Like so many others, I had my procedure over 8 years ago. My doctor went aggressive with remedies and they work for a while but BV comes back. Nova sure throws our PH levels off and when you mix it with semen its a recipe for disaster. Treatment lasted for 6 month and now battling it again(BV). 14 days on Metronidazole, pills and gel, boric acid capsules and washed with it and 7 days on Doxycycline Hyclate. While aggressive it did work for over 6 months. Post-menopausal now and now it is back. Good luck.

During one of my many trips to the doctor or urgent care for BV after the ablation, I had an urgent care doctor suggest using a probiotic gel. I have been using Rephresh vaginal gel a couple times a week. It works, but you have to keep using it. When I stop, I am right back to where I started. Also, the gel gives you a weird discharge. So I am not sure what is worse, the smell or the weird discharge!!!! Good luck!

I had the uterine ablation back in 2012 and I didn't have a period anymore. I started to spot infrequently in 2015. Now I have spotting that resembles my cycle lasting 3-5 days followed by this bad odor and discharge every month. I never had this before so I am thinking this is a result of the Uterine ablation procedure.

I had no idea of these side affects of the novasure procedure, I have felt so "dirty" not knowing what was happening. I started googling my symptoms and possible treatments. I found that soaking in a tub with 2 cups of apple cider vinegar helps (though only have done it one time).

Oral vitamin C tablets containing 500mg vit c (absorbic acid), supermarket or chemist. Before you go to bed insert one tablet in the vagina push as high as you can reach, do it for 3 consecutive nights, I found this works it neutralizes the imbalance of alkaline/acidity in the vagina, the smell goes its amazing.. even if your prone to thrush it will help as it makes the flora in the vaginal canal balance.. the doctor prescribed oral medication that never fixed it in fact it gave me thrush after.. this works ! good luck :)

I had the same procedure and have been plagued by the s and symptoms since..yeast infections,bv, unpleasant odor. I've been prescribed antibiotics over and over again only to cause yeast infections. My doctor is making plenty of money but I'm miserable. I basically quit my job from embarrassment. After seeing these posts, I think I'm going to call a lawyer about a lawsuit.

I'm just curious abs to what the metro gel is and where do you purchase? I had an ablation 5 years ago and have all the same issues that you all are discussing.

I've used the rephresh gel as well and you're right about the discharge. Not only that, it is kinda expensive to last a short time.

SOLUTION- NYSTATIN!!!!
I had the ablation 5 years ago and have suffered from all of the symptoms you all have described. I went to urgent care last week for yet another bv script. There was a different doctor I discussed all of the issues that I had been having and he told me nystatin would treat all. I didn't believe it but 1 week later the odor and discharge are gone. I have a 1 month supply and will provide another update in a few weeks.

Hi, keep us informed, my guess is its killing the Bacterial vaginosis as it is an antibiotic..the problem is through my experience is then you get thrush esp on long courses of antibiotics.. my fear for you is it will return as it has for all of us..but good luck & please let us know your progress

I'm going through the same thing. I had the procedure done in November 2016 and I'm still leaking and had a foul smell. My Dr gave antibiotics it worked for about 2weeks then the foul smell came back. I m so frustrated and depressed, I won't let my husband touch me because of how I smell and my Dr just keep telling me to give it time. First he said three months now he said six month. I'm sorry I ever did this stupid procedure plus I'm still having heavy periods,it came two weeks after the surgery. I feel the same way, I don't trust any one, I. Going to seek advice from another Dr. I hope this can be resolve I can't live like this anymore.

I have just signed petition against novasure, there are so many of us out there , lets stand together, this awful procedure has to STOP !
