hidranditis supperativa.....I am a white male 48 been living with the inner thigh issue since i was 13 years old.  It does get worse then it gets better then it gets worse.  Strange trying to control the boils and swelling pipples you name it.  But!  Diet is the key along with suppliments (vitamins).  Stay away from fast food bring your weight down to no more the 10 - 15 pounds over weight.  Eat way more veggies everyday.  Try to become a veggietarian.  Limit dairy, fat, fatty meats, breads, sugars ect.....min two showers per day.  Clean the area.  Keep your clothes clean.  Do not reuse your underware change twice a day min.  See a dermatologist and share my thoughts with them.  This comes from a lifetime of knowledge.  Oh ya one more item.....Share with your potential partner about genetic conditions like hidranditis supperativa and be open.  It its too much for them to handel find out early.  Lives have been ruined by hiding the condition be open a proud.  I would love to meet a woman with the same condition it is controlable.  Do not be imbarrised ladies and gentelmen this is only a condition.

Hey Ladies, I'm 21 years old and I've been having the same issue for years now, maybe just after puberty. I get boils between my thighs and armpits. At one point, it was severe and I'd have multiple boils at once, they also seem more frequent around the time of my period. Luckily I've found a few things that work to keep them away, so here's my suggestions. I've been to the dermatologist & told that it is HS, she gave me some antibiotics and they work to keep the boils away however I'm not a fan of medicated solutions because over time your body will build it's tolerance and the antibiotic will stop working or you'll need to up the dose; I only suggest the antibiotics for a short period to get your boils under control while you look for an alternative that works for you. HS is found in women of all races, but it is more common in African American women because it's related to diet, which is why it's more common in overweight women also. Your boils are caused by bacteria like acne and a lot of times they can be managed by what you eat/drink! I cut out foods that were high in oils and sugars first off and I saw that it got better, then I cut out dairy & all meats except fish ( & chicken every now & then ) and I didn't have any problems at all. If you're truly tired of the battle of the boils and brave enough to try it, you'll change your diet. A doctor that practices holistically suggested this to me as he said dairy and meats are foreign to the human body and cause build up of bacteria and mucus. I also found that a boil will keep coming back if the head isn't removed & that explains the reoccurrence a lot of times so try to bring it to a head, if you don't know how to, youtube it (seriously). Also, be cautious of eruptions and be sure to keep that area clean and covered with a band-aid to prevent the pus from draining and spreading to other areas close by because that pus contains bacteria that can cause another boil. May the odds be in your favor

Hello its all about scrubbing and drying soak in water for a good 15 min then turn off the shower and take some scrubbing gloves and a body soap exfoliant and scrub away in circles for a good 20 minutes then use a good odorless soap then air dry and use a good shea lotion and that will do the trick most important keep that area dry during the day and make sure you wipe good use babe wipes just to make sure your fresh at all times use some babe powder to keep that area dry do not poop unless your showering right away just keep down there as clean as possible

I too have H.S. It really sucks. Things that my doctor told me to reduce outbreaks include, not shaving, not using deodorant, not using scented soaps, limiting caffeine intake, avoiding stress, not smoking, and having good hygiene. Hope this helps.

I am male and have them. I'm not over weight but for some reason I get them in my under arms too. I have used oxy pads and it helped a little. They shrink back up. You have to keep up on it or they come back.

THE BEST THING TO TREAT HS:
1) try to limit eating wheat and dairy (doing a Paleo diet is ideal)
2) exercise and try to be as LEAN and healthy as possible (HS is fueled by being overweight)
3) keep your skin clean and hydrated (wash with a benzyl peroxide wash, and moisturize after)
4) avoid tight or damp clothing, and wear underwear that doesn't stay damp
5) after exercising get out of sweaty clothes immediately
6) be kind to yourself! take solace in your recovery as you stick to these guidelines!

*ALSO try and keep hair growth to a minimum. HS is aggravated by bacteria in the hair follicle. Laser hair removal is one of the best options.

Go talk to a dermatologist - don't be afraid, the worst that can happen is nothing and the best are awesome bump and pain free thighs. I went to one doctor and they told me to take antibiotics (doxycycline), but I'm not a fan of taking antibiotics if I don't have to and them make me feel I'll usually. About 8 years later, I went back to a new dermatologist (my current doctor) and she told me to wash the area with Hibiclens (you can find it in the first aid section at the drug store). I shower everyday and use it on a loofah. She also prescribed clindamycin phosphate lotion. I have had a significant reduction in the bumps, white heads, and black heads and have not had any boils or carbuncles. I saw results within the first week of following her instructions and now only use the lotion once per day most days of the week (as opposed to twice per day every day when I started). As far as spots and scars go, those are hard to get rid of, but when you are cleared up, your dermatologist can help you lighten the scars with medicated lotion and/or other treatments.

You likely have HS or folliculitis. The earlier you treat the less scarring you will have. Also, I am 28 and have been dealing with this since I was 13 and it only gets worse if you don't treat it (scars upon scars, leading to darkened skin) and it can spread. Last year it spread to my arm pits and that made me get off my butt and go to a dermatologist! The few bumps I had on my arm pits are gone and there are no new ones or scars.

Basically, go to the dermatologist and fix it! It's way easier to just change your soap and put on some lotion than to do laundry everyday, change towels, sacrifice your skinny jeans, and cut foods you love. So bite the bullet and go! Hope this helped someone!

Important note: Clindamycin phosphate lotion is not recommended if you are actively trying to get pregnant or are pregnant according to my dermatologist. Just a heads up.

It sounds like hs... I have it too. Tea tree oil has prevented breakouts I only get then maybe once or twice a year. Shaving makes it worse.... I've looked into laser hair removal as an option. I don't shave unless I know I'm getting intimate or going to the pool.. They get bad under my arms and groin. However tea tree oil has prevented the hair growing back really thick like it used to....So now I can shave more often.. I hope this helps.. Whatever you do don't pop them and if they pop don't let it spread..
