Hi, Nystatin is an antifungal, so the dr states the effects of an antibiotic shouldn't occur. I'll post an update in a month because normally by then I would've experienced at least a week of all the issues.

I have been in tears reading all these stories of all you women who are just like me... post endometrial ablation and experiencing pain and horrible odor. My sex life is non existent and I shower 3 times or more a day. I am embarrassed and my doctor is not helping. I don't know what to do but I cannot live like this

You poor thing, I had a hysterectomy the ONLY solution , the womb & what's left of the lining/wall is defunct. The pain comes from blood stuck behind the burnt endometrium wall, your hormones are telling it to shed &it cant, as its trying to heal , hence the sloughing of old cells, smell and discharge. I was in agony like labour pains every day, felt dirty and no intimacy at all. THIS PROCEDURE SHOULD BE BANNED !

I'm two years post ablation. I struggle with the same smell but, never got an actual infection. I am five weeks post partial hysterectomy and lo and behold, the smell came back. Needless to say that was the reason for the hysterectomy… Basically I had my uterus removed for nothing. I have read every single thing I can find on the Internet and nothing has worked until I started taking a very high dose of probiotic (A.k.a. Different strands of acidophilus). I've been on it a week and already the smell is going away! My doctor prescribed gels, anabiotic's, and refresh, (which kind of worked) but, nothing else did. It went away for a while and then I started dating my ex boyfriend and it came back again. From what I read, I'm guessing something about his sperm affects my pH and this is the cause of the smell. I never struggled with anything until my ablation. It has been a nightmare for two years and my doctors treated me like I was crazy. Women need to be made aware of the possible side effects before they consider a nova sure ablation! This is been a nightmare for two years and now I have paid with my uterus when all I had to do was take a probiotic! Ladies please, try a very high dose of probiotics. There are several articles out there for balancing your vaginal pH and what you need in a probiotic. Do your research, it's the only thing that is helped me.

I wish I had found this post before I had mine done in May. I'm still having a very heavy cycle and now there's the smell, BV and yeast infections. I have had pain ever since as well.

I had the ablation January of 2013 and ever since I had the ablation I've had bacterial infections like crazy. Before the ablation I had never had one. Also I've experienced reoccurring yeast infections. The smell of my vaginal area has definitely changed since the ablation also. Another thing that happened was I do not get naturally wet anymore which burdens and embarrasses my sexual life. Sex also is very painful to the point that I don't want to do it anymore. Earlier this week I got yet another vaginal infection. This time there's bleeding with this and I've never experienced this before
