It will only get worse for about 6 months I couldn’t stand to even be me. The smell never goes away years after it can get better but I think this distroyed my marriage I wouldn’t do it if I had it all over to do

Have you found a natural way to beat this? I’m only a week in and the odor is so gross. If I can find a natural way to beat the odor and maybe stopping all the other stuff from happening then I’m all for it!

I’m researching this topic, I too had procedure back in 2010 or so but just this past year foul order, no infections! I’m curious if you had partial hysterectomy and if there’s been a change? I’m going to see my gyn, I feel like it’s affecting my life and self conscious about it for sure!

I had the ablation in 2017. I have had a watery discharge since. I have to use panty liners daily throughout the day. My periods are still extremely heavy-actually, they are heavier than they were before the ablation. I have a lot of clotting now as well more than I did before the ablation. I too am hoping for a hysterectomy soon. This is very depressing!

P.S. my previous ob-gyn is in to holistic medicines. He prescribed boric acid capsules for yeast infections. This has helped. I only use every now and then. I do not have problems with yeast infections just the smell. You can insert them at night to ensure it “runs” back out. Yes! Boric acid I was shocked also. I got empty capsules from this health food store. Boric acid from Walmart or Walgreens. Fill the large part with the boric and then top it off with the smaller. Insert into vagina. Hope this helps. This sucks!!!

My ablation was almost 3 years ago. Just this last year I've found I smell all the time. I'll shower at night and come morning I'll smell. I'm 47 now and wondered if it was premenopausal? But this is also making more sense the more I research and hear more people are going through the same thing. I haven't had many BV but I'm not sexually active.

My Dr thinks it's all in my head. She told me stop using soap, when I have sex to sprits with vinegar and water, to soak in a tub of water w baking soda. Sometimes I pray my husband doesn't want sex because I am ashamed of the order. My OB said it was nothing told my not to do what my Dr said and to wear cotton underwear and change them three times a day. This has not helped. I only did this because I had blood clot and walferin was making me bleed to death vaginally. Instead of my Drs suggesting to take me off the meds test me to see if I was genetically pron to blood clots, they waited until after the procedure to tell me I didn't need to go back on blood thinners because it was only due to birth control. Now my husband and I can no longer start a family together and I am stuck with a smelly uterus. At least now I know I am not the only woman suffering with one, and I don't feel like I am crazy now that I found other women facing the same issue.

I too had an ablation in 2014 and for years I couldn’t understand why I had a foul odor all the time, I even noticed it only a couple of hours after taking a shower. I recently had a hysterectomy 3 weeks ago, and I already noticed that there is no longer an odor. It cured the smell issue.

Just wanted to know if anyone had any luck? I have tried everything and been on probiotics for 8 months. I've taken every antibiotic they make for it and no relief from the BV. Is hysterectomy the only answer. They should have to compensate each and every one of us for not only this seemingly life long odor curse, but also for the mental anguish that comes with it. I had the Novasure procedure performed in December 2017. I never in my life had BV before this procedure, however I have had it every since. I stopped taking antibiotics for 6 months because they don't cure it, only makes you immune to the antibiotics.

I had an ablation in 2017 as well and for the first few months, it was horrible smell. I even had a discharge following the procedure which lasted many months. Anyway, I think I found the cause of the odor. And I know it is going to sound crazy but I noticed that the odor got stronger when I had intercourse with my husband. So, I decided to do a process of elimination by having him change his diet (long story short, he is a gym rat that takes lots of supplements and protein shakes etc). Because he is very in tune with his body and I remembered he once told me that he was at the gym and his sweat was smelling funny, I decided to ask him if he would be willing to get off some of the supplements and protein for a while. Needless to say, he did and after many months, we figured out that he was taking in too much protein. Once he stopped doing the protein shakes, I haven’t had that smell ever again.
It gets better…
I believe that the ablation makes our vaginas a lot more sensitive to pH imbalances, therefore any change to his or my diet might trigger a response (or smell). It is sorta like when some people eat asparagus and then their urine smells like it. I am that person, and I thought everyone had same side effect with asparagus.. turns out, not everyone does. So, it is critical to learn what our bodies tell us. I am glad my husband was on board and willing to try all things I mentioned lol.
Good luck!

I am so glad I came across this
Had the ablation a week ago and the discharge is heavy .. I’m constantly changing my period undies as they are soaked in discharge
The cramps are so painful and the smell horrendous.
I had actually asked my gyno for a hysterectomy and he said try the ablation first and if it doesn’t work he will do the hysterectomy
Wish he had just straight out done the hysterectomy especially after reading these posts
I’m absolutely regretting agreeing to the procedure
