Vaginal odor years after endometrial ablation

I am so glad I found this site. Had Novasure done 11/2011. Although I had a few bacterial infections in my earlier years, I was never diagnosed with a yeast infection.  I am 46 yrs old and since my procedure I have had constant yeast and BV. After the first few rounds, I got suspicious and asked my NP. if there was any correlation." Possibly" was the answer. Now I am on flagyl and diflucan again.  Was given clindamycin this past July and found myself getting tested for CDIF because of the horrible side effects, I'll spare everyone the details. I am now taking probiotics with the medication. I'll post the outcome.

I had the procedure done 6 years ago and also suffer with very bad odor that all the Vagisil in the world won't wipe out! Also, having sex feels like some one inserted a hot poker inside me, no fun. I'm actually considering having a hysterectomy just to not be plagued with this embarrassing odor! Good luck!

I also had the ablation done and am having Vaginal odor and yeast infections but my gyno thinks I crazy. She gave me Motrin. If anyone finds a cure for this or finally get their doctor to listen please post results.

I had it done a month ago not happy with discharge, odor, and cramps. Wondering if I did the right??

 

I had the Novasure done in January 2014. While have not experienced any bleeding or pain since the procedure. It has been about 6 months now and the last 2 months I have been plagued with yeast infections. I no sooner get rid of it and it's back. Does anyone have any sugestions?

I had the nova sure ablation on June 9, .2014 because of non stop bleeding for three months straight.  It stopped the bleeding, thank God!, but now the recurring itching and yeasty smell is almost too much to bear!  I too wish that would have been listed as a side effect.  I try to hide as much as possible and there is a tube of feminine itch cream forever in my bathroom.  I wonder if the feminine wash and eating a lot of yogurt would help correcting the problem.  Any ideas?

I had the Nova sure 5 years ago and I have had chronic BV since then. My husband and I feel it is due to the procedure also. I also have to have a hysterectomy because of post ablation syndrome. ( severe pain from pockets of blood in uterus that can't get out) I would not recommend an ablation for anyone.

I had procedure in 2011. Serious bad odor & secretions ever since. Doctor still insists it's normal. I'm not happy with outcome at all!

I am 50 years old and these stories all tell my story. Until I found this site my doctor and the gyno were telling me it had nothing to do with Novasure, but that is a lie. I am looking into starting a law suit. If anyone knows of one already started let me know. This is not right, we should have been warned.

how did the lawsuit go?

i just started having the foul odor two days ago and today is two weeks from my procedur.  i called the doctor and they say you need to be seen right away, we will call you right back with a time.  I never heard back. Since it is Friday I am waiting for the appt I already had for Monday.  I am still having the drainage but with dark old blood mixed in now, with the odor. now I am praying that is does not become one of the stories I have read here.  I would much rather have had the periods.  I did it because my aunt had a similar thing done but with hot water and she had great results. Guess it is all a wait and see. Most options for fixing it will be difficult with an auto-immune disease Like MS.

Went to doctor and as I thought she said it was BV and gave me an RX for ten days.  Not so sure about this but I will take the med and pray it works and I don't end up having a chronic problem.  My MEDS to keep my immune system down may be an issue but it will still be a wait and see

I agree totally, had this opp 7 mths ago & i get the smell straight after a period which is lighter but i get pain now when i never used too. It stinks, i never feel clean the smell is worse than the stale blood, i haven't had sex in months i am 52 next month relatively fit & healthy & i don't want my husband of 31yrs to touch me" down there",,we r being lied too- the smell is like burnt skin/hair it's def from the abaltion, now i'm forced to have a hysterectomy which i didn't want, as i said to my obgyn i don;t want to trade one problem for another & my hormones say i'm years off menoause. I used to have a week of heavy bleeding then 3 weeks free & clean inbetween, now i have this. I feel like i want to shove a turkey baster up there full of bleach and high pressure my womb out ! What pisses me off is i read some posts like this before my opp & told my gyno of this & she said none of her patients had reported these syptoms..BS we r being lied to !

By the way your opp was in 2011 can you tell me what you have done since, did u find a solution ? would help greatly if you did & as a nurse i'm sure you would have used all your medically knowledge & contacts to do so...

Can i ask you was your hysterectomy successfull, my last period was painfull for 3 days & hardly any loss, i get something different every month. I am 52 & this is my next choice..i can't stand it or the different discharges & the smell ! ( i would take stale blood any day) help !
