I have been suffering from unexplained, intense stomach cramps that happen usually after I get out of the shower, when my body goes from the hot water to the cold air. It almost always happens during this time, otherwise its when I go outside into cold weather from a warm interior. The cramps last about 3 mins and are intolerable! I have had CAT scans, x-rays taken and talked to two different doctors about it but they have come up inconclusive. At first I thought it was the medicine regime I take daily but even if I don't take it, the cramps happen as long as the temperature severe shifts. I can't really figure out what the cause is. Does anyone have ideas?

THANKS
i had this same thing.

it lasted for a week when winter first came, what my nanna told me to do was put heating pads in your hoodie pocket and when your at home put a hot towel from the dryer to ease the cramping, it helped me to put a heater in the bathroom then when you get out the bath turn it off, and let your body get gradually cooler instead if walking straight into the cool air

Hi, I've been suffering from the same condition, It's awful!!

I get the cramps whenever my stomach feels a breeze or cool air, and it only happens in summer, the A/C is the worst thing for me, shower or no shower. And I usually have unpleasant visits to the bathroom, it's like I get poisoned the moment I get the cramps .

I was just wondering if you found a solution, every time I explain my situation to anyone they look at me all confused. No one suffers from this or understand what I'm saying.

You aren't the only one. I have been awake half the night with stomach cramps but no intestine problems at all. With me it kicks in during the evening of the day it happened. It has happened many times to me over the years but always when I have been lightly dressed because the weather was warm. I'm sure it's a chilling around the waist that's the cause. Conversely, the prevention is to cover the waist unless it is very hot weather. Glad I'm not a girl, I could never wear a crop-top.

I have the same thing
If my feet are cold then I'll get gas
When the weather changes quickly, I end up getting the wake up at 4am with cramps.
I grab a hot water bottle and place on my feet then 10mins later my stomach.
It's gotten so bad before where I have to take medicine, as I don't really ever take medicine.
I find no gas helps.
Tablets for gas, stomach cramps and booting of the stomach.

It's the worse thing ever.

The cold stomach/gas want to kill you syndrome!!!

Hi I suffer the exact same thing and have done so since being diagnosed with ibs. If I get a cold breeze or stomach feels cold I get cramping and sometimes diarrhea.  The only solution is to keep my stomach warm so I am almost always wearing a tank or lycra singlet under any top unless it's very hot and I just get away with a singlet.  I can't wear flowy tops or supeshort tops and like you when I tell someone they think I'm nuts.

Hi everyone, I have had to deal with this all my life, well for as long as I can remember anyway. I too get stomach cramps when I go from a warm environment to a cooler environment. Air con is the worst - I hated going into libraries when I was studying!! These days, walking into big warehouse sized hardware stores is a killer - instant cramping! It's amazing to see I'm not the only one. We must have some kind of hyper sensitivity to temperature changes. I have very much found that wearing a singlet under my tops has helped. I sometimes wrap a scarf around my waist for extra warmth. It would be great if someone did a study and discovered the root cause of our issue.

it's incredible so many people suffer with this. I've had it ever since I was a kid and it tended to happen when I went in to a cooler room or into a shop. whenever i said something no one understood what I meant and now i've found my little cousin gets it too. genetic maybe?

I read a thing earlier that suggested this kind of stomach ache could be cause by a seratonin imbalance. So if your prone to adrenaline rushes this could be the reason.

Yup me too. I've been suffering with this since I was a child, but when I try to explain, people think it's just my imagination. Even a doctor dismissed it. Because of this I wear warmer underwear than normal people. I found I get cramps even when my feet are cold, so I have to wear socks nearly all the time, except for when it's really hot. Very, very annoying thing. I think it's genetic, my mum has the same problem.

I always get had it; ever since I was a kid. Another reason that I hate the summer. Air Conditioning makes my stomach queezy and crampy. I have to step outside into the heat just to soothe it. Fans do not bother me; only A/C. I have a high metabolism; but my feet are always cold. I weat socks in the summer time sometimes just to keeo my feet warm. i really hate the summer,

dear all. they think you are nuts cuz the culture in america does not believe in getting an upset stomach from cold air. in the middle east it's a very common cause for all sorts of stomach flu and common cold. if you dont keep your stomach warm you get hit with it, i lived in the USA and i am Lebanese. and my family in the states think i am nuts when i tell them this. but here even the doctor asks you to stay warm. when you change temperatures your body organs react and it's one of the things that cause upset stomach and even sometimes common cold. A/C is the worse thing. keep your stomach warm and if you turn it on in your car keep it away from your face and body.

Well i see we're not alone ..i suffer same thing..super strong cramps when i turn on the ac. Diagnose ibs" and i think the seratonin problem is another caused . I have suffered anxiety for many years. So I experiment the sweats and constant change of body temperature...that is diagnosed as a low hormone imbalance..! The worst thing is that once i tried two cotton shirts to prevent the cramps...bad idea! I got hot sweat blisters all over my skin..i feel miserable..barely 41..and i cant enjoy life like anybody else..welcome to the club! Any suggestion?
