I am a little older, 52, male always healthy all my life. No surgeries, no blood pressure problems, blood sugar, cholesterol, etc. about two years ago I began to have weird symptoms including lightheadedness and finally extreme alcohol sensitivity. i could drink a couple mixed drinks and have a two or three day hang over. The only thing my doctor could find was microscopic blood in my urine and I had bladder pain, No infection. The sensitivity to food and alcohol was not consistent; sometimes I indulged and was fine other times disaster, sick for days.
I found out that my problem was leaky gut syndrome with Candida overgrowth. After two years of research I can say that I think I have it under control.
Here’s what I know; diet and lifestyle, lots of diet coke, stress, caused my intestinal lining to fail. Apparently the lining of our intestine is only a thin mucous with some beneficial bacteria living in it. If that lining gets a hole in it the bacteria that helps digest food cannot exist in that area but yeast (Candida) can. the mucous lining with the bacteria is the only separation between partially digested food and your open blood stream. When you get an opening in the lining the food you eat and the yeast come in contact with your bowel wall and your blood stream so you get wine or sugar or what ever you ate leaking undigested into your blood. This makes you real sick and can cause all kinds of weird symptoms but the most common is lightheadedness from food you eat.
After a year or so on the Candida diet and loosing 29 of my 160 pounds, I demanded that my doctor give me an antifungal. I then began using a product called IntestiNew that helps rebuild the lining, and a very good ProBiotic, (found in most health food stores). With in a month I could drink like an Irish sailor and not hardly feel it the next day. (not recommended the symptoms came back after a few such evenings and I had to start over).
The antifungal was to kill the yeast that was living in the damaged areas of the intestinal lining. It is very difficult to rebuild the lining with yeast overgrowth in the way. It took 90 days of Lamisil. Once the yeast began to die off the lining started to repair and things got better.
I found that two things set me back, alcohol and artificial sweeteners except for stevia.
I don’t know if all this is scientifically accurate it is just what I found out. Unfortunately M.D.s do not pay much attention to this and Naturopaths won’t or can’t prescribe the antifungals. So if you have this you have to do some research but this may be a direction to pursue.

Im a 27 year old female and started feeling lightheaded 2 weeks ago. It was worse in the beginning, all I wanted to do was sleep. Good thing I work from home. I also got random muscle twitching at random parts of my body, as well as tingling which started a month ago on my top left scalp. It felt more like goosebumps, but its gone now. I was in the hospital and they did a brain and cervical spinal MRI to rule out MS and ALS and other diseases, and all came back negative. i got full blood work done - all normal.. normal cholesterol levels, not diabetic, normal thyroid, nothing on blood culture, blood pressure normal 110/70 or 120/80 all the time. I play lots of sports and am overweight but active. i recently lost 15 lbs in the past 2 months but its by working out and eating less. not sure what the hell is wrong with me, i've been stressed before, and my body never reacted this way. i feel like there is pain behind my eyes as if I have a sinus, and my head feels a bit clogged, but i dont have a runny nose (though its a bit clogged). how do i get rid of this light headedness? i just want to sleep all day!

I too have been to my GP had all the tests run and they have all come back normal. after 6 years im starting to lose faith that i will ever be the same again. living like this is hard. If something dose not change soon i dont no what might happen. taking naps all the time has cut into my life, really taking half of my life away. im going to try and hang in there, but i must say it is comforting knowing im not alone.

I am 44 and am now having my second bout with constant lightheadedness and dizziness. I find that when I do any kind of work such as sweeping and mopping the floor or anything that requires energy makes it really bad. I went to every kind of doctor the first time and they blamed in on an ear infection, this time I went to a new ENT and have no ear problems, tried taking prednisone of course it didn't work, he then sent me to a physical therapist who then diagnosed me as having a vestibul orbital reflex problem, which means the reflex from my ears to my eyes and that reflex that tells your brain it is ok to turn this way is out of whack, and have been doing physical therapy for two weeks no improvement yet, but have a lot of confidence in my therapist, you might want to also give it a try.

%-) I have been getting this lightheadedness periodically over the last 5 years. I've gone for periods of 10 months good, then its back, and I can't drive the car as it makes me feel not in control. I have had panic attacks at the traffic lights on occasions, and it has frightened me so much I catch buses now. Very depressing to be reliant on buses and walking! And doctor cannot give me an answer. Blood pressure ok. Have been low in Iron on occasions. But on 2 other occasions Iron has been fine. I'm confused!! Of course you get nervous as it is not right to be driving like this, and I don't now, after the last panicky feeling stuck in traffic at the lights. It felt surreal...........weird!! Wish I could get to the bottom of this.

Hello Everyone!

