My fingers look exactly like yours and I just took pic today! I went to the nail salon last week for a mani/pedi with the gel. They had my fingertips wrapped with foil while I was getting my toes done And I thought maybe because it was the polish remover that my fingers were soaking in caused this but I've never had a problem getting my nails done. I just got scared because I keep reading about thyroid and diabetes when I type in about my hands. I don't know what to do since this just started happening?

I've had some relief with A &D ointment and covering my cracked and painful fingertips with bandaids and sometimes white tape. Ha! I'll bet you Michael Jackson had our fingertip problem and his fans thought the white tape on his fingers was a fashion statement! Just sayin'.

I noticed this first last February where my hands looked "wilted" and it last for a couple of weeks and ended with the skin peeling off. Now I'm in February again and it's starting again! Also i cleaned with chlorine today (not using rubber gloves). So that might have triggered it. When I had it last time, I bet it was related to chlorine as well. I had cleaned the bathroom with it not using gloves. It may also have to do with stress and not getting enough sunlight. I hope it goes away soon. My grandma has this disease most of you are talking about. She has the bleeding and blistering and hardening of skin. I'm worried that I will eventually get the same. I'm 29, live in Northern Virginia, live a heathy life style, mostly eat organic and grow my own food and I excersice. In general, im a sensitive person.

Yep, I notice it comes up worst when stressed out, as well. Especially exams in university.

Hi, did you have a sore swollen finger prior to the hardening of skin and peeling of skin? I had a throbbing red finger that then dried out, skin split and peeled, now super itchy. How are your fingers now?

Has anything worked for you? I am a very serious guitar player, and have developed the same symptoms over the last 2 years (progressively getting worse). Its getting to the point where i may have to quit my band...

SYMPTOMS:
On the palms of my hands & soles of my feet: Tiny bumps that turned red, shredded white skin, & finally large patches of red with only a very thin layer of skin covering the patches. The "good" skin could be peeled off as if it were dried Elmer's glue. After about 2 weeks of this, it would completely heal for a few days, then start the cycle again. I'd also always get sick every winter with colds & severe flu.

TREATMENT:
After nearly 2 decades of internet research, I found out the problem. I never asked a doctor since I thought it would be a wild goose chase of medication & treatments. I'm not putting down doctors, I just had a huge head start at figuring it out. It turns out I have some sort of problem with gluten. I drastically(but not completely) cut down on foods with gluten(I love bread,pasta,beer...). My hands & feet healed to I'd say 99% & the peeling cycle stopped. I had this condition for over 20 years. For the past 3 years, since drastically reducing gluten intake, my skin no longer peels & my immune system is back to normal. I've had 2 colds in 3 years!

I sincerely hope that this helps others with similar conditions.
