YEP been to docs and told to hold my nose and pop my ear :-( 5 years training lol.
Wow!! I can't believe it......someone with the SAME EXACT symptoms....AND....the SAME ear! I'm sorry I can't help you, but & I know it's no consilation, you're not alone! I have no idea WHAT it is...other than freakin' ANNOYING!! Mine has been for about a week now. And it always sounds like it's about 3 or 4' away......I don't know HOW LONG I've been looking for the cause of this odd clicking......only to realize that's it's INSIDE my own ear! This is very baffling!
Audio test would help to find out if it is an internal pressure ..... So at first find a good ENT doctor.
If it is something else and you cannot take it anymore, try Chinese needles it will help after a few times.
i know its not wax as she looked in my ear and said its clear. i used sudafed on sat and got a few hours relief but its not worked since then so 5th day now and slowly going mad
The Morse code starts in the evening every night . I am ok in the day but it's starting to drive me nuts. At first I thought it was a base sound of a stereo from our renter downstairs but no one else can hear this . Maybe I am going crazy , please help
hi just wanted to let you know i had the same for about a month, it eventually stopped by itself one night (what a relief) I THINK I CAN EXPLAIN WHAT IT IS .YOU KNOW WHEN YOU GET A TWITCH IN YOUR EYE FOR NO REASON AND IT CARRIES ON FOR DAYS I THINK ITS A MUSCLE TWITCH OR SPASAM IN THE INNER EAR. I DID CARRY ON WTH THE SUDAFED CAPS TOO FOR ABOUT A WEEK
SORRY FOR CAPS LOCK STUPID PC
yes thanks , A friend of mine thinks it may be a deficiency of niacin so I got a B complex. Hope mine just happily disappears too
Hello there ! I sent this text to some lady who was trying to find some reasonable answer why we all hear Morse code at night. I would love to see some scientific explanation to it. /////Yes, very strange…. some people say on the internet Ohw… you must’ve had your cell phone next to you and your body picking up the signal or they say it’s just tinnitus or wax in your ears ….no, none of that My mother was cleaning my ears every time after bath since I was so little; so, there was no wax in my ears (but I could hear beeping ) and then I was cleaning after that every day or every other day myself. Can not be any wax there. Besides, I never heard clicking or buzzing sound in my head. Some doctor say on the internet tinnitus sounds as buzzing or solid nose some sort. What I hear is clear morse code, kind of electronic tone. I thought may be my body picks up electrical frequency but again the waves always go in equal portions not in morse code. Back in Russia I lived in a village type setting no military around or anything really; the radio we had was off at night of course, was no phone at that time but the morse was coming to my head. I lived in remote place in Sierra Nevada Mountains CA; so far from any possible devises to hear morse code from….I don’t have anything else that I can think of…. Last night I was falling asleep with morse code again and again I live far away from the City did not take shower that day so was no moisture in my ear, no wax. I don’t have or ever had tinnitus. I also, think communication in morse code is kind of archaic way to communicate. I don’t think any one using it any more in these days around where I live. Also, it doesn’t bother me ..it’s very mild ..I can barely notice it; also, got used to it. Some nights I fell asleep so fast and don’t hear it yet but then in a morning it’s there most of the time. Take it easy as an upgrade not like horrifying illness ..

Yes! Same thing! Had it for more than 24 hrs but if a place a plug on the good ear goes off rare!! Do anybody knows what is this?? Thanks
II experienced this morse code tapping almost nightly for about three months when lying on my left side. If I turned on my right side I couldn't hear the tapping. I had a TIA and the Dr. put me on Plavix. the first night after starting the Plavix the noise disappeared and only infrequently did I hear a very faint tapping when on my left side but not loud enough to keep me from sleeping. This absence of noise lasted for about 4 months. I'm still on the Plavix, however the noise in my left ear has returned, only this time it starts in early evening and lasts throughout most of the night no matter in what position I am in. I have discovered that the noise is muted somewhat if I put an earplug in the left ear. I was up last night for a couple of hours due to the noise being too disturbing. I plugged the left ear before returning to bed and was able to finally get some sleep. Hope this will continue to work for me.
I,also have a clicking sound in my right ear.it started about 2 wks ago.i don't understand it.will ask my dr.
The condition described in this blog/thread is not tinnitus, but rather a spasm of one of three anatomical structures adjacent to or in the ear. As a health care practitioner, I recommend that you see an experienced Ear/nose/throat doctor for treatment.

I have this popping in my right ear as well, but I have noticed that it happens when I eat too much.
Palatal myoclonus is a rapid spasm of the palatal (roof of the mouth) muscles, which results in clicking or popping in the ear. Chronic clonus is often due to lesions of the central tegmental tract (which connects the red nucleus to the ipsilateral inferior olivary nucleus). Uniquely, the clicking noise does not subside when the patient sleeps.
When associated with eye movements, it is known as oculopalatal myoclonus
