Thanks for your input. I recently trained my shoulders with weight lifting which might explain the symptoms here, so I might change the exercises to see, if I can unlock the shoulders.
If it happens only when you breath, it's likely a costochondritis which has to do with inter-costal ligaments/muscles. The condition is not serious at all and has nothing to do with your heart. You may have trained or overstretched your chest- or shoulder-muscles too hard in the past days or may have slept shirtless, which may have teared a part of it. The good news is, it should go away on its own over time. A good treatment is to go sleep with a shirt on and use a hot bottle of water and keep it against your chest. You can take magnesium supplements too until your condition improves. If you smoke, are overweight, dring alcohol or in otherwise extreme cases, a more serious conditions such as pericarditis, which is an infection of the protective layer of the heart, may be considered. Hope it helps.
i only feel the pain near my heart and left breasts when i exhale while laying on my back, and the pain is in my left back top area
I have trouble breathing when I lay on my back. I get a pain in the middle of my chest. It has gotten worse since I gained weight. Is it gas? I'm also an asthmatic. Can that be a reason as well?
While laying on my left side I had a sharp pain or shock with every heart beat. Try laying other ways and it does not happen. Every now and then I try to sleep on the left but stop when I feel the first beat. Will see dr.
I found this thread several weeks ago (October 2022) when I was experiencing these exact symptoms -- pain in my abdomen and chest when I would lay on my left side or flat on my back at night. Lying on my right side seemed to be the only way I could sleep without experiencing pain. I scheduled an appointment with my gastroenterologist, who ordered a CT scan of my belly which showed a small intestine mass and bulky lymphadenopathy (swollen lymph nodes) through out my abdomen. More tests over these past few weeks including blood work, biopsy, and a PET scan have since led to a diagnosis of non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Meeting with my oncologist tomorrow to learn more and hopefully start treatment soon. I'm a 40 year old male and otherwise consider myself very healthy. Prayers and strength to all of you out there searching for answers -- I know it can be frustrating to sift through all of the dead end rabbit holes on the Internet. I hope this post at least prompts you to go get it checked out by a doctor and at least ask for a CT scan. From what I've learned, lymphoma is very treatable these days if caught early. Good luck and God bless you all!
I'm having the same syptoms as you. Did you ever find a solution or diagnosis? All my labs are coming back normal. The doctor said it must be lung inflammation but idk if that sounds right. I'm so tired of this.
