urinate. after repeating the process 7 or 8 times, it usually goes away and i can get some sleep. Sometimes it will linger, like tonight, but is far less painful. At least that works for me.

Its absolutely unbelievable that so many people have this problem and f**k NO ONE have some useful information from doctors. I have this problem for 10 years (23 years old) and i read every frikkin forum about this ... and again - NO NORMAL RESPONSE from anybody. I am glad to hear u guys have same sh*t problem, but I rather hear some conclusion from doctors : (. Needless to say I have ABSOLUTELY SAME symptoms.

BTW I am from Czech republic, so I am sorry for my bad english... but this "disease" is obviously international :-/
