I'm in your exact position. I'm 18, I have never had my period before, I've never had sex, and I don't ever want kids. I went to the doctors about it when I was probably 14 or 15 and they just said that I was too overweight and if I lose some then I'll have my period. Well I've lost some weight and still haven't had anything lol. Another doctor just said that it's Amenorrhea which I'm ok with. but I wanna know exactly what's going on. Do I have a very small uterus like some of these other girls?

Hi. This is an old post but maybe you get it and feel better. Periods do not have an evolutionary advantage, except to remove the lining that your body often falsely prepares for pregnancy. If your body is falsely creating that and not properly disposing, this isn't o good; if your body isn't falsely producing that then really you are only preserving energy for when you and your mate are in fact ready. I have periods 1-4 times a year. I'm 36. I have no children so I guess no evidence of this working, nonetheless I believe it does. No dr says this to me, but I have read a lot on it. I hate drs. They make me feel bad, when they are the ones (along with most women) who are wasting energy readying their bodies for not each month. And that's my view :)

I'm 20 years old and I've never had a period. When I was around 15 years old, everyone was having their period. I felt sort of isolated so I eventually went to the doctor. The doctor told me that there was nothing wrong with me and that i'm a special late bloomer. I had high hopes that I would at least have one before 17, but nothing ever happened. I've taken blood tests for kallman syndrome because I as well have a very very little sense of smell and as well as ultrasounds and MRI. My ovaries i've been told are healthy (which shocked the doctors because my uterus was underdeveloped). Many of my family members tell me that i still have a body of a young child (such as no curves, big butt or no large breasts). I always blame me not having a period. I hated the last doctor that I had because the reason I would go to the specialist was to find a way to start my period (because I eventually want children), but this stupid man ignorantly told me "well do you know you don't need a period.. woman can go their whole life without one." That'/ the last thing I wanted to hear (and that's the last time i went to the stupid specialist). He put me on birth control but nothing happened. It amazes me that I am not the only one!! Makes me feel better in a sense. I'm reading all these stories and they're all so similar to eachother. I'm sad there is not enough awareness for this.. wish you all the luck gals

Your story sounds like my story 20 years ago. Had same treatment. Now at 44 still no period and no kids. I have had 2 rounds of IVF with no luck. I don't take ANY hormone therapy and I don't have a period, EVER unless I was on bc pills. You still have young eggs, so there's still hope for you.

Hi All, not sure how many of you still use this thread, but I have been looking for a thread like this for some time. I am in the same boat as the majority of you i am 34 and at the age of 15 have been under a consultant who looked at every all the CT scans different types of HRT tablets but still nothing i did have a very very small show when i was about 18 but that was it, used to have period pains but no actual periods. I was told i would have to take ellest duet 2mg for the rest of my life to help with development but since moving areas the newer GP has said these are not for periods but for osteoporosis so now i dont no what to do. My new GP has never referred me to a consultant it like they dont know why i dont have them therefore they just dont care.
Also i have never developed breast's in all honesty id say im a double A and at my age this kills me along with not knowing if i will ever be able to have kids naturally.

I hope some of you have had answers and i am still going to push my GP for answers but not holding much hope so if anyone has any ideas on what i can do that would be great.

Get rid of that doctor and go to a gynocolgist. And endrchanoligist.
I know I spelled that wrong. Also called endo. They both work with hormones.
Plus lots of women have children that don't have breast.
Not all women get big boobs.

Did you ever find out

Thanks for your comment. That's what Im hoping to do but i believe I need to be referred by a gp to see a gynocologist. last time I seen a gyno which was about 10 years ago he said that the scans couldn't see either my ovaries or womb (can't remember which one now) I'm fully aware there are other options but surely most females would love to conceive naturally. At the end of it I suppose what I'm really after is knowing what these tablets really are for, hormones or bones? I no no one on here is a doctor but someone may have an idea. oh and I don't want big boobs just some would be nice haha
