I just got mine out!! I shined a flashlight into my throat (mainly looking at my enlarged tonsil, because I get tonsil stones in it quite frequently) and used Q-tips to investigate. At first I just poked my tonsil a little and then I noticed a little brown spot. I poked it with a Q-tip and eventually it came out!!
glad you got yours out, i tried for hours and it drove me nuts! Then finally i tried marshmellow fluff on ritz crackers and it worked!!!!

Had the same issue - try a piece of bread with a lot of peanut butter on it. Swallow it in as big of bites as you can stand. Worked for me, good luck!
Four days ago husk caught in left throat. Red swelling. I coated it with Rembrandt tooth paste that got rid of much swelling. Then I sucked on a bag of lemon drops (Brach's) while drinking two diet cokes which made my salivary glands work like crazy. Then I ate extra hard malted milk balls and made sure they scrubbed the spot. I think it is gone, though there is still a little swelling left, but I don't feel the husk in there anymore. But if is isn't totally gone, most of it is!
Lyla continued. The next day my throat was swollen on the left side and I am pretty sure it was still in there. But by the next day, the swelling was down and it was gone. It must have dislodged itself on its own. The whole drama lasted six days! I just did not want to go to another doctor again and then be told it was an infection or something else I know it's not! The tooth paste was the best remedy as it got rid of swelling and pain and shrank the area.
I didn't even know I had a popcorn shell caught in my throat. I had a cold and had been coughing with a really bad sore throat. I was coughing today and out pops a popcorn shell. Was I surprised!!!
Had the same problem with the stupid kernal and it was driving me insane, so I decided to try one last thing before I went to bed. I got a toothbrush and scraped the top of the back of my throat by my uvula and around there and I totally got it! It felt like it was by my tongue, but it was up there! Sweet relief!
I had a piece stuck in my tonsil. Only the tiniest piece was sticking out of it. A sterile tweezer did the trick.
Peanut butter on Ritz worked for me. I had the popcorn husk stuck back of throat underside of tongue. Trying to scrape off with fingernail was fruitless as was gargling with warm water. What a maddening sensation.
Okay... I ate seven bananas over the course of a day and a half and nothing helped.
I have had a popcorn husk stuck for 5 days now. Its stuck in a little hole on the right very back side of my throat. Its awful! It hurts my throat is swollen and inflamed. I went to my Dr. He couldn't even get it out! He did prescribe antibiotics because it can turn into an abscess. He also gave me a lidocane mouthwash that number everything. He said gargle with salt water like crazy and hope it pops out sooner than later. He said if I get a fever or flu like symptoms go to the er, because that's a sign its infected and its bad with all the germs in our mouths. I'm still waiting, patiently for that little bigger to get out!
I just want to share my story with the popcorn hull... this horror lasted 8+ days. The husk started out just out of reach at the very low back of my throat. I didn't know how bad it was going to get, so I didn't do everything I could to get it out. It crept further and further, but wouldn't actually go down. Here's where the problem really starts... inflammation in the throat!
I have suffered an unbelievable crazy-making feeling of something stuck in my throat. By the 7th day, I believed I had tried everything... I finally went to my primary care who wrote a referral to an ENT. Having a scope is expensive and very unconformable, so I went home and tried everything again, but here's what I did that I think finally worked.
I actually vomited thinking it might let go the other way or at least leave stomach acid on it to break it down (I know - awful!)Two Advil every four hours to reduce the swellingessential oil of thyme and peppermint in a little coconut oil to reduce swelling (dribbled down throat)thinking it might be in my wind-pipe, I inhaled lots of steam and forcibly coughed... this may be actually what knocked it loose.
I never actually got to see it, but the next morning, I knew it was a little better. I still made the appointment with the ENT... which gave me some emotional rest. As the day has gone on, it's gotten better and better. Right now I feel that sensation of being "choked-up" before crying, but the overwhelming feeling of something in there is gone.
I am continuing with a throat spray I made with Echinacea, licorice, olive leaf, and a little gin... to ward off any infection and give comfort. I do think it has passed, but the throat is irritated and needs a few days to chill.
Good luck to you all... It will be a while before I have popcorn again, but I discovered a nearly hull-free variety, so maybe in a long while I'll give it a go.
I had this so bad one time for two weeks and I didn't know what it was and I finally saw an ENT and put a camera down my throat and to put forceps all the way back in my gargle and pulled it out. My wife called it the 800 dollar piece of popcorn!
