I think that you should just do whatever you want, Im 6 months pregnant and have smoked weed only a few times,im the perfect size and weight for how far along I am and my doctor has no complaints. Baby's heartbeat is completely normal,as well as my blood pressure and all my regular tests have come back with positive results. The fact of the matter is that its your child, you shouldnt let other people tell you what to do or how to do it, whether the baby comes out sick or completely normal your still gonna love the c**p out of it either way..before people even knew weed was harmful doctors used to prescribe it to mothers for nausea and lack of appetite..if it was that terrible than why did all those peoples children turn out fine..I dont think that you should smoke weed on a daily or even regular basis, but a little here and there could actually be beneficial to yourself and the baby. If you are really that concerned you should speak to your doctor about it..people are always gonna give you an opinion but that doesnt always mean they are right. Do what you feel is best for yourself and your baby and let other people think what they want!

My son and his girlfriend smoked pot right up until their baby was born.  The baby was 3 weeks premature and only weighed 5 pounds abd 4 ounces.  Then baby is 2 months old now and the doctor is worried about the baby's heart.  It beats 140 beats per minute.  It is only supposed to beat 85 beats per minute.  The poor little guy.  I had a lot of concerns about her smoking pot when being pregnant and told them what I thought about it.  They just ignored me.  Now I may never get to see my grandbaby in person.  I am devastated.  I wish there was something I could do

Hi Everyone,

I have studied the numerous effects of marijuana on fetus's and the healing effects of cannabinoids for a very long time. It is only in USA and Canada that there is a paranoid frenzy about marijuana consumption. Jamaican mother's "smoke weed", drink gange tea, vaporize and consume the bud and leaves for therapeutic reasons. It is proven by medical science ( ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed***) that the effects of THC among it's many other cannabinoids on the Central Nervous System actually fit like a puzzle piece into our bodies' endocannabinoid receptors. This not only develops and produces new healthy bodily cells, but also heals numerous inflammatory diseases (rheumatoid arthritis, chrohns, diverticulitis, HIV, all forms of Cancer, MS, Parkinson's, etc...) -the list is endless. The cannabinoids in marijuana are actually the cure to Cancer among the cures to other inflammatory diseases out there.

It is no wonder it is "illegal". The cancer industry alone produces over 100 billion dollars per year from donations and lotteries. The number of deaths from Cancer alone in the time it is taking to supposedly "find a cure" has been more than both world wars and the holocaust put together. That is what we call "genocide". There is a cure. It is the govt's best kept secret out there.

Henry Ford built his first car from hemp. It was the strongest and lightest form of material out there. It also ran on hemp oil. Doctors everywhere were prescribing hemp oil specifically to all patients that had inflammatory diseases. It wasn't until the industrial age that our air became less pure and people started getting inflammatory diseases as a result of free-radical damage on cells. It wasn't until 1937 that the North American Governments strongly opposed utilizing marijuana for it's healing effects in the medical industry and introduced it as being illegal along with the Opiates Drug Act. To top it off, it's oil would have destroyed the oil and gas industry, as well as cripple the construction industry (hemp fibres).

Granted, smoking ANYTHING will reduce the oxygen supply to the body and will cause the lungs to produce more phlegm as a protective coating. The lungs are directly attached to the heart as well so smoking anything will be grounds for heart disease, weakening of coronary arteries and veins, etc... However, has anyone ever thought to ponder that since the industrial revolution, the air we breathe has been worse for our health than the effects of smoking? I have know countless people with lung cancer who have never smoked in their lives. Just something to ponder for those with an open mind...

