Wooow thank you for this post. I have had the same experience since I started yaz last month. The first month I was constantly sick, had shortness of breath nosea and my nose and throat were constantly ichy and i thought it was due to change of seasons so when it stopped I thought all was well and I continued to my next pack. Yesterday after taking the poll I felt a shap pain in my stomach, felt soo weak and nothing could go throough (food), but I still went to work thinking agh it's probably a stomach bug or something. While at work that's when I started feeling it for real. I become weaker, my whole body ached, I felt shap pin like pains on my spine, arms and legs and I could not walk. I had I very high temperature and a slite headache. I was shivering while having hot flashes at the same time. I had to call my husband to come pick me up as i couldn't even drive and as we got home he happened to mention that maybe it's yaz cause I notice that since you started it a week doest and without you getting sick, I think you should stop taking it. So today as i lay sick still in bed I decided to google if these symptoms are in any way related to yaz and I saw these posts which confirms everything. I am officially getting off yaz and I don't think I will ever trust any birth control pills ever again.

I have been on the YAZ birthcontrol pill for going on 3 months now, I was driving one morning on my way to a friend's house and out of nowhere I get this pinching pain in my left shoulder and arm, it went away, then came back and did that 3 times, the pain had quit but then as I was driving i had noticed my left hand was going numb, i would rub my finfers together a s couldn't feel it, this isn't the first symptoms I've had, other were little things like my feet and legs going to sleep for no reason, I just kept putting it off thinking this is just all in my head,
After reading everyone's reply about yaz, I'm not taking it anymore as of today! Thanks everyone's comments were very helpful!

my daughter has been taking YAZ for seven months. She recently fainted at university and had to take a medical withdraw because she has felt faint, weak, brain fog and exhaustion ever since she fainted. She also had an HPV Guardisil 9 vaccine four days before fainting. She has been diagnosed with sudden onset POTs. Her blood pressure drops dramatically upon standing and her heart beats very fast.
She stopped the YAZ a week and a half ago and for the first day in a month has woken up and felt OK. I think the YAZ was causing her blood pressure to drop. I also noticed that her skin had a yellow, jaundice which has gone away since stopping YAZ.
I would try stopping the YAZ and she if in a couple of weeks your daughter starts feeling better.
Have the doctors do some orthostatic tests on her to see if her blood pressure drops when she stands. HIgh potassium can cause low blood pressure.
I hope your daughter gets better soon!
