I had the uterine ablation and my tubes tied about 4 years ago, I always suffered from both yeast infections and vaginal infections. For the past year, I have on infection every month, it is one or the other, January 2018n I finally left my OBGYN of 24 years (the other that performed both procedures) and started to see this new doctor. I never realized that there maybe a connection of why I have so many infections, I would like to take legal matters, because my doctor knew I suffered from infections, and he convinced me to do the procedure. Any thoughts on this ?

To all the women here. I have been dealing with the same thing Since 2006/ or 07. I had the same issues horrific abdominal pain for months and months until they found that fluid ( blood)had collected and scar tissue had sealed my uterus shut!. The discharge was uncomfortable, embarrassing, and disgusting. Along with several other issues for years and years. I finally started taking probiotics (acidophilus) and it has worked amazingly! No more odor or discharge. I cannot promise it’s for everyone but it work for me.
If you read about NOVASURE AND ESSURE there are several lawsuits going on take the time and sign up to tell your story. I have heard and read countless stories on the failure of this procedure and the failure of the doctors and BAYER to warn women on the ACTUAL side affects.
Not sure about you but if they told me you are going to be in severe pain, with and unknown amount of smelly discharge for the rest of your life and by the way this procedure will likely not work and you will need a hysterectomy anyway. I would have passed.

I had that procedure and I was told by my GYN it won’t just go away. I use Replense 2-3 time a week and have no odor. It’s OTC. If I stop using it the odor comes back. I was told I’d have to have a hysterectomy to stop the odor from reoccurring, which is what I wanted her to do in the first place!

I’m glad I found this thread. I don’t know many women who have had this done. The ones who had the ablation done do not have bv or yeast infection issues like I do. Please let me know if having a hysterectomy put a stop to the vagjnal issues. My self esteem is so low now because of the constant odor. I can’t figure this out! Hope everyone here is better. I’m feeling hopeful.

I had the ablation done about 6 years ago, I haven't had any issues other than a foul smell every now and again.

This is happening to me now. It is so embarrassing. My doctor prescribed metro gel & replens but didn't explain that I would have this forever. My ablation was in April 2017. To have this foul smelling discharge for the past year is ridiculous. Thank you ladies for sharing so I have some idea of how to handle it. What happens once I hit menopause? Is that even a thing for me now?

I figured out on my own to try probiotics.
I take them everyday. Terrible odor went away in about 3 days. What a relief!

I had the nova sure 3 years ago due to heavy bleeding. I no longer have periods or cramps, but my hormones stay off balance. My body produces this terrible odor, 15 yrs with my husband who no longer wants to touch me or engage in sexual activities. He gets his enjoyment from pornos. I get baterial infections every 3 months. I am frustrated my stomach constantly swells to where it looks like I am going to give birth. The nova sure has ruined my self esteem, my marriage, and my sex life.

Exact same for me. It's been two years. I have never had BV in my whole life until after my ablation. Even after taking medication to resolve, it has come back again. I am not sexually active, so it was definitely caused from the ablation.
