Okay - I didn't read all the way through the thread, but I think this needs to be said anyway. The "white" non-smelly lotion-like discharge is caused from your body shedding the epithelial cells inside the vagina or cervix. This could be due to a HUGE variety of causes - yeast, PMS, birth control, bacterial vaginosis, the plethora of STDs out there (including HSV and HPV, which are largely asymptomatic)... so what do you do about it? Well. If I were a virgin, I would stop/change my birth control, stop using condoms, and get treated for yeast and BV.

If I am NOT a virgin - I would MAKE SURE that I've been tested for HSV (That's right folks, a herpes test is not part of the standard panel. It is largely asymptomatic - 1/4 american women have it, only 18% of those who are infected are aware of it), and the high-risk HPV. These ARE NOT standard STD tests, so I would ask the doctor even if I tested negative for "everything." However, the viruses can both cause this sort of shedding. Additionally, pelvic rest is indicated. No tampons, no douching.

I am not a medical doctor, however, I am a research scientist and a fellow sufferer! Probiotics never hurt anyone.

I have no signs of STD or yeast infection and there is no odor to the substance... please help :(

I have been having the same problem myself.. I do believe it is because my boyfriend releases inside me.. I wash out soon as we are done but as we all know its a natural process for the vagina to attack sperm.

Oh hunny, I know exactly how you feel. To a "T". It's terrible, it really is. I'm not going to sugar coat that fact at all. But I do want to try and encourage you about this one thing, even though I have a hard time following my own advice, : we feel worse about it than our men do. Really, I don't think it bothers them as bad as we think it does, but it sure bothers us. Its still wet, and its still warm, and that's really all they need when it somes down to it. But that's not saying I think this issue is acceptable, but just to try and ease your heart a little while you find a solution. Me: I'm accepting that I'm to my last resort before I throw myself in the hands of a doctor again, and pay way to much money. I've been spending much of my free time researching about cleansing the body, how to do it right, and what supplements I'm going to take. Its very long and complicated, and if anyone really wants me to, I can go into intricate detail. But for now, aside from the cleanses and diet changes and herbs, I'm going to do a castor oil pack each night as well. I am compiling all of my years of everything in this battle, and am developing a master plan. That's why I say, if this doesn't do it, I am at the mercy of a doctor. But I doubt its going to go there. I feel very confident in my plan. And I believe in the body's ability to heal itself, given, its in optimal health by its caretaker, to do so. Like I've been sayin' just keep at it ladies, you will get it! But I think we have to gain control over our overall health first. I'm even going as far as detoxifying my home. Not just for my vag lol, for me and my family's overall well being. All of these things are going to take time. Lots of my time. So it will be awhile before I am back with news on my vajayjay. But when I have it, I will let you know. I'm still going to be checking on you girls, and still hoping. Best of luck, and until next time

Before I go out for awhile, I want to make note of this. This is YOUR battle. Yes, we share the same symptoms, and sympathize on how it affects us, but this is your body. Only you can give it what it needs, listen to it on what it isn't getting, what your underlying symptoms are, what path happened leading up to this happening, and what it isn't. Take control over that fact, and dig and dig around, educate yourself on this matter to the point where you feel like a pro, and beyond that! Read ALL the back pages of this thread, so much info is there too. Research STD's anyway, and infections, candida, read through symptoms, and start to get closer to exactly everything you're experiencing. This IS cureable. And you have all the tools to make it happen. I'm rooting for all of you! Much love, I will be back soon :)

I would just like to note that I am a lesbian and have this problem - so for me, it's definitely not related to semen....

Even when I was not sexually active I had this issue.

I'm going to start keeping track of when it appears each month - and a better idea of my diet.

I've also read that tight clothing can aggravate this - which may be an issue for me since I wear tight skinny jeans constantly!

I recently ended a relationship for infidelity on my boyfriend's part and have had the above mentioned symptoms ever since. Like many of you I went to the doctor and she couldn't find anything wrong. I have since tried antifungals, the old school vinegar and water douche, careful washing and rinsing, cotton panties, no sugar, which may help short-term and then back again. I have not had sex for over 2 months and am not on any birth control, but the symptoms linger. I will not have sex with anyone until this is resolved. I feel disgusting and gross all the time.

