Thank you so much! I know that mine is a pH problem. My boyfriend and I have been regularly doing the deed and I had forgotten about the pH of semen. Very helpful!!!

I just had a my paragard IUD removed after 5 years. In that 5 years time I constantly battled with BV and yeast infections. I can say now that it has been removed I already after 2 weeks have noticed my lubrication levels have increased and my scent has definitely changed. I feel like I have returned to my old self. The heavier longer periods were annoying but tolerable for the convenience of not having to worry about pregnancy and my body with hormones but the ongoing infections, change in lubrication and odor became the place I drew the line.

I have had 2 BV's and the same rotten smell. No matter how much i wash, change my pantyliner, or anything, NOTHING seems to work. i got the Mirena about 4 months ago and i have been loving the light to no cycle i have had but the smell of my private area is atrocious to me. i feel like everyone around me can smell me. What can be done besides taking it out?

Maybe there is a remedy..
I struggled with smelly discharge for two years, that's mean since my copper coil had been fitted. Visited my GP many times, had swabs etc, all results were perfectly good, from time to time I used some pessaries rebuilding vaginal flora. Nothing helped. It was so embarrassing.
But...about 2 months ago I had very bad chest infection and my GP prescribed antibiotics, it was Claritromycin, sadly don't remember the strength, I got better, cough's gone and I have noticed that my discharge changed - No SMELL! No spotting! I feel like before, I am myself again. Still can't belive it really and pray that God forbid this problem will never come back. I checked and my copper coil is still in place.
I'm thinking that maybe all unpleasant symptoms were caused by some sort of infection some ware inside my uterus...?
I don't know and my GP can't give me any proper answer to that. However I am very happy lady again, my confidence is restored ❤ good luck!

I just got my IUD 7 months ago and this is also happening to me. I am not sexually active, therefore it’s not an STD. The smell started about three months or so after I got it and it seems to be getting worse, I assumed at first it was maybe a yeast infection or BV but I have no other symptoms such as thick discharge, discolouration, itching, burning, etc. The smell is the only thing. I don’t like it since my natural smell before was much less strong. I’m embarrassed by it and am scared that when I have sexual next they will notice and be grossed out. Why is my IUD causing such a foul smell?????

Wow! So glad I found this forum. I've had the Copper IUD for 2 months now and began to notice the smell about a week after insertion. I suspected it was the IUD because I've never had this odor before. I experience a small gush of discharge and its so foul smelling other people have noticed it. I'm so embarrassed by it ..definitely having it removed after reading all if these comments and it hurt so bad to get inserted this just isnt worth it. Smh ridiculous how doctors tell you this is not a side effect of the IUD when clearly it is look how many women are having the same exact issue. We need to seek legal advice! I certainly will!

Omg! So glad I re-searched the smell and discharge with iud instead of initially searching for the discharge and smell. I started to worry and think that my fiancee was cheating on me! Ive noticed the smell for about a week or so now and every time I would wash it wouldn't go away. Then this morning after my shower i noticed the discharge. I have had the mirena iud for almost 11 months now and never really noticed any smell until recently. And I've been checked by my dr on a regular basis and have been 100% faithful to my partner so I searched up what it could be on Google and it said it could and most commonly be trichomoniasis?!?! An S.T.I.!! I was literally about to message him and peel him a new a$$hole! So thank God I refined my search!