I was having the same problem: constant lightheadedness, loosing focus at work, tiredness, faintness + feeling that 'the world is a dream'.

Got a few tests & checkups done that came out fine (blood, eyes, ECG, etc.). Then I consulted an ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) specialist. He said it was a middle ear problem - basically the balance of air pressure inside the body and outside atmosphere is not maintained because of malfunction of middle ear.

The doc prescribed a 5-day medication that worked immediately in suppressing the symptoms quite a bit (not 100% though). I defn felt much better and could at least concentrate on work with the medication.

It is just the 5th day of the medication today, I it is still too early to say that I have found any kind of permanent solution. But I think that I have definately got the right diagnosis about the cause of the problem and that there is certainly medication out there which would suppress the symptoms significantly. I hope I will be able to find a permanent cure.

I just felt that a lot of people on this forum are experiencing the exact same symptoms as me and I hope that this might be helpful to some of you. Please consult a good ear specialist for this.... even though I know it feels like it possibly doesn't have anything to do with the ear. I will keep you guys posted as & when I find anything more.

Hi there! I have been lightheaded for about a month and a half. I had my blood pressure checked and it's fine. My doctor did a CBC a month ago and the only thing found was that my Hemoglobin is a little low. My iron level has been a constant battle for me as it's always been low. This time my blood work showed that my iron level was good. I was also diagnosed with TMJ since I was having jaw pain and headaches. I also had to have a wisdom two removed and 2 cavities filled. However I have been having anxiety over the lightheaded feeling. Do you think there's anything to worry about? I have to go back to my doctor this month for a follow-up and blood work to check my iron level. Should I ask him for any other tests to be done? Perhaps a CT scan or MRI or other blood tests. I am extremely anxious about this. When the doctor told me he believes it's TMJ I went to the extreme and think it's a brain tumor. Now I'm thinking that somethings wrong with my blood since I'm so lightheaded. Can anyone advise me?

Do you guys have a lot of "silver" fillings? They are not silver at all, but MERCURY! Have them removed/replaced with regular fillings and see if you don't feel better. It can change your life! Whoever thought it was a great idea to implant the world's most toxic heavy metal into your mouth, just inches from your brain.....how ridiculous. These things leech mercury and can cause LOTS of symptoms and problems.

I am so glad to know Im not the only one who was going thru this. Im a 28 year old female and have had these symptoms for a few months now. I went and saw my doctor and he ran a bunch of bloodwork etc. Everything came back normal. I did start on acid reflux medicine which has helped. I was diagnosed with anxiety a few years ago but the lightheadedness from the anxiety is different than what I have been experiencing. I have done some research and decided to cut out caffeine and aspartame and WOW what a difference that made. I read aspartame can have that effect on people and I think that was my problem. So if you have not already tried cutting out aspartame, I highly recommend it!! Its been about 3 weeks since I cut out caffeine and aspartame and have been on acid reflux meds for almost 4 weeks and I have not been lightheaded since I started!

For months now I've been going threw the same thing. I don't smoke, and I don't drink. I keep going to the doctor and nothing seems to be wrong. I feel like a hyprocondriact. If I could come up with something to suggest to my doctor. I'm tired of feeling sick all the time. :-(

I am a 20 year old male I got a sinus infection about 5 months ago. Since then, I have had some of the same symptoms(irregular heart beat, constant daily light-headedness, feelings of panic). I've gone to a few doctors including a neurologist and ear-nose-and-throat doctor and they can't come up with anything. The only thing some of them have guessed is anxiety possibly onset by the overwhelming feeling of a chronic sinus infection. Can someone who has possibly been diagnosed with some kind of anxiety tell me if this what they experience as well? Maybe then I can get closer to some kind of solution to this problem which has put a damper on my social and work life. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For all those who are still light headed with no possible signs of any conditions this may help.
I too have had the light headed problem.
what may be the problem is simply your neck may be to tight and the scalene muscles in the neck may be pinching on your carotid artery not allowing fuull bloodflow/oxygen supply through.
I am a massage therapist with a 2 year college degree. I have seen this before and helped people with these symptoms.

this may not be what you need but it has helped me.
Start doing neck stretches and see a massage therapist. (one that knows what their doing not someone with a couple of weeks course who just rub people, but one who does only treatment). It's hard to work on your own neck and even harder to find a competent massage therapist. Easiest way is to ask if they can treat your "Longus Colli" (a muscle behind the throat).
If they don't know how then u got someone with not enough training.

It took me awhile to find one but finally I did and my problem stayed away for about 2 years. Now Ihave scheduled another appointment and I'm hoping the same results.
Please, understand that this may not be a solution for you but it worked for me and others I have worked on.
hope this helps, and good luck
