I had a Novasure ablation done in September 2007. I am plagued with recurring BV infections. I have had the same response from my ob/gyn that it must be the soap I am using or something that is changing the PH. I never had this problem until I had the ablation. The odor is terrible. I have been looking for a site like this to get some answers.

I had an ablation 4 months ago. I have had 1 yeast infection since. I also have been experiencing a burning pain in the vagina area. The burning pain is like a really bad hot flash. When I sit down for a period of time, the burning and pain is unbareable. I went to my doctor and they prescribed yeast infection medicine. That cleared up the infection but nothing for the burning pain.
If anyone has experienced this symptom I could sure use some advice.

To the person who placed this post...I was wondering if the hysterectomy helped with the recurrent infections. I posted earlier in the year and have been considering a hysterectomy. I'm supposed to have

surgery next month and wondered whether the hysterectomy cured your problem?

I had the Novasure procedure done about 2 months ago. Everything was going pretty well until this week. I have had very light periods and minimal cramping. This week I have noticed the weight gain and now I think I have a yeast infection. There is the discharge and the terrible odor. I am glad I found this site as none of the others mention the infections. After reading the posts I hope this is not something that I am going to experience on a monthly basis. Please keep posting ladies as this information is very helpful. %-)

I had the ablation procedure in Feb 2010 and got my tubes clamped March 2010. One recovered from both procedures I have had no bleeding, no infections, and no odors. My partner states my vagina has a sour smell to it, but I don't notice any difference.

I'm glad I had the procedure done. Sorry that some of you regret getting it done. I just thought I'd chime in here for those considering the procedure and reading these posts. You know what they say, if a person was given good service, people don't hear about it, but if someone had a bad experience, everyone hears about it. Ppl just don't compliment enough.

I had an ablation in 2005. I have been struggling with yeast infections since abaout 2years ago now. I now have a burning in the urethra area or cervix area They thought I had STD, but nope, checked for all of them. then they gave me meds. It did work for the last year, but now it is not working. They gave me cream, and that did not help. I went on a Candida diet for 2 weeks, and most of it has left, but my lower partof the area stil kinda burns. hard to explain. I started thinking that it kind of felt like when I first got my Ablation, then I found this site. I have been in pain for 43 days now and really tired of it. I cannot believe this many people are having the same isses as me. I have been getting yeast infections so often. The only issue I see is that no one has a cure for this burning. It feels to me like literally burning, like I put something on the area inside that my skin is reacting. And mine also feels great in the morning, but as my day progresses it gets worse. When i sit it really gets irritated, just like the other person. I am just in awe right now. So does anyone have an answer to this problem is the question. We all know that it clearly must be the ablation. Grrr makes me mad, I agree I would of rather had the cramping pain once a month than this.

I had the E/A procedure done 4 months ago. Other than the foul vaginal lodor, I have had no side effects. I haven't had a period, nor have I had any type of infections. I have asked my doctor about the odor and he suggested that I try taking probiotics and I have taken them for thirty days now with no success. I know that the E/A changes up your ph balance in your body, however I sure would like to know has anyone out there been succesful in eliminating the odor. It's embarsassing to me.

I can sympathize with all of you with the odor issue...I had my E/A almost one year ago and have been plagued with it since....although the not having a menstrual cycle is a plus, if I knew that this odor was going to be like this I would not have had it done...and although many have posted the same problems on many sites...I have seen no suggestions on how to handle the odor. I have been treated numerous times for Bacterial Vaginosis and no relief....went to a new doctor last week who ran cultures galore on me...things I as a nurse have never even heard of....she also suggested a suppository to help the pH however everything including the pH is FINE and she also said something about my soaps but I have been using the same soaps for years..I can't stand this anymore....anyone have any thoughts?

What sort of odor are you girls experiencing.  I too had an ablation a couple of years ago, and it seems to be a fishy odor!  Doc treated me for vaginosis but it just comes back.  I too am wondering what to do as my partner has said the same thing, 'what's that smell?".  I could be home all day doing nothing and still smell...originally I thought it could be hormonal and sweat, but now after seeing things online, I also believe it is from the ablation. UGH!!!

I had uterina ablation/Nova Sure done May 2011.  Since my surgery I've dealt with horrible bacterial vaginosis infections.  I feel like my life is ruined and this is now a burden on my marriage.  Does anyone know if the hysterectomy has helped anyone?

I had the Novasure procedure done in April 2007. I was experiencing the same problem with odor and infections. Last week I had to have a partial hysterectomy because of an infection in my Fallopian tubes caused by the Novasure procedure. I have seen numerous doctors over the last few years and finally found the right doctor who looked further into my problem.

Same problem here...I had the procedure done August 17, 2011. I am freakin miserable with this ungodly smell. I had a yeast infection pill called diflucan something and I took it 2 or 3 days ago and no relief. My discharge is yellow and it smells. I am constantly changing panty liners and using charmin wipes to keep everything clean but nothing seems to help. I don't have any bleeding or anything but I wont see my doctor for a couple of weeks. 2 days after surgery I felt my uterus was falling out and got an exam by a nurse at the base hospital but it was fine, I was just doing too much. I cannot believe this has not been addressed on the NovaSure website. I think we all need to go to the website and complain!!
