I had the exact same thing and it started to freak me out but when I looked up genital herpes and the like..nothing looked like what I had, which sounds like what you're describing. I had it for a few months and just a few days ago I took another good look at it and decided it looked like a white head so I tried to pop it. And it worked! Acted just like a white head and everything and now all is well....So if I had to bet money, I'd say it's definately just a white head that ended up in an....interesting area.
I have returning itchy area near vagina. Doctor said not to worry, continue applying hot wet compress to area. Go to the Doctor, Ladies. Knowledge is better than Fear and Denial.

Hi, I got one of these recently and having read all your comments am greatly relieved that it does not seem to be serious - I know how it started in my case - I used tampons for the first time in years and noticed a lot of friction at the time, at one point one was rubbing off that area not quite full in, [ouch!], so I put it down to friction and annoying the area in my case
The Bartholin cyst is further inside than these "whitehead" bumps which are on the outer labia majora. It's a different problem altogether.
The whitehead bumps are sebaceous cysts, which contain a white, waxy substance.
not to seem all negative or anything but the bump could be something serious so they shouldn't shrug it off as a pimple until they have a talk with their doctor to be sure it is a pimple and if not how to safely get rid of it

I too have what appears to be small white heads, they dont hurt or anything but it has me worried.
