Well if you self control works on 0!!! U are and will be one !!! Till the day u die !! That's what God gave us brain for so we control ourselfs !!! Dont listen to this BS I did have dope for 4 years and being clean for 3!! Can easily stop having 1,2 drinks !! Bs
Do you talk about insomnia on this stuff too and anxiety?
Wow I just ask if I could have a couple of glasses of wine while on Suboxone, I had to laugh when I read yours. I'm new to Suboxone two weeks now, I don't like it but my ankles are swallowing and I haven't had an ounce to drink.
Yup what he/she said. I looked for answers to this question bc I was just put on subs by a doc for my opiate/heroin addiction. And wondered if I could drink wine while on them. Not bc I wanted to take them recreationally. My question is...why the hell would anyone want to take subs for fun?!
So untrue. I have a gf now who been taking Suboxone for years now she's drinking again. It's killing her.
I have been sober for over 20+ years and still get tipsy at LEAST three to four times a month. Sounds like you are still fresh into your 12 step program. The only thing that will stop you from doing drugs is you saying NO. That's it. No special training required. When/If you are ready to grow up, you will...or you wont. End of story.
No. Drinking and taking suboxone will not cause you to throw up. What will cause you to throw up is going 24 hours without dope, taking a suboxone and instead of getting sleep, you get sh*t faced. NEVER DRINK the first couple days on suboxone. Not because it doesn't mix well, but because you body is in such a shock that it is most likely to throw up any type of poison you try to ingest (for example, alcohol). I drank every night on subs for four weeks straight and then hopped off. LITERALLY NO withdrawal, what so ever, from either. Never threw up once. They don't even pull on the same receptors in your brain. Alcohol pulls on your MU receptors in a sort of round about way because it releases a sh*t ton of dopamine that will inevitably try and latch on but the effects are non-existent to the point where NOT A SINGLE STUDY has been funded to study the secondary effects of alcohol after its latches onto your GABA A receptor and releases all that dopamine. Guys, read a book. Roll up your sleeves. Get involved for Gods sake.
That's not true I have been addicted to heroin for over 17 years and also have been on Suboxone for 3 I drink every once and a while and yes if you were to put pills or heroin in my face or on a table well then I would once again be high for sure but beer and hard a I have had a six pack in the fridge for 6 months now and really if I was addicted to everything there would definitely be no beer mouth wash rubbing alcohol or habd sanitizer in my house because I would be trying anything to get drunk so I don't believe if u stuggle with one than u struggle with all this is small minded thinking that your drug class teaches you as long as I stay away from opiates I'm fine and I can drink on subs and have no bad reactions it all about you and what your body can take it not good idea to drink but nother is taking Suboxone so we all human
That’s so not true! Some people do have more than one addiction and others have never been addicted to anything in their life and get addicted to opiates. You have to eat food everyday and control yourself and believe me food is a drug. If you want to say your an addict of anything and everything than that can’t hurt you but to say that everyone who had an addiction of any kind is an addict of everything and always will be is not true. I know many people who got addicted, sought help and it’s now been years and years and they lead great lives and are not addicts anymore. They will never do that one thing but they have a drink with dinner or whatever the case maybe . When you join some of these rehabs or 12 steps it’s like a cult! You learn all the lingo and push it it on everyone and that’s what they sell but many other doctors and rehabs do nit subscribe to that mentality.
I've been on the subs for a long time. I've never gotten drunk, but I've had a few extra stouts. I've never had any issues. I think the key is "moderation". If you're there to get drunk, then it's going to happen, and being on subs isn't going to help at all, let alone any dangers that might come with it.
I would say "my opinion" would be that a couple/social drinking isn't going to do much. Getting drunk, is a bad idea. This stuff if no joke, and I don't know how it would effect the respiratory system with large amount of alcohol. I'm going to do everything I can to keep from finding out. This is my 4th day off the subs. I got down to .125mg before jumping off the train. Honestly, things are going very well. Much better than I expected. Granted it's only day 4, but I thought I would be in full detox by now. Detox = Hell "in my humble opinion".

Badass I got no clue how old this thread is but thanks to Feds/trump I'm Republican but ehh... I'm basically now forced off my subutex, allergic to whatever they added in oxone makes me seize. I got 1 good dose left n 3 strong beers. I've been off heroin meth n alcohol except 2 shots total on 2 occasions is it worth doing the tex n the booze, or just booze been off subs for... almost 24 hours meow
Its bull sh*t come on really i do it
I have been on Subs for 5 years. I take 2mg a day and am working towards being completely off of it. I just wanted to see what others input is on this subject...
Before I was on subs I never had really bad hangovers. Ever since I got on subs, Im fine when im drinking, but the next day, it is like the worst hangover imaginable, if I have 5 beers the night before I wont even be able to hold down water or food until late into the afternoon. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks
