so glad to hear it doesnt hurt. LOL all the doc told me os " I can promise you it wont hurt me at all" I hope that my doctor is as good as yours. I have three. I had a lot of reconstructive work done. At the end of the week he will Xray and then said the pins will come out, I will be on week 4.
I had surgery 10 days ago on my baby toe and my pin started coming out after 5 days. Then last night, I put my boot pack on and the pin just fell out. Really weird. I'm on my way to the dr. right now bc I'm in ALOT of pain. Has this happened to anyone else?
Mine was poking thru too eventually it came thru my skin and I had to get it removed
I had 4 toes on each foot done for hammer toes and the toes never caused any pain but my feet ached awful as i was told to walk on my heels and that caused straining in the top of my foot so fr 4 days i could not weight bear on that foot, april 13 was done had stitches out on May 8th and pins will come out on the 25th May can't wait to get my feet into a foot spa
I had my surgery on March 28, 2018. I am getting the pins removed from all five toes on May 25, 2018. I had the pins in for just about 2 months. I am going to be put under, I don't know of any reason why I shouldn't. I'm concerned about having feeling in my toes, if I do does it go away? I'll have to wear the boot for about 6 weeks. Should I be really concerned that it will take months and months to be able to wear shoes?
I am having my pins taken out after two months, how bad will the pain be?
If your in no pain...leave well alone.. tina
I think your note here is bogus. I don't think you had surgery, I have and so far it's been virtually pain free. The only pain I have had is when the wrap between my big toe and the next one came over the smaller of the two toes. We easily took care of that. I will give some advise here, as your foot heals the swelling goes down, so you will need to re-tighten the straps on your boot.
Just had my third surgery on my right foot done in May. That one didn’t hurt bad. Had my right foot hammertoe. Bunionrectomy and weil osterotomy done 2 days ago. I’m in a lot of pain. I believe it’s the pins in my toes. My whole foot feel like it’s broken and it burns also. Last night I had to take 2 Percocet just do get a little sleep.
I had hammertoe surgery approximately 5 weeks ago. My pin was sticking out of the top of my foot which was very uncomfortable. I had a splint the first 2 weeks and went to a walking boot for another 2 1/2 weeks. The boot was very uncomfortable because the pin rubbed. I could walk around the house on the side of my foot. I would say taking the stitches out at 2 weeks was more painful then pulling the pin out. I was very nervous when I went in to have it removed. It did sting but not bad. The nurse said since it was in my bone it would not be that painful. The pin came out 4 1/2 weeks from the surgery. I have had some swelling and pain since the pin was pulled which I was told is normal. Just elevate and ice. I go back to work in 2 weeks and hope I can get a shoe on. I am wearing an orthopedic shoe right now. I would say this feels like a long recovery time and has been painful. I will see in the next several months if I feel it was worth it. It is my right foot so I have been stuck at home!
I just had my pin removed at 4 weeks. It's bleeding alot did anyone else have this
The pin removal hurt when I had it done. Removal was 5 weeks but my pin was 3 inches and doctor said some are easier to remove some are harder...mine happened to secure itself in my bone pretty well. So yes it hurt, aleve managed my pain. I have a high pain tolerance, bunion surgery wasn't as bad. Everyone is different. Either way the pain is worth it for long term benefit.
My foot doctor says if they don't hurt then don't mess with it. If its cosmetic only he wouldn't recommend surgery
I did not even know there were pins. Surgery was after a home fire burned me terribly. I never got instruction about when to remove or how. The home health nurse thought he had gotten all of the pins out, but we did not known how deep the were in or when to take them out. What should do. I have no intention to endure more pain than I already have!
pain after bunionectomy and hammertoe surgery will having the sutues removed hurt. Should I take pain meds before having stiches removed.
