Diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and STILL have night nausea almost constantly
Hello. I'm 17 years old, and recently got on birth control, about two months ago. I eat when I take my pill, and this usually prevents me from getting ill in the morning. And I do mean ill, I become very nauseous, I get intense pain my right side, and faint if I stand for too long. However, yesterday, I ate with my pill like usual, but woke up this morning experiencing the symptoms I listed above. Right now I feel nauseous, but ate with my pill like I usually do, just ate more then yesterday because I thought maybe i didn't eat enough. Any suggestions for dealing with nausea? I've tried drinking water and eating toast/crackers, but nothing really helps except sleeping, but it's almost impossible to do so when I feel this sick!
Have your doctor check you for Achalasia. It's the opposite of GERD. Instead of the esophageal sphincter being too open and letting acid up, it is too tight and won't let the food down. It took 17 years, but I was finally tested and diagnosed for it. I had a Heller Myotemy from a gastroenterologist trained in the procedure, and now I am fine. 17 years! They called it GERD, athsma, even said I had pancreatic cancer at one point. Hardest week of my life until a better doctor proved them all wrong. Good luck!
I have thesame problem and I'm only a kid but I asked my teacher and she said its probably because your hungry or need to go to the restroom. The other possibility is stress or you're worried a about something.
Ask your dr to do a gastric emptying test. Could be gastroparesis. There are a couple of medications that might help you. I had it. It makes you absolutely miserable. The thing that helped me most was getting gluten out of my diet. And I'm very suspicious of gluten issues for you. If I were you, I'd get gluten out of your diet for three weeks, minimum, and see if it helps. Google "gluten free diet". There's a lot of info out there to help. Hope you're feeling better soon!
I have the exact same problem, nighttime nausea. Let me know please what your scope shows. I am due to have one in a couple of weeks. thank you
I completely understand how you're all feeling, im 18 and still wake my mum up each night to comfort me when I feel like im going to vomit. This started when I was 15/16 I have really bad bouts of anxiety and panic attacks and before I was diagnosed I created rituals for myself, I couldn't stay at school, couldn't eat or drink certain things because i'd deluded myself into thinking that I couldn't do it. I wouldn't stay out or go to new places unless I knew where the bathroom was and I knew that I could escape if needed. I spent the majority of my time either at home or at the doctors emergancy appointments begging them to help me. I've always been really phobic of being sick and the doctors diagnosed me with IBS, the tablets helped the cramps but not the sickness. I've eventually come out of my shell a little more since developing ways of calming the rest of my symptoms but the sickness doesn't seem to budge no matter what I do its really distressing
