:$ Ohk so I'm 12 years old. And I have fairly large breasts for my age, DD. And I too, have these really annoying bumps near my nipple. And I don't have like, a brown part around my nipple, not a distinctive one. I'm so embarrased about my breast to the point where I've cried. Can someone please explain?!
Don't worry, Sam. Your breasts are normal. Everyone develops at a different rate, so your large breasts are not anything to worry about. As mentioned before in this thread, the bumps are something many people have, and it's just part of the breast function as lubricating glands, and don't worry about the lack of pigment. You are 12 years old, and have not had children. Sometimes the pigment does not change color until later, or until during pregnancy. Do not cry over your body, you are just fine.
Boys Get them To
thank god I'm not the only one!!! I started to think maybe this was normal when I actually saw a picture in Playboy of a girl with bumpy nipples...It was all the way in the back of the mag, I think she was a "girl next door" or something! I wish these type of magazines would post more pics of girls who have this, that way maybe some of us would find out earlier that this is normal!
They're Montgomery glands and they are there for a reason- They're subasceous gland that help lubricate your nipple and keep them from drying out, this is especially helpful when you're breastfeeding, as you don't want baby taking away all your nipple moisture (which is exactly what would happen if it weren't for these glands) Occasionally, you can get a clog in them, but that can be easily remedied with some warm compress, gentle pressure, and if need be, medical attention, though it usually doesn't go to that. These bumps are a natural part of your body. :-)
I am 13, and I have noticed them a couple months ago.
I tried popping them, but it just gets scabbed over, like a brusie afterwards...they wont go away..:(
I dont want my boyfriend thinkin it's weird..

Hello I am 31 and I get them to be more pronounced when i sunbake in my back yard! So i realise now not too long topless sunbathing - Also, try to remember to moisturise with a pure natural oil like a little sesame oil straight after showering! Helped to reduce their appearance - People NO SQEEZING & POPPING!
Im scared.
Im not pregnant and i went through puberty.
Im 17 years old and Ive had these bumps for a few years now. I dont get it. I tried popping them but they always come back. Its very embarrasing when Im with my boyfriend and he wants to look at my boobs. How do I get rid of them?

THIS WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I found this on another website (I have/had them myself, and wanted to get rid of them):
While no treatment is necessary, they can be treated by:
Tretinoin cream or gel used daily will reverse the condition slowly overtime and also help keep the condition from worsening.
[end quote]
After using tretenoin gel for just two weeks mine are almost gone, and they were not small before!!!
I highly recommend this. Your skin will peel and be a bit itchy, but it's the price to pay if you want to get rid of them.

I'm a guy and I have these things, is that normal? I've noticed that most of the responses on here are directed towards women.
omg, Tretinoin?? really!? i just happen to have some laying around and i've had these bumps for many years. this thread made me so happy. hearing everyone's gratitude and relief that match my own! also, in response to a much earlier post, i've also noticed a loss of sensation in my areolas after years of picking at them. i hope this is reversible. i must warn though: these bumps can become badly infected. it happened to me where a bump formed a hard lump under it. when it turned purple (after after being elbowed accidentally) i went to my doctor where she had to cut open my breast and drain it. not fun. left a scar. so i will admit, the picking led to infection.
yea i have one too only i noticed it today but it keeps bleeding its really annoying
