Glad I'm not the only one w/ this problem. This is so embarrassing and this will be my first time to the doctor about this. But after reading these posts, I don't feel so embarrassed anymore, because he's probably seen this a million times! I'm hoping I can get a same-day outpatient-type removal done.
hey all, ive been searching for a while for an answer to my problem. im a 30 year old male with this condition.
for the past 7 or so years ive had to live with these 40 or so lumps on my scrotum varying in sizes, saw my doctor about 4 yearsago who said they were just blocked pores and there wasnt anything i could do about it.
ive always been really embarassed about them, cant have oral sex because im afraid a partner may see them.
well very recently i found a new partner and i really am scared of the possibly losing her if she notices my condition, im probably over-exaggerating but its how i feel. so ive been doing a little research on the internet trying to find exactly what my condition is, i managed to find a picture and it looks like i have scrotal calcinosis.
i have been able to pop or squeeze a few of the smaller ones but they constantly are refilling, the others appear to be slowly growing and feel very hard. i cant cut or peirce the skin around them because it hurts alot when i do so. through reading some of your posts ive noticed that they keep coming back, i was hoping to find a possible cure for this.
i really really dont know what to do now, i cant live with this problem any longer.

Wow, I had no idea guys had problems with cysts this bad. I've had one for about ten years. It developed after I was married, and my wife was concerned at first. However, I was stubborn. It eventually stopped growing, and I quit worrying (mostly). Had to go to a urologist a few years ago as part of fertility treatment. HE explained what it was, that it was benign, and offered to remove it. It was only going to be $150, but at the time I was pretty cash starved. So, I opted to keep it.
Now that I've been through fertility treatments, (and for those of you who've endured that you know that nothing is sacred, or embarrassing anymore) I would offer this advice.
1. Talk to a doctor. IN spite of the fact that it took me 8 years, and the desire for a family beating out my pride, I wish I had just gone earlier. Mine is benign, but I was always wondering, and only a doctor can tell you if it's really a cyst, or something you should REALLY be worried about (as in cancer). If I had just gone in right away, I could have eased my mind about it eight years earlier.
2. Talk to a doctor. See number 1.
3. I can't speak for you guys with multiple cysts. I remember the embarassment I felt developing one six months after I got married. I feel for you guys. And it's not like you're going to talk about that with friends over a Budweiser. But your spouse/girlfriend is going to see it eventually. If you know what it is, hopefully you can curb any problems that might arise relationally and sexually. I can't guarantee every woman is as understanding as my wife is, but your significant other is going to find out one way or another. You might as well be prepared for the questions with information. (preferably reliable information from a doctor)
4. As to the self surgery. Wow. Like I said, I don't have a huge problem with this, so I can't pretend to know how that feels. But I would not recommend cutting on oneself without seeing a doctor. I read where one guy's doctor recommended he do it himself and told him how, but I've also read about fishhook surgeries.
Anyway, I was thinking I may get this thing taken out this year. Like I said, it's a decade old now, and hasn't hurt me, but financially I can afford it now, so why the hell not. Good luck to the rest of you. I hope for some of you that see this you realize this is really pretty common, and can hopefully take a little comfort in knowing you're not the only person dealing with this.

Hi Lads,
Same problem for me.
I suffered for more then 15 years.
After 15 years I had 12 cysts of 1cm :-(
I can't describe my feeling in live with these undesired frieds...
Six months ago I've got the decision to get rid of them. I went to the Hospital and under total anestesia, I've been 'freed'.
Well, the big one are gone. I still have some scars, that by the way are far better then orrible white peas. Some of the small lumps are still there, but are not a problem.
I know they probably come back, but now I feel more confortable and I know how to handle the problem.
Guys, I can tell you that I am so happy.... :-)
Could someone send me the video with the self excision, please?? I would try to perform it on some of the small lumps.
MY advice; don't waste your time or suffer for this kind of problem. Go to the doctor and get rid of them. Start to have a normal life!!!

