My 7 Year old daughter had her appendix removed a year ago and has suffered stomach pain. When she explains the pain (being 7) she says it just hurts, not like shes going to get sick. When we originally had her in the ER for the pain when they determined it was her appendix the surgeon said it is very uncommon to have girls have their appendix removed that it is very common in boys. I have thought about having my daughter checked however she is on a ADHD medication and the doctors have told me and it is one of the symptoms to have stomach upset. Im lost and confused. I hate to see my little girl in pain and want in some way to help her feel better.

The adhesions are a life long pain from the appendix removal. The scar tissue has caused much abdominal pain through out the years.

I've had this same pain...I had an appendectomy surgery 7 months ago. Had some complications and ended up in the hospital for a week. I still have pains in my right side. Sometimes it's a dull ache, sometimes a sharp cutting pain that makes me almost collapse. I've had so many tests done, but the doctor's keep finding nothing wrong. :(

Hi Everyone i had my appendix taken out in January this year. Ever since my stomach has been extremely swollen and painful. My diaphragm is always distended and very uncomfortable and sore Where my appendix was it often aches and i get stabbing pains. Thus saying i always get the stabbing pains on the left side of my body and up and around my stomach. My swelling looks like it just just after the surgery and the smallest it has been in 1 week after surgery then it has blown up and stayed that way.

I was re-admitted back in to hospital 2 months after the surgery and kept there for 4 day while they did some testing but everything so far has come back normal. Apart from my CT Scan which showed i had extremely enlarged lymph nodes throughout my belly which the dr's failed to tell me sent me home and it wasn't until my outpatient review that a registrar showed me the CT scan and said how bad it was. I was put on the wait list for a endoscopy and colonoscopy but still havent had it.

I am currently in the middle of one of my attacks where my stomach is ridiculously swollen, sore, aching, uncomfortable and the pain then moves to my lower back and aches. This has been going on since Friday night and its now Tuesday  I don't know if i should go back to hospital or what to do because none of the doctors at the hospital believe that i am unwell and in pain. When i have these attacks i feel extremely tired and awful.. I haven't felt the same since my surgery i am 20 years old i look like im 9 months pregnant i can't do hardly any of the things i did prior to my appendectomy and i just want to be me again. Please if anyone has the same problem or can recommend what i can do you would truly be a miracle :)

I think there is something going on with my immune sysytem (hence the swollen lymph nodes in my stomach) but where do i go to get that tested and could it be anything else. Oh when i went for my appendix they diagnosed me as having mesenteric lymphadenitis and failed to diagnose it was my appendix they went in for my swollen lymph nodes and by chance found my appendix covered in puss about to rupture and as the doctor said (very nasty looking)

Thank you in Advance!!

Soph :)

Did you ever find out?? I'm a few weeks post-op after a rupture in August, the waiting period & an "interim appendectomy due to acute appendicitis". This is my first menstrual cycle since & the pain in the area where my appendix once lived is AWFUL.

I also suffered severe pain both in my right lower abdomen and mid lower abdomen for months following laproscopic appendectomy. The pain in the mid lower abdomen was the result of an irritated bladder (Interstitial Cystitis)--and appears to be a complication arising from the surgery. I never did find out the cause of the pain in the right lower abdomen; however, I went to a holistic nutritionist who has helped me change my whole diet and following this diet has helped me to be pain free. I have cut out all raw vegetables, processed foods and gluten--this seems to be really helping with the lower abdominal pain--and follow a strict diet of low acidic foods (no caffeine, sauces, alcohol, etc) and this has really reduced the pain I was experiencing with my bladder. What I am now frustrated with is that my immune system still seems to be out of whack and I am experienced all sorts of other unpleasant body rashes (both painful and itchy) as well as cold sores--which I've never had before. It's been almost six months since my surgery--and I wonder if I will ever get back to feeling healthy and "normal" again. Has anyone else experienced these wonky symptoms?

I had my appendix removed over a month ago they almost burst and i had a drainage in my stomach for 4 days, I have been experiencing the same pain like i did when my appendix first start. It is extramlly painful and I am the same i'm not sure if it's normal.

I hired a few doctors and I picked the smartest one from the bunch of them My MD IS  super smart and he seemed more like a scientist and I suffered so bad for over on year I mean sick where I did not drive or work anymore  thank God for my husband ...Anyhow do some research there are ways to remove scar tissue with supplement enzymes serrpaptase is one of the enzymes that dissolves scar tissue read Dr Airloa Pavvo book Are you Confused? He discusses in his book  way to get rid of the scar tissue. I think  going under the knife over and over seems like everytime you heal it creates scar tissue because our body response to being cut but it  healing. I'm on five enzymes to get rid of adenomyosis and I'm on a two suppositories that get rid of fiborous  tissue. I've read stories where people use castor oil that Edgar Cayce spoke of ...  every night and and soak the area with castor oil and cotton hot pack and scar tissue begin to dissolve. But all of these methods take time. I lost a lot of faith in medicine when I was sick for sooooo long without any answers I finally ended up in Chinese medicine and it helped tremendously my MD has me on program which is helping me so hang in there and do some research
