I have had the same problem and I am considering a hysterectomy

It is definitely connected. I have experienced the same thing and I had NEVER had an infection prior to ablation.

I have the exact same story. Are you still experiencing chronic BV a year later?

Spoke to a specialist who said that if a woman has adenomyosis this watery, smelly discharge can happen. Adenomyosis is often the cause of the original heavy bleeding and often not picked up since it's hard to detect, sometimes by tertiary level ultrasound it can though. She said this is often the reason for the pressure, pain and period smelling clear discharge since there is now no release of the uterine congestion through periods due to the ablation, instead it's leaking built up glandular fluid (I think?).

I know a woman who had no issues after her ablation but I have and my scans have shown adenomyosis, very disappointed. So basically doctors perform albations to 'treat' adenomyosis symptoms but the intrauterine bleeding and glandular response continues within the uterine muscle as it did previously but with no relief through bleeding via the endometrium.

She said sometimes an ablation just makes the condition worse. She also said we can't change the past so must focus on future treatments etc. Going to try a laser treatment in the US, I think there are ultrasound treatments too, otherwise hysterectomy if all gets too bad. So sad, I miss my period.

Anyway, this might explain some women's smelly discharge. Keep strong ladies.

After a year I also started having yeast infections as well. No bleeding at all though. I don't like the infections, but I needed to do the ablation because I would bleed so heavy.

I can't tell you how glad I am to read this thread. I thought I was alone and was even embarrassed to type ablation and odor.I had my ablation over 3 years ago. I haven't experienced the yeast infections but have had an odor problem that I never had prior to the surgery. Nothing helps for more than a day. I have tried using douches natural remedy and medicated over the counter, apple cider vinegar, different soaps and the odor always comes back. I shower twice a day also. I went to the doctors yesterday and he ran some tests. Said if anything comes back he will put on Flagyl. Also said I had large fibroid tumors but didn't think they had anything to so with the odor.

I having the same problem odor with abdominal pain and even longer periods. This is frustrating. The GYN doctors are clueless.

I had an endometrial ablation on June of 2012 and I did have discharge for about 3 months with a slight odor, afterwards I haven't had any issues with odor nor do I have any periods, but I think it's because I take vinegar baths every single night and shower every single morning and I never change my soap, I use Dove. My gynecologist is excellent. The surgery was a success and I had no bleeding afterwards.

I had ablation two years ago, about 6 months later I began having intense itchimg, dr kept saying yeast was negative, use fragrance free soap, wash underwear in fragrance free soap, go with underwearat night, etc, nothing helped, then prescribed progesterone cream thinking my skin had thinned down there due to possibly approaching menopause (I'm 48 now) didn't make much difference. Have also have odor problems, painful sex just in the outside area. Finally found a site thatsuggested that skin is just so irritated from abnormal cells sloughing off in uterus and using Vaseline as a protectant can help alit. It absolutely cured the irritation, after almost a year of fighting it. I don't use it all the time but before and after arc I do, sometimes it flares up and I use the Vaseline. Still having odor, and now severe labor type cramping during period, probably due to having tubal years before, which now has been studied and shows an increase of pain after ablation, going to get hysterectomy to solve this. Sounds very simple but try thick layer of Vaseline, about twice or three times a day, just like a diaper rash in a baby, the skin needs protectant!

Hey people, i had a hysterectomy 6 months ago best thing i did so glad its all over, i di have occurring BV prob since the ablation.tried Flagyl & the other meds still had it . Do you know what cured it ? apple cider vinegar ! some douche in it (as i saw on u tube) but better than that dip a cotton (not synthetic) tampon in Braggs ACV & insert it for about 4hrs a day for about 3 times a week or when necessary it works & will kill BV & yeast infections ! BTW doctors & the med profession r lying to us ablation r the worst thing u can do . I was scared to get a hysterectomy but so glad i did & couldnt have it vaginaly cause the ablation made my uterus so big, i was cut but recovered fairly well i am 52. Good luck girls !

I was like you, i put up with it for a year then had a hysterectomy, praise the lord , no more bleeding, discharge & odour i had BV the whole time after my novasure ablation & once i was clear of my hyst op i dipped cotton tampons in a 50/50 mix of ACV (Braggs) which is American & i'm in Australia left it internal for about 4hrs a day every other day ..amazing after taking Flagyl & other meds which did not clear BV & then give you thrush the ACV works, drink it diluted daily to to get your body Ph alkaline..no disease lives in an alkaline body..good luck !