Ya this looks like the best piece of advice in this thread honestly. But Brent could you explain what kind of heating pad you used and how you "used" it? Where did you get it and did you somehow latch it on down there so you didn't have to annoyingly hold it?
hows it going iv had cysts for at least 7 years i am 25 and just recently i had a problem that im just wondering if anyone else has had happen and what they did about it. i have about 5 of them with one of them being overly larger than the rest and it itches quite often well instead of scratching it i somewhat sqeeze it lightly and move my fingers back and forth like massaging it but this last time i guess i sqeezed to hard and it looked like i poped a blood vessel inside the cyst it was some what sore and i thought it was healing , then today i went to check on it and it had developed into a strange looking scab being a little nervous i pulled it off without any pain and this white pasty stuf came out so i sqeezed it and like i said it was like tooth paste out of the sqeezer now it didnt bleed but a tiny bit and doesnt hurt but now i am left with literally a hole in this lump of skin a little smaller than an apple seed what should i do will this get infected will the hole heal up any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hi all,
Even i had these. I had one for a long time and could notice a couple more recently. Then i went to the doctor and got it surgically removed. I got all the three removed. The process was very easy and all we need to do is wait for a week for the slight wound to heal and the stitches to be removed. After that you wont even have a hint of the scar on ur testicles. The doctor warned me that there is a 100% chance of those occuring again. It has been more than 5 months and i dont have any yet. I am very optimistic that i wouldnt have any in future. But guys please do not lose hope..just see a dermatologist and get them removed. I know how embarassing it is when you have them .

I have had this problem since I was 15, I am now 26. I had 1 big one and about 12 really tiny ones that don't affect or bother me. The big one is bigger than the size of an m&m. This was very embarrasing and never got checked. The last 6 months, its been getting bigger and harder. 2 days ago, i noticed what looked lke a mini pimple on the bump. I grazed my fingernail across it and boom, the whole thing popped and so much puss came out in a thick stream. This had been accumulating for about 8 years. I then started squeezing and drained it out. The hole i was draining from was too small to see any seed like white thing, until today I notced the hole got bigger and I think I saw what this white seed thing is, but it looked popped from squeezing so much. I got tweezers and could only pull on the side of the sack and saw a thin layer of white skin underneath my scrotum skin! I know I need to go to a doctor, but am switching doctors and won't been seen for a week. the skin on the top f the bump has now peeled off and on top of the hole in th ebump, the skin feels like someone pulled the layer of dried skin in your lips, but on my balls. I dont ant it to gt infected and am scared the hole will close up and make it more difficult to remove later. Please help!!!
Very interesting thread. The small cysts on the scrotum is more than likely what the previous posters Doctor mentioned being sebaceous cysts which are benign. Unfortunately they is no cure and once you have them they will always return. They form from norm glands in the skin that produce oil that protects the body from infection. They are not harmful unless they grow large in size. In which case I recommend seeking medical treatment. It is not recommended that you try performing "self surgery" as that can cause infections that can cause real problems. Here is a link to a website that provides great information for treatment and prevention.
I'm 54 and have experienced subaceous cysts on my scrotum since my early 20s. I my younger years I would often pinch, scratch, press, and rub them; and they would eventually seem to come to a head and express a white, gritty, cheesy substance. Sometimes, there was a hard nodule. After my thirties, I had two large (1/2' diameter) cysts that were very hard. all the smaller ones either disappeared or did not re-appear after they 'popped'. I have had these two large cysts for over twenty years.
Three different doctors ( one at age 25 the other two in my forties) identified them as 'subaceous cysts'. I was told they were not uncommon, and unless I found the appearance a problem or they became infected there was no reason to have them removed.
I recently scratched at one of them and ended up pulling off a chunk of skin from the surface of one of the cyst. A scab developed but the skin around has become red and sensitive. I'm going to the doc and will have these two removed.
This is the first place I've seen anyone discuss these cysts. I was fortunate to have an understanding wife all these years and they never impacted our sex. I've enjoyed reading the posts and knowing that someone else is / has dealt with th them.