I used to have regular discharge and it was tolerable. When I got my current boyfriend, it was easy at first to have sex as I was always wet but a week into it, I got very dry and he'd always complain and question whether or not there was a problem with me (like if I just didn't find him attractive or wanted to have sex with him). We had to use saliva to fix that problem but it was still always a problem. Well it's summer break now and we live in separate towns and now I've got this irritating white clumpy discharge that is covering my panties. It's embarrassing to have to explain to my mother or to the OBGYN (partially because I've never been to one).

I'll reply after I visit the OBGYN and let everyone know is she says something.

I have been following this post since 2010. For the last couple years I have just lived with it as my BF doesn't really seem to mind. But I have gone to doctors as I long to have my "regular" slippery discharge back!  I have always gotten a yearly annual exam and it always came back negative for STD's, etc.

I have recently found a doctor who told me she would help me figure this out at any cost. She is young, probably mid to early 30's and I am 28 so I feel she really is on my side and understands me.  She (along with the three other doctors I have seen about this before) state that this is NOT normal discharge. All tests come back negative so we have to look further than the "normal" strains of Candida/yeast, etc.  She called in a very respected doctor in the Houston area to assist her a few weeks ago. He really looked at me and scrapped far inside. Kinda uncomfortable but I don't care, FIX ME! He took my cells from far back inside my cervix and went to the lab. I could here him conferencing with my doctor (I don't think they knew I had gotten dressed and came out of the room so quickly). He told her that I definitely have an infection that is not being detected by standard tests. He explained to her that it could be caused by anything from staph to over growth of bacteria and that she should try to kill the overgrowth of bad cells with silver nitrate so new healthy cells could grow. He suggested to put me on a different antibiotic in conjunction with the silver nitrate. I just did the silver nitrate treatment yesterday and it wasn't bad at all. It took a couple minutes, she numbed me a bit and then used the silver nitrate and topped it off with some sort of cream. Not sure what the cream was. She told me not to take any baths and that i should take Keflex for 7 days.

Today I noticed the discharge of the Silver Nitrate, it is grayish-black and the cream which was white, mixed with my vaginal discharge, which was stringy! I hope it is working. I won't know for another seven days probably.  If it does not work, she has another set of treatments that she will discuss with me. I have already done metrogel, amoxcicillan, boric acid, rephresh, pro-biotics  so I am not sure what else she may have to suggest if the silver nitrate does not work.  I have read the other posts about the "goo gone lube" and essential oils. I have already bought it all in case I don't have luck with the nitrate.  I am willing to try anything to be normal again.

Hi ladies! This is the first I have heard of the silver nitrate treatment. Thank you to the guest from Houston. Please let us know if it works. As a side note I live in Miami but would get on a plane in a hot minute to see your Dr. If that works please tell us her name. I don't want this problem anymore so if I have to fly to Houston I will do it. Anyways I'm still carrying on with the boric acid. It's holding at bay but not gone. My dr gave me a referral for gastro dr. My dr doesn't think this is it but wants to rule that out. Keep fighting ladies!!

TRIEDitall- I am the girl from Houston. (I had a screen name at some point but can't access it so I will post like this for now and set up a new account). Anyway, I thought I would follow up. It is too early to tell as I am still having abnormal discharge from the treatment. I failed to mention in my original post that the doctor did two treatments of silver nitrate, the one I got on this past Thursday was the second treatment. They went deeper into the cervix this time. They said that I definitely had some irritation they could visibly see.

So far: I started having brown spotting the day after the second treatment (friday) and on the fourth day (yesterday) I had bleeding...it really scared me because it was out of nowhere and it was like having a period. Bright red blood and a lot of it but it was only for about 15 minutes and then it went back to light brown spotting. I called my doctor and they said it is normal to spot and bleed but if the bleeding persists to come in. Like I said, it only lasted about 15 minutes and it was so very odd. Today I have the light brown spotting again but no other noticeable discharge.

I will continue to update when my 7 days on the Keflex is complete. I am hopeful but I can't get my hopes up too high just because I am use to being so disappointed with every other treatment I have tried :-/
