I have had these symptoms for over a year with no answer as well.. Have you found anything out?
I too have the same problems but just found this post! Does Prosta-Q really work? How long do you have to be on it before it goes away for good? Please get back to me as I've been dealing with this for over a year :(
What antibiotics were you given? I've had this problem for a year and nothing has worked so far.
You all need to go back to your Doctors once everything else has been ruled out and ask if its possible you have a yeast infection in the urethra. It will not come up as an STI and it can occur for a variety of reasons - too many antibiotics screw up the balance in your system, unprotected oral or vaginal sex with a person of differing genders who has a yeast infection, too much sugar, not having a dry groin before dressing, being a bigger guy weight wise can also lend itself to having them and diabetics of different genders also - it can and will cause an itchy, pin-prick sort of feeling if its in the urethra and an anti-fungal oral medication prescribed by your physician should help if that is what it is. Usually you get the same three day dose a woman does - though your Doctor may choose to prescribe it for up to 7 or 14 days with blood work to monitor your liver function.
Everything has been ruled out for me and I've asked one doctor before if it was a yeast infection and he said no but I'm not sure if he really knew or not.. Do you know of any antibiotics that are proven to work under these circumstances?
I have had this for over a year with no relief.. What did the doctor give you to make this problem go away for good?? Please get back to me, I have these same symptoms
did you find the solution? and what it was?
My symptoms are cold genitals, irritated penis tip, testicle pain, white cloudy discharge and pricking pains in the head of the penis. No I do not smoke and never have, why?
What symptoms do you have and where?
I'm 22 years old and I had the same symptoms after I received unprotected oral sex from a girl (and did protected vaginal sex). I felt an itchiness and soreness in the head of my penis the morning after our encounter. I also had frequent urges to urinate, but I wouldn't pee a lot even though it felt like my bladder was full.
A week later I got tested for Gonorrea, Chlamydia, NGUs, and Syphillis...all came out negative. My doctor checked my urine (not sure if it was specific for UTI testing) and said nothing was wrong with my urine! Here's the important part...my doc did a urethral swab (a painful experience) and was then able to confirm that I had an infection just from looking at it.
I was prescribed Doxycycline 100mg 2x a day for 10 days and nystatin and triamcinolone cream to the head of my penis 2x a day (I guess to counter any candida and/or for its anti inflammatory effects). The itchiness and soreness definitely got better as I took the doxycycline. But I was still going to the bathroom to pee more than usual while I was taking my meds.
It's been a week since I finished my meds and I feel much better. No itchiness at all, no soreness, no weird feeling inside my penis at all. Past few days I've been going to the bathroom to pee only 3x a day on average. I think (and hope) that I am in the clear and I hope that my symptoms don't magically reappear. If it does, I may need to get my prostate checked.
My advice is to ask your doc for a urethral swab as soon as possible, and maybe ask for a culture if no infection is apparent. Doxycycline worked for me, and if you're prescribed it, hopefully it will work for you too. This isn't medical advice, so talk with your doc to see if they think you should get on doxy or any other similar antibiotics. Drink plenty and plenty of water. Cut down on the anxiety, it will help. And if you believe in God, pray pray a lot.
