i have had these small bumps on the shaft of my penis and genitals for probably over 10 years. they have never gone away and they are all located at the base of hair follicles. i went to the doctor and ask him what it was as i was scared it was some type of std (though when i got them i had never had sex). he told me not to worry that they were only exaggerated hair follicles. its still aggrevating though. if i mess with them and try to pop them it ends up turning into a large pimple that is some what painful and takes a few days to go away. its good to see that this isnt a rare problem.

so i have the pimple things too....and it's embarrassing.
i have a boyfriend and we are very sexually active.
he doesn't have a problem with the pimples (he doesn't mind them) and he doesn't have them either.
i've been tested and i've researched and i think i might know what is going on.
if you have used shaving cream to shave your pubic region at one point in your life then you probably have these pimple things.
i think the pimples are specifically coming about because the shaving cream is thick and infects the hair follicles.

i haven't used shaving cream for a while, but the pimples are still there.
anyways...
good luck to all of you.

Hidradenitis Suppurativa:
-clogged sweat glands
-when popped, pus comes out, followed by blood
-pus can be foul smelling
-usually appears in armpits, butt, or pubic region
-if popped, they will continuously come back
-eventually leaves scarring and the scars may form a tunnel (after many years)
-usually reoccur in the same spot

I have the same thing. I have had it for years. I hate it; it sucks!! I've done allot of research, and this is what makes the most sense. Google it! If anyone finds anything else or agrees, let me know, I'd love some feedback!!

i have them also. one just below the belly button and a few in the pubic area. I can't seem to get rid of them. they are round and filled with a white pus that is hard. they start as a little red dot. they don't hurt unless you try to pop them.

I know about this condition . It just happpened to me in the last year. Its very tricky how to point out how you get it. It is not a STD. It come from a infection in the pubic region. Skin to skin is how it is transmitted from person to person. As far as I can see it doesnt go away. In women its below the belly button down to the pubic region. I men its basically the same. Usually on the pubic up to the lower abdomen. When he or she have sex with a mate and the skin touches and rubs back and forth it will pass to your mate.
So far as I can see , the easiest way to avoid a break-out is to not shave close. Leave a 1/4 inch hair. By shaving close the rash comes back. keep Alcohol close at hand and use hydrcortisone. This helps it stay dry. Do not lotion the rash or oil it. That makes it worse.

You dont have to have sex to catch this. Just grinding and sweating can pass it.
I have gone to the doctor but she seemed to think it was not a big deal. but in actuality I think its a string of the HPV virus. Condoms donot prevent this.

Be safe evry one!!

on January 8 i noticed one bump on my pubic area when i looked at it it had te same features as a pimple it was yellow on the tip and read around it . im not sexually active, and i do have acne on my face but not a horrible mess of acne. is it possible if when i touch my face and i touch my pubic area (i do not masturbate =P) i could have pimples now on my pubic area?.

The bump or pimple in this case is under one pubic hair and is not in a cluster so is it jst a pimple and could i remove it quickly or do i need to consult a doctor and stay away from sexual activity's? please answer someone

I have also had the pimples in the pubic area and it only accures when I shave. I don't use shaving cream cause i use an electric razer. I am not currently sexually active and have never had sex, but had had sexual intercourse in the past, so i was worried about that but then i found this website and realized whats going on. For me the pimples appear a little bit after i shave and will be showing for a little bit and then will disappear. and i don't shave regularly and it only happened when i shaved. But yes it is annoying and embarrassing considering the fact i was sexually active with my X-girlfriend she didn't say anything and didn't mind it but i knew it was there and made me feel dirty and like i had a disease when i don't. But yes i haven't tried anything to help them from appearing so if anyone comes up with anything other than the painful teasers and picking one hair at a time. Please post if you know of anything that will work to stop these from appearing. And im not the only one wishing for something to come up that works; so please post when anything comes up that works.

Umm if all of you are sexually active you should go to the doctor and get checked for a STI (STD). It may be embarrassing to think about, but a lot of STIs can be treated pretty quickly and painlessly. If you let them go however you can get very sick and the longer you let it go the harder it is to treat. Not to mention if you are having sex you could be spreading the infection around to a lot of people. So please go to the doctor and get it checked out. Doctors are professionals and are well equipped to handle anything that comes at them. So there is no need to be embarrassed and they can't say anything to anyone unless you give them permission to.

Yeah, I am having a similar problem, I got a large red spot on my pubic region, but when I plucked the hair it had an elongated white follicle with a tiny black dot at the end. After plucking, within half an hour it had gone... What on earth was it and how do I stop it happening again?!?!

lol if you have shaved then it is probably a shaving rash if not and you have had sex or oral sex then it could just be werre one of your pubic hairs got ripped out during and your skin is sensitive enough not to like it if none of the above then you either dont wash or you have something wrong with you so get yourself checked out