I am devastated. I'm 23 weeks along and I've smoked weed everyday. I don't know what to do. I feel so ashamed and I'm afraid that I can't stop. At first I told myself I'd only smoke until the nausea went away because I was losing weight and I couldn't eat and my nausea prescription didn't help. But I'm 6 months now and I'm still piling a few mornings a week. I work long hours and when I get home all I can think of is having a few puffs so I can stomach some food. My baby is growing fine as per all my tests but I'm so scared. I worry that he's not getting enough protein or that I don't rest enough. I know his needs come before mine and I'm embarrassed that I've focused more on my own comfort than his development. I don't want to be a bad mother and I'm so scared. This thread seems split pretty evenly between the people who say that I'm stupid and those who say that it's not so bad. God help me, I don't know if irreparable damage has already been done. I'm going to try my best not to smoke from here on out but it's so hard. Especially as my partner smokes all the time. Joint, cigarette, joint, cigarette. I quit cigarettes as soon as I found out but I'm having trouble shaking this vice.

hi all.. I had quit smoking pot when I was about 5 or near 6 months pregnant, but now that I am just now 8 months pregnant, I hit 2 joints.. it wasn't very good weed but its still weed lol.. anyways, I was wondering when I have the baby.. and they do drug test, are they going to test only my blood, my urine, or both?? I've made a huge mistake hitting that joint, but I was just wondering.. if anyone knows what kind of test they give for newborns, i don't know what i'll do if something shows up and my baby is taken away..

maybe they wont take ur baby away but what are you going to do when ur baby tests positive for mental retardation?  ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** inappropriate posting*** Please read our Terms of Use

Mabe you need to do your research before talking out of your ass. If you dont have anything nice to say or dont like what someone has post go to a different website. by the way smoking weed doesnt make a baby retarded.

there is no way anyone in this world can pass a judgement on anyone elses smoking habits or whether or not they smoke while pregnant it is a personal choice i knpow it is frowned upon but take a look at the immiturity of some of these comments one woman who is  genuinely concerned about her unborn childs health and safetey is being ridiculed well i feel sorry for u all i have been a chronic marijuana smoker for a very long time i have just recently quit as i am pregnant but forthe first few weeks i continued to smoke as i had extreme morning sickness ( very small amounts) and didnt want to take ANY chemicals like maxolon that is proven to result in thalydamide babies i am now suffering from withdrawals but im fighting through it and i know my baby is developing well has a regular heartbeat and will be born well

Lol everybody needs to shut up with the negative comments. No, weed does not harm yout baby. And those of you who are mentioning the fact that the baby is not breathing in clean air when smoking needs to realize that smoking or not, we are not breathing in clean air anyways. The environment is polluted people.! We're breathing bad air whether we like it or not.! Anyways, nicotine causes birth defects in babies, just like it causes cancer in adults. Cigarettes, crack, PCP, and other harmful drugs can hurt your child. Not weed! I am a nurse and have done research and i found out that there is no proof that weed can hurt an unborn child. People say that it can because weed is an illegal street drug, so they just assume it will damage a child. Technically, researchers have not come to that conclusion even while comparing children who were exposed to weed to those who were not. The evidence came back inconclusive because it was difficult to determine the outcome of the drug. So everyone please shut up if you dont know what you are talking about. I am currently 9 months pregnant and just stopped smoking pot, and my child is perfectly healthy. Dont speak on something you know nothing about and can only make assumtions from. It makes you look stupid.

studies have been done in the past that show marijuana has no adverse effects on the baby as a matter of fact the children were followed up until 5 years of age and they all excelled academically, it amazes me how uneducated people STILL are about marijuana. oh did i happen to mention that the study was not published because the government agency expected the study to show pot was dangerous to the fetus. They would rather us think that and use pharmaceuticals (which have many more dangers and side effects than marijuana) and I have met countless women who smoke pot during pregnancy and not even one of the babies had mental or physical defects. I cannot say that however for alcohol. So yes you should stop drinking alcohol and cigarettes because they contain harmful toxins, marijuana does not.

Smoking weed WILL affect your baby. I mean come on.it cuts of the fetus' oxygen. Which can cause MAJOR health problems. Some people in this world need to really NOT have children!!!

Actually, do the research. A lot of the same things found in weed are also in breastmilk. The only difference is the smoke, just like standing next to a bon fire smoke, is bad for the baby. Nothing else.
