My problem started right after I got really stressed over school and it caused a rumbling noise in my stomach due to excess trapped gas. After I get up in the morning, I sit for around an hour with my legs semi curled up to my stomach/chest and just wait until the gas comes out over time. I don't eat or drink anything until at least the majority of the gas passes because, at least in my case, that generally will cause stomach rumbling. I also take a probiotic before I eat, and sometimes wait around 30 minutes to an hour after taking it before eating/drinking anything else. I also wait around 2 hours after eating to go to sleep/lay down, because this would also cause the stomach rumbling/gas. Stress also makes it worse, so if I'm really stressed over something it gets harder to pass gas and will usually create more of it. I also eat enough fruits and vegetables so I'm not constipated since constipation seems to make passing gas harder. Exercise also seems to help.

I forgot to add this but I also drink something before I eat. Eating something without drinking anything will sometimes cause stomach rumbling as well.

I also struggle with the same issues. What I do to help manage it is exercise at night and before school. Also I try to avoid foods with excessive grease. In addition to drinking tons of water. And making sure I use the bathroom before school. Also I keep a little bottle of air freshener in my book bag just in case I have to go to the bathroom and fart. Also I try not to eat to late at night so my food can have time to digest before I go to school. When you feel the growls coming on hold your breath it helps sometimes. I hope this helps

I've had this problem for ages now like it so embarrassing and uncomfortable I've been to the doctors for a few blood tests and they have given me no awnser except anxiety but I missed so much time of of school because of it. Like it's so bad when the class is quiet like I dread it so much like it happened in one of my recent mocks in a exam hall it was so bad it got louder and louder and the stomach noises got worse to the point where I couldn't sit still. I just hate it so much I would always go running to the office and beg them to ring my mum. Does anyone know what this is?

I go through the same thing. Except I can’t stay home I have to just go through the embarrassment but I found if u just breather and not stress too much about it then it’ll go through very slow and barely any noise . Basically take this growling in control and breathe don’t let it control u, u have to control it

Im Gonna Be Blunt.
This isnt meant to come off rude. But whatever tone you read it, you read it.
I have the same exact issues and problems because of the rumbling. Want a simple solution? Its all in your head. No one notices. No one cares. No one can smell you. Hell, its most like that no one can even gear ir but you. It probably *is* caused BY anxiety. Anxiety can be just as asymptomatic as any otger disease! Your a freshman. Your starting a new year a new chapter in life. This will probably stick with you your whole life too because tour just getting older. As you get older your body changes in very strange ways. Puberty is the least of it lol im 18 and honestly. I just ignore it and get over myself. No one has said a thing to me once about it. No one avoids me. Sometimes i find myself getting nervous like "omg did i just fart do they think im gross? They're looking at me! They're looking at me! Wheres my parfume" but again. Its all in my head. And its all in yours. Just work on raising your self esteem and reducing stress and anxiety and managing your lifestyle better. If that doesnr help try special diets. Start with avoiding dairy or a certain protein. Could be lactose or another odd protein intolerance. Were you bit by a tick? Try avoiding all animal proteins(vegan) for 2 weeks and see how it affects you. Try avoiding gluten next. All forms of it. Does someone in your family suffer from celiacs? Could it simply be chronic gas? Have you tried keeping tums with you to help with the indigestion? Have you had alcahol/do you drink? That can cause this too. So can smoking im not sure if vaping can though. Not enough studies. Try upping your iron, zink, vitamin C, vitamin B12, it could be a defficiency of one of those. Find yourself eating ice a lot? Thats either low iron, or lead in your system. Have an old clawfoot tub or rustic faucets? Test that they arent leeching lead. Im training to be a PCT so hopefully this helps you. Keep talking with your therapist because you *Aren't alone* and people *do* understand. And quite frankly, its selfish of you to play victim so hard. Its just bubbleguts. Everyone gets bubble guts. Try taking an NSAID (like tylenol, but avoid ibuprofen if you think your issue could be hormonal) speaking of hormonal, maybe get your thyroid checked, maybe its time to visit an OBGYN, is there *any* possibility you couls be pregnant(im assuming your a female, if not. Just get the other hormonal peices checked) if its not any of that. Maybe its your gallbladder. Maybe you have gallstones. Again. The possibilities are endless. But theres 2 things i can tell you for absolute, 1, your human. Humans are weird and funky ans not done evolving and changing and growing and learning. EVER. and 2, It is absolutely in your head and getting it out of your head seems to be one of the only things you HAVEN'T tried. I can smell the privlage in this post. Just accept it ans learn to live with it. Its not terrible to feel bad about it, but to feel that bad about it is kind of ignorant.

I hope you find this helpful. Im in the same boat as you. For me it started sometime in 2012. I would be sitting down at work and then boom my rectum starts growling. It sounds like a fart so of course ppl will stare at me. So i went to my gastoentorologist for a check up and they found internal hemorroids. I still havent gotten rid of them and the sounds to this day. Im thinking of having surgery to remove them. Imo i think theyres a good chance the noises will stop after. I will post an update when have it.

Please recognize that this is a real problem, nothing that you can simply ignore and delude yourself about. Also stop saying "it is probably all in your head", with this, you are blaming the victim of this illness, rather than acknowledging the problem. This illness, if I can call it an illness, is a real problem and demonstrably exist. We just know that something is unusual in the digestive system. It has ruined my best years of life for 12 years so far an I have tried everything I could get my hands on. It is still here, In real world, not just in my head. All my neighbors will disagree with you when you say "All is in your head". Stop it, please. Also this is this problem which is causing anxiety, among other things, it is not the other way around. I can remember my solid, undevidable study concentration for long hours before this problem started, but know I am worse than a person with ADHD.

Hey, I think I may have an actual answer if changing your diet isn’t working. I’ve dealt with a problem exactly like this. I’ve changed food a bunch of times and gone without eating for long periods of time. Nothing would help. Until I went to the chiropractor. What’s most likely happening is your cervical spine is out of alignment and too far forward. The pelvis tilts anteriorly further than it’s supposed to when the head sits in front of the shoulders. So other muscles in your body are having to compensate while others are shutting off. Your pelvic floor / colon can become spastic because of having to take on a load that it wasn’t meant to in ways that it wasn’t meant to. Your colon can become spastic too. Your nerves aren’t communicating properly throughout your body as well since nerves originate from the head thus contributing to the issue. I say go to a chiropractor who does x rays and a comprehensive assessment of your alignment and then create a plan to getting back to a healthy baseline. I wish you all the best because this problem is the most draining thing to go through.
