Hi. I am glad I read all of these replies after my surgery. I am almost certain that I would not have gone through with it had I seen all the responses. I guess I am a very lucky. While I was knocked out for the surgery and had a hangover for two days afterwards due to the anesthesia, I took no other pain killers. I asked for and was given Tramadol in cased I needed it but did not take any. The pain is manageable until I have a BM. Then it feels like a cross between crapping glass and passing a file. Very, very painful. I think the part that has caused me the most problem is the constant feel that I need to have a BM. This is helped a great deal by sitting in the tub or a warm shower, but never really goes away. It becomes mind over matter because I know I don't have to go...I just have to convince myself of that. Sometimes I win...sometimes I lose. I have also had a lot of blood. My wife says it looks like menstrual blood - I won't go into why. The women know. As an aside, if this is what women go through once a month, it is obvious God was not a woman. My blood loss has been large each time...sometimes I think a pint. Once, I actually got a little dizzy from the loss. I am a week out and I hope yesterday will be my last large loss of blood. No real pain, however. I wear ladies pad to cross any leakage but otherwise seem to be ok. I also have a skin tag, but it is getting smaller and turning back to a natural color from its very angry red. I try to take walks to keep active and that helps. My wife has been a total trooper. I don't know how I would have gotten through this without her. Not sure I would do this again...

I had a hemrrhoidectomy a week ago. Around the 4th day after surgery I noticed a small red bump around the anus and thought it was just irritation. Then a couple days later it turned into a small red painful ball, maybe the size of a small pea. doctor says it's a skin tag and it will go away. did yours ever go away?

I just had my surgery 5 days ago and the swelling appears to be getting larger or might I say not reducing in size at all. Can you provide some info as to if your "accessory hemorrhoid" went away an if so about how long did it take. Thanks
I urge you to avoid fiber it causes constipation it self & try to read Fiber Menace book & you'll see how you can have soft stool once you achieved that your pain will come down dramatically & so do the swelling so please avoid fiber & avoid excess water drinking! You can have cucumber to make stool soft for potassium (K) you'll thank me afterwards I swear by the Fiber Menace book it saved me from misery!
With all the bleeding and leakage what did you use to soak it up and not ruin clothes or be embarrassed for accidents? I go in tomorrow to remove a stage 4 internal hem. and removal of a mass that has to be biopsied. I have done the miralax and milk of magnesia (MOM) today and have to get up at 4 ish AM to do an enema. Enemas never worked before so I better hope this time it does. It's a long drive and I don't have a lot of sphincter muscle so I am going to wear depends
I have to share with you this I grew up in Africa and experienced people that went through hemorride procedure ever did I see it took more than 2 week to get to full recovery and I already in my 8 days and I am not near to recover

I don't know - doctor said internal might take 8 weeks - can't imagine why or why something can't be done to give some comfort - not in pain; just feel like always have to "go" Good luck. I just hit wk 4
