I too had gallblader surgery 2 years ago.I went back in for the stent removal and he could not fine it. He said I probably passed it. I have problems with stomach pains every day. Anyone have this experience?
I went in to have my gallbladder removed laproscopically, but they wound up having to do an open surgery. There is a large stone stuck in my bile duct which could not be removed during surgery or later during an ERCP procedure. It is still there, with a stent in place. During the open surgery, they also had to repair a tear in my stomach lining caused by a complication. My open surgery was 10 days ago. The staples are out, but the large incision is warm to the touch and still extremely painful. It actually hurts to take a deep breath. Is this "normal" as far as healing time and symptoms? I've been out of the hospital less than 24 hours.
hi my name is sandy. for the last 6 weeks i have been in and out of the hospitals and Frankly it's becoming rather stupid my problems began i was having some sharp pain in the lower part of the rib cage of course i thought it was my occasional "air bubbles" that i get in the same area but the pain got worst lasting up to 4 hours this had went on for 3 days finally i told my mother called the Dr because i couldn't take the pain anymore. and the pain was unbearable i first thought it had to be my gallbladder. So being the computer geek that i am i researched the symptoms of the gallbladder attacks. and course it was confirm by my Dr. between march 5 i had a sonogram done which i thought that was rather cool i was told there was gallstones and one of was 10 centimeters going through a few appointments by the 10th i had a endoscopy done by this time the Dr who did the procedure never once mention that he put a stent in my stomach a few days later my gallbladder was removed got the last remaining twp stitches removed on last Thursday and i thought i was through with Doctors I couldn't be more wrong! got a call from my Dr who took my gallbladder out letting me know that the stent was in my stomach and it needs to be removed so more traveling and removing the thing.
YES IT IS, JUST HAD MY STENT REMOVED YESTERDAY AFTER HAVING GALL BLADDER REMOVED 5 WEEKS AGO
I am sorry to hear of your troubles. If you could answer a question or two for me, I would be very grateful. My mother had emergency gallbladder removal 3 weeks ago. They sent her home 28 mins after they took the tube out of her mouth. That was on a tuesday, from then till the following monday she had horrible shoulder and neck pain, along with abdominal pain. Which they said was from the gas they used during the surgery, Finally on Monday I talked to her surgeon and told him something is wrong and I know it is not gas. he told me to take her back to the ER where they would be waiting for her. They said "They found a very small amount of bile around the clamp, and the body should absorb it over the next week". He said "there probably was a small leak" but after a hour of looking during the second procedure, he said "it was probably already healed since he could not find it during the procedure." the next day I showed up at the hospital and they had her in the Operating room putting a drain in, afterwards they were getting ready to send her by ambulance to another hospital to have a stint put in. Within a hour the ball at the end of the drain had filled 3 times. another 2 on in the ambulance. After the stint was in they brought her back to the original hospital, they would not let her go until they were sure she was ok, so they kept her to the following monday. during that time they moved the drain to another area where it filled up twice within the first hour. now she is home with the drain still in and she is still having some shoulder pain and pain on the side of her neck. from what I understand she would have shoulder pain from the gas from the original surgery which has dissipated by now. she says it has been increasing, Though her pain med's have been decreased since she has been home. So that could be a reason that she is noticing pain she didn't feel when she was given morphine at the hospital. My question is when you had the drain and stint in, did you experience this shoulder and neck pain? How long did it take you to feel normal after having the stint out? Did or are you suing the hospital for malpractice?
I had a gall bladder removed in June 2012. Several days before that removal I had a stent installed. Not really sure why that was done but was not about to argue. Several days later the gall bladder was removed and all went well. Several months later returned to have the stent removed and again all went well.
I had my gallbladder out aug 2000. in november of 2013 i started having gallbladder like symptons . My urine turned orange and thats when it was discovered that when i had my gallbladder removed they put a stent in, which was never told to me and no follow up by the doctor. I have had 9 ERCPs and im sure its not over yet. I really think the doctor that removed my gallbladder should be responsible for all the pain he has caused me. Just had my 9th ERCP yesterday and with this one also came a biopsy of 3 of the tissues in there. Now i wait for results
Had my gall bladder removed was in the hospital a week left with two drains and about a month later and drains still in and filling up I was informed that I would need a stint, after about 3 weeks it seem that stint wasn't working so I had to reluctantly go back and be put to sleep again and now I have 2 stunt and was told they would stay in for approximately 3 months... Jus praying it works this time
i have a stone thats come out in to the tube between the pancreas and gallbladder, so first i have to have a stent then gallbladder removed later, as the stone is in a bad place, the stent will push the stone back in the gallbladder.....
