I have the same problem around my right eye and now it feels like the skin is gaulding. If you find a remedy, please let me know!
seems like after I used the kenalog from Doc under my eyes it looks worse, I think the cortisone creams are a short term solution/bad idea, we need to find the cause of the problem, unfortunately it may be a different one for each of us.
I have the same problem or should say had, I found that if you go get some Stye eye ointment. You put this in your eye and the itch will stop right away and after a few days the rash will go away. Only thing I found to help.
I have had a rash around my eyes for about 2 years. I thought it was a yeast type infection since I am 54 and hace started into menopause. The strange thing is it started about the same time I started wearing reading glasses that have metal frames. Now I am wearing prescription glasses that have plastic frames and the rash stopped being there after about 2 months. Forgot my glasses and had to wear the readers for 1 full day and the rash came back after 2 days. I don't know if it is anything to do with this. Need to do more research. I did find out that most metal glasses have NICKEL in the frames and I know I have a problem with it...
I have a boss that had surgery on his spine at neck level. He has developed a rash around his neck, head and face. He has nickel in the staples that were left inside. I just wonder if these are his culprit.
I have been having the same issue and my ANA and Calcium was low...my Doctor asked about Arthritis or Lupus in the family so I'm getting further test ran....Ladies have it checked out to make sure it's not more then what your thinking.
Extra Virgin Coconut Oil directly on dermatitis around the eye, just a little. keep it moist for a week or so it takes a little time to get started.
Try not to get it in your eye, its oil so it can be annoying for awhile! I have eczema and use about a teaspoon of coconut oil in my bath - no more breakouts/itching.
My eye "eczema" started around my eye after changing shampoo/body soap. I switched that and put coconut directly on it because my eyes don't usually get a lot of coconut oil from the bath.
If you think its some sort of skin infection causing your dermatitis, try using a little bit (one drop) of an essential oil with the coconut oil. Most will do since they all pretty much have anti-ceptic/fungal/bacterial/viral properties. BE VERY CAREFUL not to get Essential Oils in your Eye!!!!!
I have a similar issue- a dry, itchy rash that appears around my eyes, starting at the outer corners. Steroid creams would help, but it would come back. I started wondering if it was fungal, so I put some white vinegar on a cotton ball and carefully applied it to the affected area. Right after, it stung and appeared more inflamed, but within 2 days, everything was noticeably diminished. I've applied vinegar a few more times since and am almost completely back to normal and getting better every day. Worth a shot.
I have had the exact problem with a constant reoccuring rash around my eyes for years. Doctors don't know what it is. Treated with a lot of steriods, Protopic, Elidel, Lotomax. It goesaway, but comes back as soon as I stop using the medicine. Does anyone have a treatment that works?
I've also developed a rash on the back of my hands near the thumbs. The left hand shows red bumpy hive-like things and the itch is awful. The rash on my eyelids and lower eyes is spreading. I have tried oolong tea poultice and it helps. Also topical-iodine. Today I noticed bumps on one side of my mouth near the lips. These are not zits. I am 72 and desperate. This started a few days after I started using a silicone CPap mask. Even after discontinuing the CPap totally, after one week the rash is worse.
I keep getting the same thing they think it's poison ivy but after I finish the steroid it comes back I'm ready to go to a dermatologist
I've had this problem for over six months now. I don't want to use cortisone cream. I highly reccomend oil of olay regenerate eye cream which you can use on the lids and under lids. It really works and I think it's because of the vitamin b in it. Also use sensodyne toothpaste because your eyes can be effected by the toothpaste you use if you have this eye condition. None of these are overnight solutions. However the regenist eye cream is soothing, helps with redness, and keeps your eye skin from being destroyed. Also for some add kelfir milk daily and it will manage your eye condition better. Take a fish oil daily too and remember nothing works immediately. It takes time to heal but you can maange it better with these suggestions.
I have developed these same symptoms a couple months ago. Dr. gave me steriods too and it went away but came right back when I stopped taking them. I have tried everything and the only thing that gives me relief is a product called Prid. You can get it at Walmart. It is a drawing salve. It will not get rid of the rash but it does keep it in check and gives me relief from the itching and swelling. No one can tell me what it is. I've never had any kind of rash in my life till this. I stay home most of the time so I'm not sure how I got this.
