I have read through all the comments, and although this is an old post, I couldn't help but jump in. For many of the people commenting on their struggles with hair growth in different areas that are not "normal", it sounds to me like you may want to get checked for PCOS - it's a simple blood test. You may find your testosterone is running very high which is causing/contributing to your excess hair. I know this because I suffer from hursitism as a result of my PCOS. It is awful! But there are many solutions. I highly suggest doing lots of research on insulin resistance, high testosterone, etc. But I will share a little of what I've learned over the past 10 years from my personal experience. In a nutshell: insulin resistance -- increased testosterone = unwanted male pattern hair growth (read: dark, coarse hair growing everywhere it shouldn't be!). The key to tackling this problem lies in changing your diet, along with stress management and exercise. Cutting out the processed junk that has become so normal these days, cutting out dairy, getting plenty of Omega 3's, drinking spearmint tea, etc. This is the only permanent way to solve these problems. Hope this helps someone out there!! There are a lot of good PCOS resources on the web now, I suggest looking into them.
What did your doctor say? I had a condition called lichen planus both on my skin (Down my spine and a few spots on my chest) and it resulted in lichen sclerosis of the vagina/vulvar area. It has been a nightmare. The labia either dissolved or fused. Nothing is the same. I had a new treatment called Mona Lisa, which is laser and am somewhat improved, but still not back to where I go through a day with my private parts being a non-event. I'm older, and have other auto immune issues and type 2 diabetes. All may be related to this hair issue that I as well as all on this site seem to be fighting. I feel like hair is invading my insides!
Hope it helps!
