Hey Painisawful -- I was recently tested for ureaplasma and was positive. I took 7 days of Doxy but had an allergic reaction and switch to a Z Pack. The symptoms didnt resolve so I retested. This time it was negative. This SO doesnt make sense! Any insight??

There is a natural supplement on amazon called prelief. I have not tried it yet but it seems like the people who have are very happy with it if they have interstitial cystitis. I will be purchasing it in the hope that my pain and urinary frequency will go away. Hope it helps.

Omg me too, same thing, I had a bad bladder infection, but then I didn't anymore after tests. Just pinching really bad after I pee, then it goes away after I drink water and my bladder fills. I had a cystoscopy done and they found nothing, but ruled out ic and cancer I guess. Just got spasm medicine, I hope it helps and doesn't quit working. Ugh so frustrating as I am a school teacher. I've only had it three months tho, nine years sounds scary!

Cranberry juice is not recommended for interstitial cystitis. It burns. One has to make the urine moe alkaline, not acidic.

I am currently going through the same thing it started in Nov 2013 and no one seems to know what the heck is wrong with me...all the symptoms posted on here is exactly what I am going through.  What a night mare...I have been on antibiotics for almost 6 weeks now which seem to help but @ night it's worse...so weird.  I have gone to the emergency room and they didn't know what to do with me I was in so much pain they sent me home...I can't believe there aren't any competent doctors out there that can put a name on this and treat it...

Did you ever get yourself checked out since new symptoms started recurring? I had a polyp removed yesterday at a hospital surgery center. My doctor seems to think it is benign, but, had to send it in to be check by pathology. My first symptoms were bleeding. I was told I was probably born with this polyp there, but, who knows. I am hoping I won't get anymore. How are you? Christine

Tea Tree oil is applied topically.

Has anyone who's got UTI symptoms w/o bacteria in their urine, tried restoring the good bacteria in the intestine and bladder?  I know yogurt is encouraged after a course of antibiotics, but that is usually for the vagina and intestine.  I found out there are good bacteria in the bladder.

I know men get this too, but the majority of people who do are women. Mostly women on these posts also.. No one wants to ignore your pain, but perhaps a less combative attitude might be in order? Yes, cranberry is horrible for IC, however some natural cures have helped some people.. We are here to share information, and try to help each other..

Be careful of the cranberry juice.. It can really irritate the bladder.. It's too acidic. I'm trying d mannose right now.

I'm a woman, but have you tried vessicare? Ask your urologist about this. It can help.

NO!!! you put it on the urethra.. You should water it down or mix it with some cocoanut oil.. You can put a few drops in a sits bath.. If you use it straight strength it could burn.