I HAVE A SOLUTION. I have been afflicted with these since i was a teenager. It is my understanding they are caused by the oil glands in the paws of your skin. The valves littlerly become clotted and the paws blocked causing fatty acids to build up into a cyst like white lump.
You will not be able to metabolize the cyst with anything topical as it is cut off from the blood supply and there is no-where for build up to go. It must be drained.
What to do: go to your chemist and purchase BETADINE and WART-OFF.
Sterilize the area with the betadine, be liberal you don't want an infection!
Carefully apply the wart-off to the white area of the cyst, you may feel heat or slight pain but its minor.
wart-off is an acid so donot touch it and do not apply it anywhere else.. be very careful of eyes.
the area you applied will become whiter and scabby but importantly it will be numb.
you can leave it and wait a couple of days and apply again until the surface becomes unstable and you can pop them easy
or
while the area is numb and scabby white you are able to make a light incision, not so much that you hurt yourself or that you pop it right away. just enough to weaken the cyst. eventually the cyst will be able to pop. I used a acupuncture needle but you could pick the hole with a pin (be sure to sterilize)
I wouldn't recommend this approach when they are very small because wart-off on healthy skill will be painful.

I was just wondering what the dermatologist does as far as "surgery goes" i have 7 very small ones and 1 slightly bigger one that is maybe a pea size if that.
If anyone has gotten them taken out surgically could they explain what happens. I am going in to see my dermatologist next week and I am kind of nervous.
thanks!

Hello everyone yes ive had them as well since i was 16 now im 27 this has been the worst thing to me ever untill i went to the doctor i thought i had cancer i thought it was an std i was so scared.! thanks so much for this post has helped me so much. I just went to the bathroom with a razor blade and tweezers and some peroxide and just did a trial to see what would happen took it nice and slow to make sure i didnt hurt myself. I have about 5 or 6 cysts 2 are big and 3 to 5 or small so i decided to try and take 2 small ones out first. I squeezed my scrotum really tight behind the cyst to where it was buldging out really far and skin was tight and i took the razor blade and poked/sliced it across the bumb really easy a few times harder each time untill i broke the skin about a millimeter or so and took the tweezers and poped it out like a zit there are two parts to the cyst in my case for small ones. One part is a white pasty substance and the other is like a grayish rubbery seedy like substance. The white pops like a pimple straight out and then you have to grab the other with the tweezers and give it a good pull its ok it dosent hurt at all really the worst part is the incision. After i got it out i just took a cotton ball with peroxide and cleaned some minor blood off and put some neosporin and bandaid's on it. Im not going to mess with the bigger ones becuase its just too scary lol. OMG these posts are so funny i was laughing so hard i almost peed in my self haha. anyways for you anxiety freaks out there just chill out about it its ok not the end of the world just live life and move on if you are scared go to the doc or do the self surgery under precaution its not hard. have fun!!!!
Hey guys, I as well as all of you have the same issue, i have 1 place like a hard nodgle right at the bottom of my scrotum I at first thought it was a festerd hair, or boil, then it got bigger and wouldnt bust like one, so I had my partner look at it because it scared me worried it was possibly a cancerous form since i just had a skin biopsy ordered by the doc....but anyhow...one day i was lying on my couch and it started to itch, so i rubbed it the started to rub it between my finger and thumb and finally it burst...like everyone else its like a rubbery substance, then a clear liquid then as i cont. to squeeze it turns to blood..hurts like hell...but keep squeezing ....ihave had mine for about 8 monts now..it will bust about every two wees or so, keep squeezing once you get it to bust everytime you shower or bath or just lying around playing with yourself..lol and with each time mine has gotten smaller...boin each and gold bond powder and gold bond cream is also helping....best of luck....Ken
