I've had this strange buzzing sensation in the rectum too. It's never painful but I've been suffering from Hyperventilation Syndrome which transpired on a train. I got a sudden sharp pain in my left chest and felt nausea almost immediately. Then I passed out! I think it is related to an inflamed chest cavity which is causing spasms and making me breath more rapidly. There isn't a day that passes where I don't feel ill at some point. I can't give you any advice except that when you type in 'vibrations' and 'rectum' in Google - don't click on Google images!!! LOL :-)
Hi everybody. I have been having the buzzing and vibration sensation in my anus for about two weeks. Reallly uncomfortable. It came on buzz every 3 seconds, which lasted 1 or 2 seconds at its worse.
I also had electric sensation on my skin on my bum, groin and veginal areal. very scary and disturbing. When I walk the buzz transfer to my bum as well.
I went to my GP and was refered to a neurologist. He did all kind of MRI related to my spine and brain. Found nothing! He did not have any explanation for it from neurological perspective.
He prescribed me a medicine called carbamazopine. I started it 3 days ago. I took half of the dose he wanted me to take to start with, with the hope to increase it to the required dose. This was due to the med side effect, that made me really drowsy.
To my surprise and disbelief, all my symtoms gone almost completely!! I am so happy about it, but at the same time worried that if i stop the med, they will come back.
So this is where I am standing. I am not sure what cause it, but I know this medicine stop nerves firing. One of the reason it is prescribed is for trapped nerves. so perhaps this is our issue. ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** private e-mails not allowed*** Please read our Terms of Use
Many thanks.

I'm a 31 yr old male and have been experiencing a similar buzz/humming feeling in my anus area as well. Recently had a terrible flu. I wonder if it has something to do with that. I get scared that I won't be able to hold my bowles as it happens.
hello my fellow but vibrating buddies, same things been happening to me, been to doctor he told me to ride it out and not to worry its nothing serious
I went to a rectal doc and everything! he put a little machine several inches up there and said everything looked great and it could be spasms (like someone else said- like you get in the eye- and could be stress related.
I will say this- I had started drinking coffee for first time recently (I have some fatigue issues and probably some IBS) and coffee A) helps me go when I can't go (i suffer from constipation) and B) gives me more energy
Think I'll cut down as well. Thanks ya'll... Wow I so am not logging into Facebook like it's asking me to do to post this. I'll stay as a "guest"
