I have this. Every morning after I shower, I dry the area with a hair dryer, and apply talcum powder. When the rash flares up, after I blow-dry the area, I use a cream prescribed by my doctor. . . then powder again. The cream is called "Clotrimazole and Betamethazone Dipropionate", available by prescription only. It works like magic. Sometimes it takes two days, but usually only one. Mine is a yeasty rash. If I were stranded on a desert island, and could only bring one thing from home, this cream would be it for sure.

I also have large breasts and have found that diaper rash cream works the best when I get a rash. Since it based on the same theory as diaper rash, the rash disappears quickly once I put the cream on. You can buy creams that don't smell and work just the same. My next step is breast reduction.

I am also large breasted and get this often, mostly in the summertime. I use diaper rash cream and it clears up in 1-2 days. Hope this helps!

I have this issue, and spent $50 on special prescription creams, tried the diaper rash creams, washed area with oatmeal wash, the blow dryer, baby powder, you name it. I finally did the Apple Cider Vinegar treatment and it literally cleared up overnight. It burned something fierce, but definately worth it. I think its the whole big boobs, hot Florida, and my bra hace a pretty lace detail but it irritates that sensitive area. Anyway, hope this helps!

I have read all of the treatments and responses listed here and I was wondering if anyone has had this as a result of a new medicine. I have never had a rash like this and started a new medicine last week.

Hi there, I have been reading some of these posts about rashes under the breasts. I have had that and still do. I have gone to the dermatologist for it as sometimes it gets really red and itchy. She told me that it is a fungus and I should try to keep it very dry. So I wash in the morning and then of course I take a shower once a day, and then at night I was that area again, and I keep putting on baby powder to keep it dry. I have also spoke to my pharmasist and he gave me a cream for fungus and I clean it in the morning and then put on the cream and when it dries I can put the baby powder on top and I do the same at night.
I am 61 years of age and I still get the odd time hot flashes and of course I perspire under my breasts and then again it gets red and sometimes shiny, especially if I am taking a hot shower which I love.
So for the ones that have the same as I do, keep it as dry as possible and I would check it out with your doctor just to make sure that it really is a fungus.
If it is more than that, like pimples and other sores that are not healing I suggest that you definitely see your doctor about it.
Good luck with that. :D

It is common for women to get a rash under the breast during warm weather. The breast needs air to keep it dry to prevent the fungi from spreading and sunlight to destroy the fungus. A simple solution is to go bra less to prevent the build up of perspiration and wear thin clothing if going out. It is also advisable to sunbathe topless for at least 20 minutes a day and go topless whenever possible to allow the air to dry the breast thus preventing the fungus and the rash. Also sleep topless as fungi thrives in dark moist environments.

Hi all..
I have very large breasts and often get smelly, hot, burning rashes that are very nasty so I went to my GYNO and he told me that I have a yeast-type infection. He prescribed some anti-fungal cream and it cleared up the rash along with the annoying little pimples I had.
Here are some remedies I have tried and they have worked well:
Gold Bond Medicated skin cream
Gold Bond Powder
Cold cream, especially Noxema. Put it in the fridge overnight, it helps cool down a hot rash
Cornstarch
Diaper rash cream...the creamy kind works est for me
Keep a clean, dry cotton sock or pices of a cotton t-shirt under each boob to help adsorb moisture
Expose under breasts to air as often as possible...I actually lay down by a fan and lift up my boobs to let the skin underneath cool down
Keep the skin clean and dry
Wear a good fitting bra
Use gentle soap ( I use Dove or baby soap) under the breast area
Hope this helps...best advise, see your doctor

For two months I tried many solutions to cure the rash I had under my breasts but it never went away. I tried apple cider vinager, yeast infection creams, powders, rolled up socks, you name it ! I finally went to my Fabulous Doctor and she told me what to do. She wrote me perscription for this solution at the pharmacy ( Fred Meyer) but found that I could actually buy it over the counter there without needing a perscription...Here ya go: Buy "Hibiclens (Chlorehexidine Gluconate) solution 4.0% w/v. Cost $12.00. Use it in the shower each morning, rubbing it under the breast with a wash cloth in a scrubbing motion. Go to town on it ! Then, for a while, until it started to really do its job, I used "Vagasil Powder" ( Safeway $4.00) under my breasts. That stuff is amazing...keeps the area dry and takes away that funny smell. I've been using the cleanser for about 3 weeks now faithfully and the problem is almost completely gone.
She said that this was caused by an infection in my skin there...its not a yeast infection.

Rash under the breasts is a very different diagnosis than the pimples.
The rash 'can' be from heat - it happens to me and I have to be fastidious about how I put my bra on and making sure when I get home to use powder.
As for the pimples - I would research "Hidradenitis Suppurativa" - it's considered a rare disease but it's not that rare b/c people are too embarrassed to speak about it.
Thanks!

my aunt is an LPN, and I talked to her just today about what I should do about my rash problem. She told me to put monastat or vagisil (yeast infection cream) on the rash, let it dry, and then apply corn starch to keep it dry. Im giong to try this tonight!!

The red rash you have under the breasts is called Intertrigo.
Intertrigo is a yeast infection of skin folds caused by Candida albicans. In areas of the body that have skin touching skin such as the armpits, groin, and under heavy breasts or fat folds, the environment is warm and moist. This is the perfect environment for Candida albicans, a yeast that is normally found on the skin, to overgrow and cause symptoms.
Keep the are clean with a anti-bacteria soap-- dry under the breasts and use Bacitracin salve. Sleep in loose fitting cotten shirts. Even losing 10 lbs will help this problem if you have big boobs.

I've been struggling with this condition for a number of years. I had it almost the entire past winter. I could control it somewhat with Tinactin anti-fungal powder and/or Tolnaftate cream. I do use an anti-bacterial soap when I shower. I even tried using a blow dryer on low to completely dry the offending area before treating it and getting dressed. This winter nothing I did cleared it up completely. I had some Caldesene medicated powder left over from a few years back and tried that. It worked. But try to find it in the stores, or online - I couldn't - not the medicated variety. I must have had it in the back of the cupboard longer than I thought I had. Cornstarch didn't help because after a few hours, the area was moist again. Since I was aware the problem is caused by moisture, I went shopping to see if there was something I could buy to better control it. I found it in Wal-mart but it's available at several other places, as well as online. It's called Anti Monkey Butt Powder. The ingredients are Talc, Calamine Powder, and Fragrance, in that order. I laughed when I saw its name but I bought a can of it. It's the best thing I ever did for myself - well, almost. It's a sweat absorber and friction fighter. One application lasts me all day or all through the night. I haven't had a moisture problem or a rash since I started using it. I like the fact that I'm rash-free, my skin looks normal again and I'm no longer walking around smelling like chemicals. (Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated in any way with the company - I'm just a satisfied user hoping my own experience will help someone else.)

I too get large rashes occasionally under my breasts that extend down on the rib cage where the breast lays. I have been quite successful at getting rid of them using Desitin that is used for babies' diaper rash.
