Hi,
I also had this happen. I had gallstones. I couldn't eat or drink water so they removed it . When I woke after my surgery I had a very high fever and my shoulder hurt. I couldn't even walk. Latee that evening they did another ultrasound , to find out my body was leaking bile. The doctor came in to tell me my gallbladder was in such bad shape it fell apart in surgery. They nicked my pancreas! They explained that there would he a Stent put in to close the hole up. After a few weeks they removed it. I am still unsure if this was their mistake or not. But I'm glad it's over.
I had my gallbladder removed in 2006 I had to go back in 2009 because of pain and they said it was stones in my bile duct then recently in April this year had pain was told I had stones and infection in my bile duct they did surgery but I had to get a stent doctor told me I'll have this issue forever with my bile duct and I'll have to take medicine the rest of my life
Hey people question what would u do. So back after I had my oldest son I got gallstone so weeks later had my gallbladder removed. But the doctor never told me he put a Stent in my ducts, almost 9 years later I delovped a liver disease due to the Stent being in me for that long without my knowledge. I had to have er surgery after one visit to the live specialist. My husband and family want to sue the doctor for not telling me that there was a Stent in me. So question is what should I do.
I'm having my 4th ERCP in 2 months tomorrow :( so fun...
the BiLe is the absorbed by your body is what I was told. That's why I had some much pain.
My stent was supposed to come out on its own, 14 weeks later it is stuck in my intestines, There is a procedure to remove from the bile duct, Now we are checking again in two weeks and, I may need invasive surgery.
I also would like to know if its normal. My gallbladder was removed on 8/3, discharged from hospital on 8/5, on 8/10 was rushed to er,CT scan removed was admitted, on 8/11 was transferred to University Hospital were a bile stint was placed, due to fluid. Per Dr I was within a hour of death. Discharged from hospital on 8/15, went in on 9/3 to have stint removed (ERCP), he replaced the stint with 2 instead of one like the last one. After I vomited non stop where they went from out patient to inpt. Was discharged on 8/5. I have lost 48 pounds due to all my vomiting, I go back on 11/5 to have stints removed. I want to know what happens if I decide not to go have removed?
Why do I have so much pain.. after having surgery on stent put in. I can't deal with it. Pain all the time
Hi. I'm in a similar situation as yours and I'm having the stent removed next week. I had an infected gallbladder which was removed but prior to that, I had an ERCP to remove gallstones and a stent was inserted in the biliary duct. I've been having pains the past few weeks (it's been 7 weeks now since the procedures) and wanted to know if your pain is now gone since you had the stent removed. Thank you!
do you have an idea how dangerous is to have a leak!!! you can die !!!!!!!!
Had my gallbladder removed ,8/3 on 8/11 had 2 stints put in ERCP, went in 9/3 to have remove on a ERCP they took out put 2 more in, then I am post to have removed this Thursday I am debating on if I want to, over this. What happens if you leave in?
Did you have it removed?
Husband had gallbladder removed sat.went home Mon.back to ER.wend.throwing up terrible pain in stomach kept him I feel if stone is to big go thru duct the Dr.should of seen it during surgery. Need to do complete job instead of half ass
My surgeon messed up my gallblader surgery so after my stomach filled up with bile and I wasn't admitted to the hospital till I went to er three times when they found the bile, which she said could be blood btw, the gi Doctor came in and said he'd put a stent in to repair the damage. So it's a mistake on your docs part to get a stent put in. Hope that helps.
hello I have tht done and ive have a stents put in but I have to have the rest of my stone shatter with spy glass
