Vaginal odor years after endometrial ablation

Frustrated over a year ago

I had an ablation done in 2004. I have only had VERY brief spotting a couple times over the past 10 years so I'm happy as my periods were horrendous. I had my tubes tied 10 years before that. I never had a problem with recurring infection until a few years ago. Mostly it's after I have sex and then I have to treat with medication. The smell gets horrible if I don't. I gave up on sex most of the time so I don't have to deal with it but I still seem to have a slight infection every couple months regardless. I do not have problems with yeast infections unless I use the medication for the infection. I can see I'm not alone. Glad I found this site. My doctor thinks I don't know what I'm talking about and that I'm just promiscuous and catching infection from a guy.

It was a year Dec. 2014 since I had the procedure. I have had the same recurring discharge and humiliating order. I went to my family doctor today and he prescribed medication trichamonasis (sp?)!! Wth!!! He said let's try this first and then we will go from there. Well, thank goodness my husband and I are happily married and neither of us believe my issues are from an STD. This is killing my self-confidence. My husband has been nothing but understanding. But how much can I take! I am so happy I found this site. I told my doctor about the site and ALL the other women with the same problem and he nodded me off. I'll pray for all of us. Something is not right!

I did the same vinegar baths. I also use baking soda (separate baths I alternate) also eat yogurt when I get my period and take a probiotic. This seems to have helped and gavee my confidence back.

Yep. Mostly a problem one day after sex and have to treat like an infection with medication every time then followed up by a yeast infection because of that. It's gotten to the point I don't even bother with sex anymore.

STILL HOPEFUL over a year ago

I had the Hydro Thermal Ablation-HTA IN 2006. Initially it didn't work so 3 months later I had a DNC. This made my cycle lighter a few months later. As time went on my cycle started skipping to every 2 months then 3 months and eventually stopped maybe 5-6 years later. The side effect that began in 2007 is the fishy vaginal odor that is still ongoing. It's extremely embarrassing. I bath twice a day, take probiotics, vitamins, you name it, I've tried it. Does anyone else have this side affect? I've always smelled fresh until after the ablation and the DNC.

It seems like I am not crazy. Had my ablation in 2009 since then many yeast infections. I have been looking for a Dr. Who will believe me and treat preventativley with Diflucan, so far no luck. I have done the over the counter and it itches so bad I want to rip out my vagina. I have started taking Floragen 3 daily and it has significantly cut down on yeast infections, but I still get infections. we need to keep talking to our providers and let them know about this.

i just had the ablation done march 10th 2015 if i had known it was going to leave a bad smelly odor i would not have gotten the surgery i douche with vinger and and water and the smell leaves for a couple of hour but when i go to the bathroom to urine the smell comes right back what can we take for the smell to go away

I had this done in 2003 and I hate to tell you girls, but I still get that awful discharge and odor. No response from my OBGYN as well.

I have been taking an over the counter yeast med by AZO . A friend told me about using hydrogen peroxide on a tampon or in a douche bottle ....solved my issue . Google peroxide douche ...it works ! Also eating yogurt and pineapple.

Same symptoms (yeast & odor) after ablation. My doctor tried to tell me it was my age-I'm 46 & never had the problem before. Here's what I found helped me: Cinnamon (tincture or pill), olive leaf extract (tincture), dandelion (tincture), garlic (pill), Pau D'arco Tea, peppermint Tea. I was taking the cinnamon, olive leaf, dandelion & garlic once a day. Last time I went to Whole Foods to stock up on supplies I found Solaray brand has a yeast-cleanse which has pau d'arco, grapefruit, tea tree oil & garlic in it. It has been 3 months since I started this regime & have not had a yeast infection (fingers crossed). I do still have odor when I exercise or close to the time when it should be my period. Hopes this helps others. I was severely depressed & frustrated w/ the symptoms & my doctor.

I had the novasure done in April 2014 I was doing good and then in July 2014 I started having anxiety attack and high blood pressure, red all over , bad headaches, and weight gain and bad b.o. down their and the doctor said there is nothing they can do for me . And know I think I should never got this done I should just live with the heavy bleeding.
