Ladies, I am so sorry that you're dealing with these issues and I completely sympathize because I'm experiencing all of these symptoms after having the Novasure procedure 3 years ago. I'm going in to see the gyno next month to demand to have my mess of a uterus removed so my poor vagina can feel normal again.
1 week after surgery, I ended up with an infection and was prescribed Flagyl. I thought everything was great until I started having periods 3 months later. They were significantly lighter, which pleased me, but then recurring BV set in. I smelled RANK. I'd never had this problem before. In fact, I was usually complimented on how fresh and clean I was down south. It was humiliating, to say the least, and I felt so dirty to the point that I didn't even want to return to the doctor. I ended up with a horrible case of cervicitis to the point that the infection was causing me to get boils on my inner thighs and even my breasts! I felt like a leper. I ended up visiting a free clinic in a different state because of the humiliation. I was prescribed another antibiotic and was good for a couple of months, but the BV came back. I've tried EVERYTHING. ACV douche, tea tree oil, yogurt tampons, RePhresh, probiotics, etc., etc. Finally, I decided to order the Flagyl myself from an online pharmacy in India. I was treating myself every other month which in turn, caused yeast infections. Now I'm also dealing with candidiasis in my ears and leaky gut syndrome from the antibiotics. I also developed a large blood blister on my Bartholin gland which made sex excruciatingly painful, but I just bit my lip and tolerated it for about a year for my boyfriend's sake. I thought maybe it was just a cyst, and finally decided to doctor myself, again. I took hot sitz baths for about a week, got out my magnifying mirror, and applied pressure until it burst. I was expecting pus and mucous, but to my horror, it was thick, dark red, smelly, blood. Like old menstrual blood. It took awhile to drain it all. Disgusting! I took some more antibiotics, allowed it to heal, and got back in the sex saddle. The pain was FINALLY gone after dealing with it for a YEAR. But, as of today, I'm dealing with the worst cramps during my period and I have been lightly bleeding nonstop for about two months, which gets worse during sex. So now, I'm back to where I was before Novasure but with the added BV, yeast infections, and candidias. However, after my 3 years of intense research, I did find one thing that works for the BV... insert a 500 mg vitamin C tablet in the vagina before bed. Just the plain, white, tablets. No added ingredients like rose hips and don't use chewables. Duh! ;) It does take care of the odor for a bit and I do it quite often so I can eliminate the Flagyl.
I believe there's enough evidence in this discussion to start a lawsuit against Novasure and I plan on doing more research. I can't hardly wait for a hysterectomy! Thanks for nothing, Novasure. What a waste of my hard-earned money.

I had ablation about 3 months ago. I went on yeast free diet, did candida cleanse, went on Diflucan. Symptoms never went away. After researching, found I most likely have BV. (I had burning, no itching, a clear discharge that smelled musty, like dirty socks) I have found that rePHresh, which is available almost anywhere, is used to treat BV in the UK. I also found that after sex, your vaginal PH rises to cause BV (bacterial vaginitis). The PH of your vagina should be more acidic, to avoid over growth of bad bacteria. Since I don't have a follow up with my surgeon for another couple weeks, I ordered it right away. I am hoping to get rid of it before needing an antibiotic, which would then give me a yeast infection. I also found that an oral tab of probiotics with lactrobacillus will help.
Hope others find this useful. No doubt that there is a connection because when the ablation is done, there is a foreign object inserted, which can cause a disruption of the PH. Also, I don't have periods AT ALL, so I am guessing there isn't the natural "clearing out". I couldn't live with my symptoms, so I don't regret the ablation, I just think I need to learn how to manage the PH of my "new normal ".
