OH my god I feel everyone's pain. I have had a skin rash, peeling, blisters, burning on both hands and it started over a year ago while I was pregnant. I thought it was from my wedding ring which was a cubic zircona (sorry if spelling wrong) coded in silver but I stopped wearing it while I was pregnant. And I have never had any reactions to jewerly before. Long story short it started on my ring finger and spread to the sides of my fingers - peeling, blistering with pus, burning, itching and know it is around my nails, fingers, palms and is spreading to all over. I was worried it was contagious and my general doctor said it's not to others just to me, oh great you can imagine my reaction that's helpful. I have tried shea butter, neosporin, anti itch creams, anti fungal creams, some k word cream, some t word creame doctors prescribed nothing has worked. Walgreens, CVS, and Walmart have made so much money off me trying to heal the pains. Most ointments or items are nummers but if you keep it wet or warm it makes it worse. And they say no warm showers, okay now who really takes cold showers. So this is never going away. I am going to see a dermatologist tommorrow so I am hoping for something that will help cure this. If I get any good advice I will pass it on. I'm doing all the research so when I go in they know what is going on. 2 months ago I went to a urgent care clinic and he was like you'll be fine it's just a fungi infection no problem here's a cream it will heal it. Well it didn't, in fact it got worse, and started spreading. I have a husband and kids this isn't something that makes you feel sexy or safe for your kids. Everyone have faith that we will all get better, I'm going to try my damnest. Meanwhile I am taking Benadryl for the itch, and antifungal for antiitch, aquaphor for the moisture to prevent the cracking, and constant hand rubbing to stop the itch and pain, GEEZ!!

Actually, I don't drink water...I can't stand it. Unless I'm highly overheated and the water's ice cold. Yet, I can drink it out of a running fountain. Maybe I should suck it up and drink some down. Definately couldn't hurt to try...

I feel so bad for everyone going through this. This is my 5th year! I have the cracking and peeling on every finger, Cracking now between fingers (so painful to do anything) tiny blisters on palms and arms. Hives/red rash on my neck, chest, legs and top of feet. So depressing and debilitating. I have no health ins. right now but have been to so many Dr.'s in the past five years! GP's, Dermotologist's, Holistic Practitioners, Allergists, Chiropracor and two Nutritionists. I Have been on Prednisone (clears it up but awful medication to be on), fungal creams, steroid creams, on and on like so many of you. I believe mine may have started when I found some Poison Ivy growing in my berry bushes and I was ingesting the berries. When this first happened my hands were covered in blisters and swollen to almost double in size. I am an avid gardener but had to have people come help me thin out my plants this year because I am so sick and I am so scared to touch anything that might make it worse.
I'm wondering if any of you trying the Black Current seed oil have noticed a difference and if you ingest it or use it topically? Everyone said they would let us know but I have been reading every post this morning and have not found anyone reporting on the outcome. I have no job right now and money is so tight, so trying to not spend if it does not seem to be working.
Just a warning to all that are using bandaids...you may have an allergy to Latex so make sure they are latex free!
I get a liitle relief from short warm Ebsom Salt baths. Also, putting oatmeal in a net type deal (to keep it contained) wetting it and rubbing it gently on itchy/burning affected areas. Aveeno Oatmeal bath is great if you can afford it, otherwise regular oatmeal works great!
I am going to try getting off of dairy but really think it could be hormonal. Anyone with more info on Iodine, please let me know.
Good luck to everyone! Maybe together we will find a cure since the Dr.'s seem to be of no long term help. ")

Just wanted to add tha I just checked my shampoo and it has SLS, also my Dawn dish soap. Makes me wonder.

I went to the doctor last year who said he'd just been to a conference about this very condition 'Great' I said 'What is it then?' 'No-body knows' was the answer much to my dismay! He gave me a steroid cream which he said should help it to get better but not prevent it. I'm not keen on using steroids but did use the cream and when the condition returned this year dug out the tube again. The thing is I can't see that it makes any difference at all.
Last Sunday I passed a market stall selling Aloe products and asked the lady if she could recommend anything, she suggested an Aloe cream with Propolis in - this is the stuff bees lines their hives with and contains a natural antiseptic. I used it that afternoon and evening and was amazed in the morning, ok it hasn't prevented the peeling but I do feel once started, it has to run it's course. What it has done has soothed my fingers, softened the rough edges and made them look so much better. I would recommend this cream to anyone with this problem, I intend to use it as a hand cream and see if it may prevent the peeling returning next year - fingers crossed!

Hi Again So it has been 4 days since I posted and I have stayed away from anything containing SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) and my hands actulally look normal. All my hives and blisters are gone! Fingertips are almost healed! I wonder if the Dr.'s know about this SLS...I think they must and it is ticking me off. If they let everyone know, how much money would they lose??? They want to call it Exzema, Contact Dermatidis, A Virus, A Bacterial infection, Fungus...HMMM??? Seriously, can't stop staring at my hands...They look like mine again! Seriously, check labels...even Cetaphil (Dermatologist recommended) has SLS in it. SLS is in everything that foams, including toothpast. I am so excited to be healing but at the same time I feel poisoned...How could the FDA allow such a toxic substance to be in so many products??? PLEASE GOOGLE SODIUM LAUREL SULFATE. One more thought that those of you thinking you are allergic to metal, you are touching jean buttons after being in the washing machine...laudry detergent has SLS. So many things that we are touching with our thumbs and index finger is contaminated with this stuff. Anyway, hope this helps the rest of you!:-)
