this is exactly what i have too. Pain in my right lower abdomen when i have sex. HELP!!
Reply
Okay it sounds like I have the same problem but with a few twists. My boyfriend and I were just fine and then three months into having sex, Boom. It happened right as we switched from doggy to missionary. How quick it happened was suprising. I had to curl into fetal position to dull the pain and my body began to overheat so much I almost vomited. My face was ash white and almost green. The pain became more severe and i almost passed out. I had to have a cold rag on my neck and a heated rag over my abdomen. The only thing that helps is either passing gas or going # 2. Now I know this must be one of those TMI kind of things but this has been happening for a year now and myboyfreind and I are getting frustrated.

We've ruled out Birth Control, I've had an ultrasound and been told I have a tilted uterus, and we've also ruled out STDS. I talked to three different OBs and they all said something different. One said "don't worry your getting contractions because its good sex.".....Highly unlikely.....The next one told me to "just get and ultrasound and blood tests"......what? thats it?....... and the last said "don't worry about it it'll go away in a month, its probably just a swolen organ."

Doctors now a days really suck. If anyone has any sort of advice it would be greatly appreciated.

I've been having the same problem as all of you... I get a severe pain in lower right abdomen during intercourse about 3-4 days out of the month. When I first began experiencing it, my OBGYN said it was just "ovulation" or that I was having sex "too rough". After years of the same answers I switched OBGYN- got the same answer.

Is it not weird that so many women are having this problem and nothing is truly getting solved? I've spoken with many closr friends about this and they've never experienced such a thing, but after reading all of these stories- it makes me think....

I've had a large ovarian cyst removed about 4 years ago from my right ovary. OBGYN said my ovary was fine and in "perfect working condition". But maybe that is a cause? Have anyone of you ladies had ovarian cysts?

Hi all, I am 21 and I started my monthly at 11, I then had non stop problems from the beginning such as, very heavy periods, very large clots, bleeding for 3- 8 weeks at a time, and very painful intercourse.

I saw a gynecologist who examined me with a camera internally and said I suffer from poly-cystic ovaries, I'm not sure if this is really the cause of the severe pains during intercourse but it may be.

And to point out for those that mentioned about Doc's saying its due to taking contraceptive, I have not used any Contraceptives for 2 years now and suffer the pains worse!

I have had side pains for as long as i can remember. I am 20 and will be 21 in 2 months. My mom never took me to the doctor when i was young with the side pains, she just told me that it was growing pains. We i started having sex the pains began to worsen but she had me so convinced it was just growing pains i never had it checked out. I have odd periods, some months i can have up to 3 and other months i dont even have a period. When i have sex it can happen in any position and it is sudden, i get no warning ahead, it always sends me to tears and i have to stop. This morning it was the WORST i have ever had. The pain lasted for almost an hour, i was laying on my back and could not move because the more i moved the worse the pain got. The pain went from above and a little to the left of my right hip bone, spread to my pelvic area and then made sharp pains to the vaginal area. It was horrible, i was crying in pain the whole time and did not know what to do other then just lay there in agony. I would love to know what causes this pain...
I do not have any STD's, not prego, not on birthcontrol and we were not doing anything fast or hard.

I have had the same problem for about 6months now and I've also suffered from problems related to endometriosis (really painful cramps, heavy bleeding, intestinal pains, back pain, vaginal pain firing intercourse, etc) for a few years. The last time I went to my gyno I asked about this new pain and he said it's most likely due to lesions from the endometriosis. The only way I was told to get rid of the pain is to try different birth controls or to get rid of the lesions altogether requires surgery. Hope this helps.

I happened on this post by accident but all of the symptoms fit with problems that my wife has had for a few years now. Just this summer her OB/GYN thought that she my have a condition called pelvic congestive syndrome, but he also sent her to a Urologist that specialized in female blatter conditions and she found that she also has Interstitial Cystitis. Unfortunately neither of these conditions have a cure, you have to treat the symptoms. right now we are having to instill Heparin and Marcaine into her blatter by straight cath 1 - 2 times a week. I feel for everyone that has posted here having seen my wife go through all of the same problems and having no answers for so long. both of these conditions have websites so you can do some research to see if it is possible that one of these conditions may be an answer for you.

Get a second opinion, it sounds like pelvic inflammatory disease which causes your tubes to be blocked, if you ever get pregnant the tube could burst and could be fatal to you and the baby.

One word, endometriosis. You'll have to have a small surgical procedure to find it but it's very important you do!! It can cause infertility.

Well, my issue is that I've had all tests for STDs, my pelvic exam, my IUD checked, AND been checked for ovarian cysts with a pelvic ultrasound. Definitely not preggers, and otherwise I'm in great health.

Still same thing - limited to certain sexual positions, and usually when my partner and I are doing doggy style it is the worst - I used to love this position!! I notice that at certain points when I'm really full I kind of feel the sensation, and it's definitely on the middle-to-right-side of my body.

Seriously, any help on this and I owe you so much thanks. I'm only 24, and I used to have a healthy sex life. What could this be?

I am in the SAME exact position as you... (& the same thing about doggy style-- my fave but hurts too bad when he goes too deep :( Except my pain is more on the left... do you have an IUD?? I went to the E.R. and had all the same tests as you and they didn't recommend that I remove the IUD. They asked me if I had ever been diagnosed with endometriosis but then when it was all over (the ultrasound, exam), they just told me they didn't know and gave me a prescription for IBUPROFEN!! even though I still hurt at the time... now I'm not sure what doc to go to... OBGYN?

I have also been having these symptoms! I received a pelvic ultra sound but it showed no abnormalities. I have pain during sex and my uterus apparently "flops around." I also only have blood on one side of my tampon. It is only on the right side and I also have painful cramps. What could be the cause of this? The ultra sound technician simply told me I must be from another planet!
