Been using Yaz for 1 week, I've already had many of the negative effects: Anxiety, Moody, Stomach ache, Spotting, and dizziness.

I'll give it the rest of the month, but if this is what it will be like, I will probably stop when the month is up.
I have been taking Yaz for six weeks and have had almost nonstop bleeding during that time. Yaz was supposed to stop heavy periods and PMDD, but I bleed more than ever since I started taking it. I am on my second and last sample packet and I just found out this pill isn't covered by my insurance, too. I couldn't afford to stay on it anyway.

I tried to stick it out for three months, but this bleeding is just ridiculous. The PMDD is not so bad, but I have traded that problem for that of heavy almost nonstop bleeding. I am going back to the OB/GYN office tomorrow to discuss this major problem. I need other BC; Yaz has not been the answer for me.
I started, and it made me constantly exhausted, with mood swings, headaches, screwed up sleeping patterns, and a decreased appetite. I'm only two months in! It's insane!

Tylenol doesn't help the headaches, and no matter what I eat, I can't get my energy level up, or my sleeping patterns straightened out...it's like having PMS all the time. I don't get it. Seriously. I'm taking it to HELP ease it. I'm a teenager, and my period was lasting 7 days long, and very heavy. Now it's 4 days long, and very heavy, but look what I get in return?
Sounds exaggerated, but I think everyone has different outcomes. To me, I've been taking it for 2 months. At the first month of taking it, I felt depressed, emotional, and got sticky p***y due to hormone change. Even my husband said my body had unpleasant odor caused by changing hormone. Now, Everything is back to normal. My physician told me that I have to take it for at least 3 months to see the positive side coz my body needs time to get adapted. :-P
Hello.. I tried yaz for about 7 days.. It stinks.. made me moody, lethargic, extremely emotional and very teary. I hate this pill. I tried it for a few days before this.. felt nauseous so i stopped, then came the mood swings. I tried it again.. this time for almost a week... same thing happened except on a far worse scale. I cried uncontrollably and was sad and now i am bleeding. THis is the worst pill ever.
I started Yaz two weeks ago. I want to get off it as fast as possible, I hope I don't have to finish out the last ten days (will talk to my gyno tomorrow). It's made me so emotional, I've been crying for no reason. I'm bipolar, but I've been on birth control for 4 years and this is the first pill that's ever made me emotional. I thought of switching to the ring but I hear nothing but horror stories about that too. It's tempting to stop using hormones entirely but just using condoms freaks me out.
Ive been on Yaz for about a month now and it really is not that horrible.. with every birth control your body has to get use too.. I mean ive had side effects like spotting and being emotional but it went away and also think about it its only been a month i know that the side effects will eventually reduce .. my doctor told me it happens with any type of birth control your adding hormones into your body what do you expect.. but anyway i would defiantly recommend Yaz , it has cleared up my skin has made me lose weight which is a good thing
After reading everyone's forums i'm a little nervous about starting yaz. My doctor prescribed it and said a lot of people really like it. I don't have a regular period and I have some moderate acne I'm hoping the bcp will help with. I'm expecting some adjustment time as in any new bcp or medication but any drastic immediate changes to me are cause for concern. I'll post again in a couple weeks. Take care
I was diagnosed with poly cystic ovarian syndrome, had no period for 8 months...My doctor did 6 blood tests on me to see if YAZ was right for me. Test test being the most important. SHe recommended it to me and ive been on it for 1 month. Only thing i can say is that it made me a little emotional but as for clearing my skin up it did, My sex drive is ridiculous and a little breast tenderness. SO far so good, best advice is make sure your doctor tests your blood for proper testosterone levels and potassium levels which can cause the cramping i saw mentioned in previous posts.
Cheers.
I've been taking yaz for about a month now ....this is the first time i take bc . I started it on the first sunday of my period like the dr told me to and so far i have been on my period ever since. 4 weeks with a period is by far thee most aggravating thing ever >;) . Just this week i started cramping again. A friend told me to lower my dosage. But im not sure.... WHAT SHOULD I DO AND WHY AND I STILL ON MY PERIOD????????
I have been on Yaz for about 7 months now. I have not had any of the severe side effects people are complaining about. If you read the info that comes with it you can start it 2 different ways. I started the sunday after my period i believe. Yes.. everyone is different and i think after reading some of these posts some people are experiencing new side effects! When there is *ANY* change in hormones, you need to give your body at least 3-4 months to adjust. The first month is always the worst. The only thing i recall that i do not like about yaz is running to the bathroom.. guess it is the water pill effect?

I do have migraine issues and i did have migraines on Yaz.. HOWEVER...i had to let my body adjust to the yaz before i could truly do anything about it. I see a chiropractor that also does homeopathy. He tested my progesterone this month at the time i've been having the migraines and i was progesterone deficient. I started taking my progon (from before yaz) and have bypassed the migraine altogether. It seems imperative that you get your hormone levels tested before trying this.

I know Yaz has truly helped my friend with severe pmdd. She actually lost 15lbs the first 2 months of being on Yaz. She has not needed any other anti-depressant etc.

I can say this.. my body prefers the bcp that has 7 days of inert pills. I usually wait until i see signs of my period starting before i start my next pack. Give it at least 3 months, keep the communication open with your doctor or nurse.
i took yaz for a month. It was incredibly horrible. i had intense headaches that felt like migraines. I was sick constantly, and my breast ached. I've had some trouble with birth control pills before but never like this. I stopped yaz after the first month for a month, then gave them a chance again. I took them for 2 weeks and had the exact same horrible symptoms. Yaz is the worst birth control i have ever taken. the side affects were not worth the shortened period.
I have been on Yaz for a month and a half. The first two weeks were horrible. My moods swings were horrible. After the two weeks, I felt better. The only thing is I am emotional, I have pimples, and cravings during the PMS time. I feel like I gained a few pounds. So, I am in indifferent about Yaz. I took ortho-trycyclin(sp.) for two years and I just had bad PMS symptoms. So, Yaz does work a little bit for me, but I am disappointed about my pimples and crying. I will at least give it a year. At least I am not pregnant :-D
I have been using Yaz for about seven months now and I have experienced a horrible change in myself. I have always been a fairly happy person and since I started taking Yaz, I cry a lot, I have also noticed that I'm very angry (I was never an angry person before), I have very negative thoughts, and I feel emotionally unstable. I am unhappy with Yaz.
Let me tell you this pill really freaked me out at first.... the first month my emotions were off the charts, but it's starting to settle down (we'll see after the third) since being on Yaz I have lost 7lbs almost effortlessly!!! So that is a huge plus.
