Hi there,
I'm going to tell you what I have been through and what I found that has worked for my body and am hoping I can help someone else. I promised myslef if I ever got consistent relief I would tell anyone I could as I was so frustrated and down hearted by the lack of info on the internet
I have a very similar story to yours. About a year ago I had a severe allergeric reaction to Cipro that was given to me for a UTI ( my first ever.) That seemed to have been the tipping point and from that time on would have good days where all was well and then 4-5 days of intense tingling ( quasi-orgasmic ) feeling constantly. Voiding helped a little bit, but it was constant and I couldn't even stand on my feet. Every 10-15 mins I would rush to the bathroom and night time was miserable.
A very vicious cycle of good days and then just as many bad days that left me exhausted and depressed. I thought I was losing my mind and tried everything. It affected my quality of life for almost a year and felt like my daughter and husband both suffered as well. I Had numerous cultures done that always showed high white blood cells but no bacteria. My doctor said if I would have went into any quick care clinic they would have said I had a UTI and given me antibiotics. Problem was antibiotics never worked and the problem would arise a couple days maybe a week if I was lucky later.
Ended up going to uro-gyn doctor who performed a bladder scope and cat scan of my kidneys/bladder and everything turned out normal. She put me on a high dose of antibiotics and out the door I was. Needless to say in a couple weeks pain was back- thank God I had a gyno who was such an advocate from me and gave me the info to look into urethral spasms. The symptoms fit me almost to a "T" and I remember crying reading the posts of people who said that they were now dealing with depression becaue of the constant up's and down's emotionally.
Long story short- I turned to my mom who is into natural remedies. No, I am not part of the company...No, I don't get paid for my testimony or anything like that. My mom suffered for 4 years with female pain, went through a complete hysterectomy, numerous infusions/experimental drugs and the only thing that helped her was essential oisl. What I do is take an unsecented tampon and soak it in a container that I have 1/2 cup organic olive oil and 6 drops each of Young Living Melelueca, Juniper, and purification. I seep the tampon in it for 10 mins before I insert it and keep it in all night long and take it out in the morning. I actually can say that I am no longer constantly aware that I have a bladder/urethra if that makes any sense. I can go about my day and will stop and think "oh my gosh, I feel good". It has been a life saver and the only thing that has worked for me personally. I do only recommend pure young living oils and you can buy them off ebay or amazon- I think the total for the three bottles of oils and the thing of organic olive oil was 100.00. But considering my Uti cultures were running me 50.00 every two weeks and the oils will last you for 6+months.
I told my doctor about my success and she said she is a complete believer in homeopathic medicines. However in saying that I have no medical back ground, this is just what has worked for me and my life.
As a side note I also completely cleaned up my eating. I have been a vegetarian for years..but recently also cut out dairy, processed foods and juice fresh fruits and vegetable every daywhen I can. The body is a complete system and when you feel the difference in your body/energy level you won't even miss the junk. Once againt this is what has worked for me and I wish you all the best in finding optimal health

Ladies,
I finally stood up and began fighting for my life back, mind, body, and soul! You may not be there yet but you will get there!

The only way to cure your body is to eat and supplement your body properly and deal with emotional triggers that come out through pain! I've never believed my pain was mental because it is so real!! I'm now certain it could be both at the same time!

I went to an all raw foods diet straight for five days then slowly bringing back small amounts of meat and cheese(not processed). Omitting completely, granular sugar and WHEAT(gluten)! GLUTEN IS BAD STUFF!!

Allow your body time to heal and seek a homeopath!! She will change your life!

Many blessings and great health!

hello everyone! i am a 33 year old female (no children). i had a nasty UTI 2 months ago and i have been suffering with urinary problems ever since:( i have been on 5 different antibiotics over the past 2 months. the bacteria is no longer in my urine, but the symptoms have persisted so severely that i had to take a leave of absence from my job. i have been bounced back and fourth from doctor to doctor..2 urologists, an OBGYN, may many trips to my primary doc and even had a colonoscopy done! all of my tests (cystoscopy, colonoscopy, CT scan, ultrasound, bloodwork and vaginal exam) all came back normal! i was written off by all of them as the constant debilitating pain as being "all in my head" i have tried multiple pain meds (nothing works) and herbal supplements to control the pain but nothing seems to work and i feel like this has completely taken over my life! i am lucky that i have good insurance and a patient husband! i was at the end of my rope and my Mom suggested that i go to a naturapath (homeopathic) doctor. at this point i am willing to try anything so i went to her yesterday and she asked me if i had ever been tested for yeast? i just assumed that whenever a doctor took urine they checked but it turns out they don't! she believes that i have a yeast (Candita) infection that has spread to my bladder and urethra! she said that you don't necessarily need to have itching and cottage cheese like discharge to have a yeast infection and most modern medicine docs don't usually check for it! i am currently taking Diflucan 100 mg (brand not generic, apparently the generic doesn't work as well) every other day for 30 days as well as cornsilk capsules (herb) and marshmallow root (herb) i will keep you all posted on my progress (hoping that there is some) worst comes to worst i am going to see a Johns Hopkins gyno-urologist (rated number 2 for healthcare in the world) so i have a back up plan if all else fails! i am keeping my fingers crossed for myself and all of you!! BIG (((HUGS)))

