Those of you encouraging women to put things in their vaginas (acipophilus, baking soda) are going the wrong way...that will give most women a wicked yeast infection.
I started having this problem, exactly like all of you are describing, (thick lotion-y discharge, especially after sex, all over my partner and I, no smell, bitter taste, wrecking our sex life) and I fixed it! Yay! With probiotics.
Seriously, if you are having this problem, TRY A PROBIOTIC SUPPLEMENT.
When this started for me, my gyn had no answer. I hit the forums, and just about had an emotional crisis when I saw all these other women with the same problem, and no answer. But the way I looked at it, there's obviously something imbalanced in my body, so what the heck is it. The first thing I thought about when dealing with va-jay-jay imbalances was probiotics, after all, they keep things healthy up in there. I increased my probiotic intake, and the problem was gone in a two days, completely back to normal in three.
The thing is, it is really easy to be missing, or even just low in probiotics in your diet, because they don't come from many things. (The only reason I know about them is because of a short-lived stint of veganism a while back.) Milk products have a little in them, especially yogurt, things like miso, tempeh, fermented cabbage... but who eats a whole lot of that?! And gynecologists seem to only be concerned with testing you for diseases and infections, and pumping you full of meds. The last thing they're thinking about is your fermented cabbage intake, lol..
I started by eating a whole lot of miso, tempeh, skipped the cabbage, and it didn't seem to do it. So, before I gave up on the idea, I went to the health food store and got a probiotic supplement. And BAM! Problem solved.
So, I would say, start by eating a whole lot of yogurt. If you're really deficient in probiotics, like I apparently was, and that doesn't work, take a supplement.
If you get the supplement, get the refrigerated kind. I'm no doctor, but I have a feeling this is important. The refrigerated kind is way stronger and more effective. It's not expensive, I think mine was like $12 for a bottle. You should be able to find it at any vitamin or health store. I got mine at GoodHealth.
I hope this helps you girls like it helped me. Let me know if it does. Good luck:)
I had this same problem before two months. Actually i thought this is because of sex i had with ma bf twice on the same day.
I thought of consulting a doctor but i dint. I told my mom abt this (only abt this kinda discharge not abt the sex :P ) she told me this is something normal and asked me to apply castor oil on my stomach before going to bed. i did the same, trust me frnds and i noticed the difference within 2 days :-) . really it became normal. but if i stop doing tat home remedy for 1 week, again my problem continues...!!! :'(
i dont know the permanent solution for it but u can you this remedy atleast for a pre-planned sex...!!!
every one had it examined her self and tryed different medicion but no one asked her partner to examine himself with a doctor maybe they r the reason they have a problem and transmitted to the girl,,,
So I have this same problem with vaginal discharge and I've gone to the doctor for an examination and he said it was normal as well. But the even bigger problem I have is with my bf. I try to clean up as best I can before we have sex but he still sees it sometimes and has accused me twice of cheating on him because it looked like "semen". I explained to him the first time he accused me that I didn't know why I had it but that the doctor said it was normal and he believed me but then he accused me again recently. I don't know how to make him understand when I don't even understand exactly why I have so much discharge.
re: same boatYour boyfriend needs an educational smack in the head. You might point out to him that the opening to the vagina points DOWN, and by the basic laws of gravity, even if you were cheating on him any semen wouldn't be just hanging around up there not going anywhere until you had sex with him. Unless you stood on your head until you saw him. Good grief.
I'm having the exact same issue. I started Fem-dophilus last week and will see how everything goes!
Do you all use tampons? I am trying to figure out if that could possibly be the cause. I have this issue whether or not I use unscented everything, summer's eve, abstain from sex, have a balanced diet, stop birth control. The only thing that I have not changed is the tampons that I use. I use Playtex Gentle Glide and they are a bit on the 'linty' side......
I also use those tampons!
Im so sorry to hear all this! Im actually a premed student and im trying to figure this out! i never thought a fungal infection could be so uncontrollably recurring and sometimes with the experiences above-never seems to go away? I got my first yeast infection july 2012 after I took a plan B pill...!!@#$# it was the classic case- I took diflucanone and it went away after a week and after my period past shortly after. I recently started feeling a loss of sex drive and dryness and when i would look at my panties they would have speckles of white. I examined myself and it looked like yeast (milder this time) but not itching no redness or any discomfort.. i thought I was dehydrated... Im scared because they say it can stay in your blood and may become part of your life in getting it regularly and spontaneously. I bought Canestin (1pill) and hopefully since this is a milder yeast infection i will be fungal free in 3 days to a week. The pharmacist told me if it happens a 3rd time that i have to go on stronger anti fungal meds... Has anyone gone this far and has it worked?/not worked? good luck guys!
