Hi. I've personally found a cure. I had the tips of my fingers constantly go through the cycle of going numb, then looking like a callous or dead skin, me peeling it off then repeat. It started with my thumb then moved to the rest of the fingertips. Soon I constantly had peeled looking finger tips. I had this problem for about a year. I also had a problem with this sort of build up under my toe nails. It was white and looked like white fiberous material. 3 of my toe nails went black. This is when I went to see the dermatologist. They did a culture on the scrapings and lab results said it was a fungus (I forget the name - starts with an 's) So my doctor prescribed 'fluconazole' and said it would take a really long time to work if it did work. I started the process. 5 months in and no change. I went on a hunt over the internet for cures. I read over 30 articles and browsed through dozens of forums. I decided on this regime. I would continue the fluconazole as prescribed but I would also start taking tumeric capsules (MUST have bioprine, black pepper extract or pepperine for absorption) every day AND apply vicks vapo rub on my blisters on my fingers at least 3-4 times daily. The fluconazole fights a wide array of micro-organisms. Apparently the tumeric capsules (2-3 times a day) both boost the fluconazole and if used by itself may cure the problem. The vicks vapo rub kills bacteria and prevents bacteria from dwelling on the area. I don't know if this regime will work for everyone but after visiting the dermatologist several times and having them experimenting/fumbling with several creams and pills with no result. I have finally found something that worked. I have problem skin in general, especially my feet. My hands and nails are totally clear. I've started the regime on my toe nails that were black and you know what? The colour is returning. I've read a lot of people who were on fluconazole for a year and still no change. I believe the tumeric and vicks vapo rub made the difference. I'm only posting this because I'm a fellow skin problem sufferer and I know the feeling of amazement that even the doctors don't know what the hek to do. Its embarrassing and obstructive to your life. I just feel great that these things have worked for me. Maybe it might work for you too.
Good Luck.

Now, I just to keep applying moisturiser to my fingers from drying up...
I would just like to add my two cents seeing I have a similar condition to most.
Initially, I thought it was the soap. The reason for that is when I travelled to hot climates my hands would peel. I would return home in a cooler climate and voie la, no problem. In the past month it's been 90 degrees + (for a month now) in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada and again my hands are peeling. It cooled down for one or two days and I noticed a recovery but the weather is back up high again with this persistent condition. There is no pain involved but constant peeling of both hands. I don't hold much promise in doctors so at some point I'm going to see a naturalist practioner (hopefully). I was wondering if anyone has tried vitamins or a cleanse of some sort. I noticed one post that zink might be a solution so I will try that. Our bodies are a wonderful natural expeller of toxins but do require assistance at times with all the toxins in our environment. At the moment I'm leaning towards a colon cleanse but by the time that happens the weather here will likely decrease and I won't know how effective the treatment is until I experience 90 degree weather again.
The difficulty with this post is that anyone with success with their treatment will not likely revisit this forum thus no solution available here.
I heard that liver problems are reflected in skin problems, specially finger and palms. Problems in your liver can be a probable cause, so I tried to take care of my liver, too. I started drinking a lot of water, as much as I could, and eating healthy, a lot of vegetables and fruits, chicken, turkey and fish are very good, avoid anything artificially flowered, sugars, sodas, flour, meat, sausages and fried food, french fries and donuts are all very bad for your organism. For example eating salad is very good, but try to dress it with olive oil or lemons instead of artificially flowered dressings you buy in the market, try to buy as much natural food as possible for cooking, anything artificially flowered or with artificial food preservatives are not good for you and your health.
Vitamins are an essential part of any cellular process including healing. Some vitamins are more important for healing. Vitamins A, C and E are a part of the healing process for the skin. Vitamin A is a fat soluble nutrient. It's most commonly found in carrots, but it's also found in dark green leafy vegetables like romaine and broccoli. Vitamin C is found mostly in citrus fruits like oranges. Vitamin C is also found in orange juice. Vitamin E is found in nut products. Vitamin E is in peanuts, hazelnut, sunflower seeds and almonds. Vitamin E is also found in broccoli and corn oil.
Do not buy vitamin supplements since those are chemicaly made, it´s better to eat the food which give you the desired vitamin.
Good Sleep is important, too, sleeping early and waking up early is good, for example from 11:00pm – 1:00am is the de-toxification of the liver, ideally must be done in a deep state sleep.
I hope this helps, try avoiding medication specially corticoid, this damages your liver and health. Try living more healthy and with time your body will cure by itself, but give him the proper vitamins a nutrients it needs for curing. Give it a try, it won´t happen overnight but try it for a couple of months it´s worth the try. ***this post is edited by moderator *** *** web addresses not allowed***
