I have the same problem and it sucks so hard. It started Sophmore year(this year). I thought it was normal and the sounds were quiet at first so I didnt really mind. Until the sounds started getting louder. It's awful. I hate being in quiet classes because of the fear of other people hearing my stomach. I'm always fidgeting and making sounds( tapping my pencil)!!! Anything so that people don't notice these sounds. I've asked my mother to take me to the doctors and she did but they just said I was constipated and gave me miralax. I still had the growls and whines in my stomach and butt. So I went to the doctors again and they still said I was constipated. I cry every night because of fear from what's to come the next day at school. I look at other people who are just sitting at their desks with their heads down without a care in the world in envy. I have had suicidal thoughts but I know I will never go through with that so I try not to think about that. My stomach always feel like it's tightnening before a growl comes. I always feel like I need to fart but nothing. I eat a yogurt everyday in the morning. I eat 3 granola bars throughout the day. Why do I have this damn issue? The noises get so loud and I get so embarrassed. I dig my nails in my palm every class like the pain will get the growlings out of my head so maybe then it won't happen. I hate thinking that I might have IBS because I don't want it to be lifelong. I don't want to have this problem I want to go to school happy I don't want to go to school miserable. I don't want to be miserable.

I can relate to EVERY SINGLE WORD of this. I can't even begin to describe the embarrassment and helplessness I feel everyday because of this struggle. My parents brush this off as if I'm just doing it to get out of school. School is the easy part. What isn't easy is the embarrassment and trying to be comfortable. I feel like no one understands me but this just took every word out of my mind. It feels like I wrote this lol. I'm trying to do anything to make this problem go away. I'm scared I'll have to deal with this forever. Please let me know if you've found any solution!

Try chamomile tea to calm your stomach noise (3 times a day). I also find sitting upright rather than leaning back on a chair, and laying on my side rather than my back while sleeping helps with the discomfort and noise.

Eat a LOW FODMAP diet as it is easier to digest & you will have a less likely chance of getting diarrhea. Also, you should take anti- diarrhea pills (I was told that it is not harmful to take one pill daily ..just stop after a couple weeks and see if it made a difference)

Lastly, use gas medication EX) ultra strength ovol. It seems a like you have gas that is difficult to pass which may be causing the noise.
These things helped me ALOT! I hope they work for you as well

This is EXACTLY what i have right now, and it is frustrating. I just want answers my GI doctor hasn't helped AT ALL I've been on about 100 different medications for 2 years, and I've probably visited hospitals and doctors over 80 times . I had depression and anxiety because of this problem I actually thought it was IBS but no medication has helped. My problem also started around freshman year , and I NEVER missed school, then freshman year imissed about 2 months so far right now as a sophomore I've missed 3 weeks wich is progress but not enough. It's frustrating I've started to have a phobia of silent places too and when it would be silent work time I would immediately freak out and cry at times but ihad a pass to use the restroom and I'd use it when my stupid problems acted up most. Getting rid of this problem would be great help.

First of all its no in your head your suffering from bacterial overgrowth it happens to many people and many doctors think patient suffer from IBS your not suffering from that hopefully.

Avoid as much sweet and go on complete gluten free diet, drink plenty of water i mean at least 2 litres include vegetable in your diet, work out for 1 hour and please eat light snacks between meals also go for counselling cause you are having anxiety and pain attacks please do the SIBO test which is mention on the blog. I Hope you get rid of those noises and focus on your studies and future. God Bless You.

Some tips I have:
Drink lots of water
Excercise
More fruit,less fatty meats
Stop the bubble gum chewing (builds up unwanted gas)
Stand up more
Avoid thinkng about it,if you do it would cause you to build up fear and poof! You pass gas or the growling may happen
Eat slower
Stay busy
Take vitamins
Make them think its your stomach
Avoid the front of the class
And last but not least ask to step out,or just say you have gas, don't be afraid everyone does it

Hey! Im 23 psychology student from Latvia. I'm dealing with this problem for very, very long time. Almost 9 years. It gets easier because I'm used to it because I know things that works for me to reduce simptoms but still it's every day struggle. Most important thing is to change perception and attitude. I have idea. Maybe we all can make group chat where we can support and see each other. Maybe then we won't feel so lonely in this problem!! PLEASE put email don't below and I will reach you! Stay strong.

I have the same thing! I get judged all the time n I beg my mom to have me stay home. Ive looked n all i can find is drinking water which really doesnt help. What i do is go to the bathroom as much in the day like in the middle of the class when no one is in there so I can pass my gas. That works sometimes, sometimes it doesnt. Im so happy u posted this im glad im not the only one

Guys, can you listen to me? All you need to do is to squeeze your buttocks for 15 minutes every 4 hours since morning and IT WILL BE OVER. That's it. Now find a dream to worry about and go for it.

Hey I had the exact same problem in high school! It started sophomore year and I finally got my blood tested and the doctors saw that I had 3 out of 4 markers for Celiac Disease. I had an endoscopy which proved that I had it. Since then I just haven't been eating any gluten and the growling has completely stopped! If I were you, ask your doctor to check for Celiac! Good luck!

I've also had this problem in the 8th grade. I was holding in a Fart and My stomach started making a LOUD Weird noise out of the Blue, And I was sitting next to a really Hot Guy. He looked at me weirdly and I pretended like it was My foot or something. That was just the beginning, It started getting worse and Worse. The gas I was having was non stop to the point I would have to take morning poops to get through the day. I really felt Like an outcast and just wanted to be normal like everyone else