Hi all,
I have read through countless threads like this and cried myself to sleep night after night as I have had urethral pain and irritaion and blood in my urine for 2 months now with no infection. I was at my wits end after been given antibiotic after antibiotic, i even went on a cleanse and tried several natural supplement, none of which worked.

The NHS just weren't doing it for me as I am back to uni in a month and could not afford to still have this illness, so i went private and after being put on 2 different types of antibiotic, I finally had a cystoscopy last week and on first glance, my bladder looked fine, but then when filled with water and stretched, it looked sore and irritated as a result of the infection i had in June at the beginning of this nightmare. This was what was causing the blood and also, surprisingly to me, the pain in my urethra. I have been put on a month supply of amitriptyline 10mg one in the morning and one at night. They are antidepressants and they make me extremely tired, but i am now getting used to them. They have being prescribed to relax my bladder and allow it to heal. I have been on them since my appointment and I already feel better with much less blood in my urine. it's a miracle. I feel like I am been given a second chance at life and I promised myself if i found an answer id come back on here to give hope to others reading this, as I know how terrifying it can be. There IS an answer out there. Suggest this to your doctors if you think it could help you.

I hope I can help someone, or give someone hope. Remember , most people that post on here haven't found an answer as those that do would just forget about it and get on with their lives, not bothering to post about it anymore on the internet. You WILL get better.

Please please please consider a raw food diet and flaxseed for your inflammatory problem!! Omit wheat, dairy and meat! For 10 days!! I PROMISE you will feel the difference! I went 3 years with these problems and was even suicidal.

We MUST give our bodies the nutrients to heal and omit the irritants! Go organic if you can but keep it RAW foods only for 10 days!!

If you are interested in healing yourself and need support please let me know!! I'm a new woman!!

Many blessings and a life free of pain!!

hello all! i wanted to update everyone on my situation! after going to a naturapath doc and a gyno-OBGYN, i have finally been diagnosed after months of pain!! i have pelvic floor dysfunction "tightness" after my horrible UTI in June my muscles "down there" tightened up like a rubber band and was causing me severe pain and UTI symptoms!! i never would have believed that all the pain was caused by this, but in my case it IS!! i am on a low dose of Xanax (muscle relaxer) twice a day and am going to PT and i feel 90 percent better!! its amazing that it turned out to be something so treatable! if all other doctors have failed you, please see a gyno-urologist, it could just be the answer! i hope you all find some relief soon! ((hugs))

Hi
thank you for the tip on using essential oils. Could you please list them again, as I believe there is a typo : Melelueca, Juniper, and ?
Would adding tea tree oil in small amount to the mix be a good idea?
Thanks again

Hi everyone - I suffer from UTI's fairly often and found that I have the pain in my urethral area for some days after the infection. I did some research and I think that Marshmallow Root herb is absolutely amazing. It is a demulcent which means it coats all the mucus tracts in your body - in cluding the urinary tract, so that everything flows more smoothly. It took the pain away for me within 2 days and Has also greatly reduced the number of UTIs I get. Please give it a try, good luck. Please give it a try - good luck. [/quote

How much marshmallow root and what brand? And did you take it as a tea or capsules?

Thanks!

Sharon

Yes, I keep wondering as I read these, how much marshmallow root tea, and/or slippery elm, how often....I want to do some of these but am not sure...:) Thanks for all replies although I know this is an old thread.

Have you ever been tested for interstitial cystitis? I have IC and also urethral swelling and sometimes acute full urinary retention from the swelling (I guess). For years I felt like I had UTIs but when they would do the urinalysis it contained no bad bacteria. Then finally I had a potassium test done where potassium was inserted into my bladder through a catheter (very painful) and if you have IC it will burn and if not, it won't. Just a guess...I know it helps at least to know what you're dealing with. I sincerely hope you do not have IC though, it stinks.

i was you,i would order some vitamins, probably you had a strong medication taken that burned your bladder walls, the lining! so you need repaire of your bladder wall and urethra is connected and cracks are letting natural bacteria touch the nerve and thats what causes your pain! its gonna take some time before you findout what to do about this pain! my doctor recomended colostrum from new zeland and i took that for a year and i got no pain no more.quercetin would be a booster, and u have to make your urine less acidic and drink water with drops of alkaline water. this also could happen from eatting to much salty food
