I got on the Buprenorphine to get off oxycodone and heroin...mainly i was shooting OC's, 4 or 5 80's a day. When I couldn't get the OC I would dabble with H. I was already an OC addict, I at least knew I didn't want to get on H bad.
Once someone is stabilized on Buprenorphine (subutex) (suboxone adds .5 mg/2mg Naloxone respectively to their formulation). The person can take any opiate they want. Generally what I have found to happen is depending on how much Bupe I have in my system i may or may not feel the 80's I snort now occasionly. And all this c**p about you can't take one before the other is BS, as long as you are stabilized ( 1 week or more ) on the Buprenorphine, you can snort an 80 while having the suboxone digustingly disolving under your tongue, which by the way is sick and takes to long.
its 5:52 in Toledo, Ohio. My back is killing me. I started the day with a single 8mg suboxone, took another after lunch, and just took a third. I am leaving in ten minutes to go get a couple 40's and will then snort them immediatly. I will not feel sick and I will not go into instant withdrawl. I may just not feel the them as much as I used too, but they still take away the pain.
and for anyone who wants to try it...take 4 of the 8mg suboxone all within an hour...you will feel great. any more than 32 mg in your system at any time is a waste..Buprenorphine has a ceiling effect which means it maxes out at a certain amount. Also you people should know this as well. Suboxone has a half life of 30 or more hours. Which means after 30 hours, the drug has just now reached under 50% of worth. I personally don't think they last this long, but Im not a doctor... any other questions ill check back here later
I am a small frame, 135lbs, I was on Fentanyl 75's every 24 hrs, Vicoden ES 6-7 tabs day, zanax, Oxycontin, Percocet, Anti-depressants, and sleeping pills. When I called a center to detox they said I had to be off everything for 10 hours at the very least.
Suboxone saved my life, I couldn't have gotten off all the above mentioned with out it. If you want to comfortably get off opiates this is your answer! It was a piece of cake, within 4 hrs of taking it after not being on it for 2 days was like heaven.
I wasn't taking these drugs to get high after a back operation but I was still taking them long after I needed them. My concern now is if I get into a car accident or something awful happens where I need to be sedated and medicated how will that be obstructed by the suboxone? I heard it can interfere ALOT and that scares me. My doctor said if I was going to have a 3rd surgery I'd have to wean off of it in order to be anesthetized.
With that being said, how long does it take to get off Suboxone? I'm scared to death to stop, but I want to, I was in horrible pain when I started detoxing at home but once I got to the center I was in insurmountable pain and anxiety was off the chart. SOMEONE TELL ME THE TRUTH!! How am I going to feel (I know everyone's different) but how is someone who's had a low tolerance for drugs feel when they stopped?
I have to say one thing, I know life can suck pretty bad, what I don't understand is playing pharmacist when you know your body might retaliate and these mulit-users end up dead?
You've only got one life, you don't hit the rewind button when you F-up and kill yourself just for the sake of getting high. Find the help you need to live a cleaner, safer life.........YOU DESERVE IT! I'm scared to death of dying and I wouldn't mix 1/2 of these drugs together and expect to wake up in the morning or be alive 6hrs later. Think about what your doing to your body???? Someone loves you and can't live without you, don't be selfish, find another way to live happily.........God Bless!!

I have to respond to this because I took suboxone too soon after taking oxy (I wasn't in full withdrawl) and IT PUT ME INTO THE MOST INTENSE QUICKEST WITHDRAWL I HAVE EVER BEEN IN. I'm sorry, but I will have to disagree with you on that one. I will agree; however, on the part about taking oxy after suboxone and it not doing anything. Depending on your oxy tolerance you won't feel it as much as if you just take straight oxy.
I have been an addict for 5 years, have withdrawn off methadone, vicodin and oxy. I am on suboxone now and am doing GREAT! No slip ups, nothing. However you have to WANT to quit the oxy's or it's senseless being on the suboxone program. If you want to get high, then you may as well stay on the oxy's. Why would anyone do suboxone with oxy's on a regular basis (other than have them on hand for when they don't have any oxy's and go into withdrawl)? That's the only thing they are good for. They take the withdrawl away; BUT YOU HAVE TO BE IN FULL WITHDRAWL FIRST OR THEY WILL PUT YOU IN INSTANT WITHDRAWL. It only lasts for about 30 minutes, but I'll tell you, it is worse than the initial onset of straight opiate withdrawl. I am speaking from experience. I guess it may depend on the person though and how much they had been taking of each.
I was just like you with the viks and was then introduced to soboxon and love it. I took them for 3 days than stopped. If i get the erge for the viks i just take a bit of sob. and im fine it was great for me.The post on 8/19/08 titled "order of precedence" was extremely helpful to me and convinced me that I should give Suboxone a shot. I've been taking Hydrocodone and Oxycontins regularly for 6 years now and it's become way too much of a financial burden. I only started seriously taking OC about a month or two ago, but now I'm burning through an 80mg pill daily. Before that, I was taking 10+ 10mg Vicodins every day. I don't have health insurance or enough money for doctor visits, so I'm doing it on my own and relying on information from the internet....it's tough going because there's so much bogus info out there, but I can spot that stuff a mile away.
A question for anybody who has been on Suboxone - how long does it take to quit and do you have any withdrawal from the Suboxone itself? My will is pretty strong, I kicked a decade of alcoholism and I can physically stop myself from taking opiates no problem...but any time I do try I get sick to the point where I can't go to work and the only recourse is falling asleep. I can't afford to lose my job. In the past, when I've stopped taking opiates, it usually takes me a full week to start feeling normal again - after 3-4 days of absolute hell.

I have been in ur postion. doing it as we talk. I take an 8 mg of sub every morning. it gets me threw the day. I stay busy and try not to thilnk about it. My biggest problem is the straw. I want to snort. I want that feeling up my nose, if they would make a pill that taste like oxy and had the drainage of oxy I think I could beat this sh*t hands down. So bk to the ? I do sub threw the day and snort like 20-40 mg at night, and it seems to work for me right now. It has saved me alot of money here latly cause I was doing like two big just threw the day. So good luck with it, there is alot of people out there just like us.!!!!!
I wanted to snort an oxy tonight around 11-12am. I typically take 40mg of oxy to get "high", if I took the whole 80, do you think I would feel it?
